This is another large eating area within the restaurant. This is definitely a beachy kind of place.

Updates of Texan eateries I like (2 of 2) Yummie's is one South Padre Island restaurant I really like, and if you spend some time here, you may wind up trying most of them, including some across the water in Port Isabel. For starters, Yummie's has a great feel about it - bright, spacious, and slightly nautical. They do a breakfast and lunch business, a business model a good number of local eateries share with them. While I can't vouch for their breakfasts and since I like lunch food more, their lunch menu is fairly vast. With all this being said, I wandered in here the last time on South Padre Island knowing I'd find a lunch platter to my liking. I would expect that to be a bountiful sandwich and that's what I've enjoyed on both visits. In my first visit here, I ordered a slice of the organic red grapefruit pie. It was a feast for the senses. On the last visit to Yummie's, this unique pie was not available. I believe it would have been in season. The server wasn't exactly clear, but said it had something to do with more recent menu planning. I was disappointed. It's that dessert that brought me to Yummie's the first time I visited and it's that item that brought me back. Look, I'm not a granola, and neither are most Texans and "Winter Texans" given that they sell towels and t-shirts with pit bulls on them across the street, which means that you can skip the organic part of the equation if it makes it easier for you to procure red grapefruits for you to deliver on this bodacious pie. The sandwiches and lunch platters at Yummie's are generously sized. I've gotten the standard potato chips to round out my sandwiches. Maybe I didn't see an option, but it would be nice if regular fries or something similar was offered for a reasonable upcharge. Since potato chips already have enough oils and fat, one might as well push the envelope that extra mile with another starch that tastes even better. The reviews will attest to Yummie's being a rock solid restaurant. I agree. I recommend it highly, but, for my wants and needs, will look at the most current menu or call beforehand prior to going in to eat. That's correct ... these aren't the sorts of specifics for which you would text them.

Another restaurant recommended by a friend which has good breakfast and coffee. We only got the breakfast and were seated right away but we went when it is not busy season. Other times, there may be a wait. I ordered the breakfast platter and wanted fried eggs or eggs over hard. I don't like the eggs runny and not everyone can get the eggs done right. This place did. Everything was yummy including the French toast. I will definitely return and try the pancakes the next time. My only recommendation is that the servers should demonstrate a more friendly vibe. Our server wasn't rude, but she had a lot of tables and in a hurry so it seemed we were rushed. I'm not sure if they are expected to clear out the tables quickly or what. Overall I gave it a 5 because of the food but the servers could act like they want to serve the guests versus being bothered.

Great breakfast this morning!! Prices were great. $100 for 4 people plus pancakes for the table and drinks. You can't beat that. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We got our food fast, in and out within about an hour. Definitely check it out!

Yummies should be your absolute go to breakfast/brunch or lunch spot on the island if you want some fresh, light, or healthier. The own downfall is the extreme long wait times normally. You can never go wrong with any of their coffee items or smoothies! My absolute favorite thing here is the chicken salad plate or sandwich! The owners are wonderful people, very sweet and you can tell that sprinkles down into their staff. It's a cute little cafe on an island and that's definitely the vibes it gives.

The service was decent. The ambiance was okay. The food was disappointing. I tried the shrimp tostadas. They looked amazing but tasted mediocre. My wife's salmon salad looked great but tasted so-so. It was the seafood that was the greatest let down. Because they were highly rated on Yelp, I expected so much better. The did offer a military discount which I appreciated.

I visited this place for my birthday brunch, and I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is great, the service is excellent, and the food is simply delicious. Don't miss out on the food; it's worth the walk.

On our visit to SPI, we read that Yummies was a great place to go to and a friend who knows the area and was there also agreed. We went there on our final day at lunchtime. It was bustling and there was inside seating and outside seating. One thing that I noticed immediately that it was spic and span clean. I ordered breakfast, which included a slice of French toast. It was the best piece of French toast. I think I have ever had. It wasn't soggy and it wasn't overly bread. A couple of ladies got sandwiches and loved them. This should definitely be a stop either for breakfast or lunch.

This is a cute spot for brunch near front of the island. I love the presentation of their dishes, whimsical and fun for the kids so shows they care. Kids get excited each time we come here. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Fluffy pancakes and quick service despite being full.

Bagel with smoked salmon. This was wonderful

The service was fast and courteous. Our food came out quickly. We both enjoyed our meals. My husband got the all American breakfast and I had the lox.

The service was quick and friendly. The decor is pretty, beach themed. Not cluttered, not old-looking. Fresh look. Open airy inside dining area. There is also outdoor seating if you prefer that. The coffee was super delicious! The new menu item Mediterranean avocado toast lacked the "toast" part of the toast. It was sort of toasted on the very end of the edges. The rest of the bread was soft. Too soft. Had to hold it from the middle to prevent it from falling apart. The flavor was just ok. It's supposed to come w chimichurri. There wasn't any that I could taste on it. The water. Nope. Don't drink the water. It tastes like the water dispenser needs to get a deep cleaning. Or any cleaning really. The best part of this meal was definite coffee. It was the star of the show for sure! The friendly service was nice too.

Be prepared to wait a long time! Check in, Grab yourself a coffee at the coffee station and wait outside. In my strongest opinion, the food taste and portion sizes are worth the wait! They do offer indoor, outdoor or bar seating thus providing the guest with a great ambiance no matter what you pick. The hours are limited to only breakfast, brunch and lunch.

The atmosphere was fantastic, especially with the ocean breeze coming through. We ordered the steamed mussels, the grilled red snapper sandwich, and the grilled red snapper entrée. Our favorite dish was the red snapper sandwich. It tasted fresh and had more of a homestyle feel rather than something overly polished from a professional kitchen, which we really appreciated. Honestly, everything tasted fresh, comforting, and well prepared. The service was also incredible throughout the night. The only slight issue we had was spotting a cockroach crawl from under one of the chairs when we pulled it out. However, considering the restaurant is basically right on the beach and outdoors, insects are somewhat expected, and it honestly didn't take away from the experience for us. Overall, great atmosphere, great food, and a really enjoyable dinner spot in South Padre.

It's not much to look at, small, simple, not a whole lot of improvements over the years. But, they did have plastic flaps that dropped down on the outside of the place to keep the wind and cold weather out, heaters provided too! Service by Aaron was top notch, start to finish! We initially just decided to stay to a drink and move on ... but as we sat there and looked at the menu, sipped our drinks, we saw other food coming out of the kitchen! It looked GREAT! We ordered the crispy oyster tapas (fried oysters on homemade potato chips with mango pico). They came out quickly and were oh so tasty! We were convinced! Time for dinner! We ordered a rueben sandwich (with homemade parmesan potato chips) and the snapper veracruz (tomato, onion, olives, capers) with grilled zucchini. The sandwich was da bomb ... piled high corned beef, kraut and dressing, pickles on the side. The snapper dish is one we make at home, and this one was darn good! So, glad we stayed! This place puts to shame some of the other "fancy" places on SPI! "Don't judge a book by its cover" rings true here! Highly recommend you try the Cafe! We'll be back for sure ...

Our waitress, Marlene, was fabulous. She was attentive and friendly. For our entrees, we ordered the Filet Mignon and the Smoked Duck Breast. The filet was incredibly tender and flavorful, which isn't always easy to achieve with such a lean cut of meat. The beef jus paired perfectly with it. The duck breast was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The highlight of the night, however, was the Key Lime Soufflé. This was easily one of the best desserts I've ever had. The balance of flavors was perfect. Not too sweet, not too tart, just the right amount of key lime. The soufflé itself was also baked perfectly. Every course was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the entire meal felt incredible from beginning to end. If you're visiting SPI and looking for a memorable dinner, F&B is absolutely worth a visit.

Hustle is her middle name... thank you ma'am, you made the evening! The menu was a chef's selection 4 course menu, with options for each course. We opted for the wine pairings with each course. The restaurant was decked out with New Year's regalia... with balloons, hats, noise makers, at every table... really fun atmosphere! All the staff were decked out fancy, looked great! For our first course, we selected lobster bisque mushroom soup. The mushroom soup was divine, absolutely fabulous. The lobster bisque was sub-par... while plentiful, the lobster was not fresh, tasted very fishy. The second course of the seafood medley and venison bites was equally Jekyll and Hyde! Venison, superb, tender, cooked perfectly, tasted great. The seafood medley, all super fishy ... not fresh! Crab claws mushy too, obviously frozen prior. Oysters pitifully small and warm. Shrimp, while cold, were very fishy and mushy, as if previously frozen. No bueno! Our third course was the surf/turf and Akashi short rib ragout. The turf was awesome, best steak we've had in years! The lobster ... pitiful, small, overcooked, tough and fishy! Disgusting! The ragout was good, but we're not sure why chef's make beef dishes sweet ... good beef stands on its own, no need to over season! Not a well conceived dish... Our final course was the chocolate soufflé and lemon cake ... both were terrific! The soufflé with Chantilly cream and whipped cream was very good. The star dessert was the lemon cake with fresh fruit! Light and airy cake, the fruit was to die for. Delicious! The wind pairings were good, although some of the selections were "tired" favs, like "The Prisoner"... IMHO. Such a good wine list at F&B, the pairings were disappointing! The staff whisked away a 1/2 finished pre-dinner martini, which Marlene graciously replaced! When you spend $500+ on dinner for two, even a special evening, the restaurant should deliver. F&B did not meet the standard on New Year's Eve. We won't be back this trip..,

This review is really only based on the overall experience since the coffee was good: Pros: 1. My coffee order. Vanilla latte- strong and not too sweet. The cup makes a cute photo moment (pictured) 2. The baristas who took my order & made my coffee, they were nice given the circumstances (see below) Cons: 1. There was a family with (no exaggeration) 10+ children ordering before us and it was chaotic the second we walked in. The place was already packed, so it was overwhelming to say the least. I have no issues with children, as they were just being children. It was the lack of social awareness, control, & organization from the parents. Ice cream/coffee orders were being shouted in all directions, orders being changed multiple times, etc. It took so long for us to even order...and then an additional wait because they had ordered so much. I know it's not the establishment's fault, I'm just being honest about my experience. Maybe there should be a limit on how many people are able to crowd the front since it's a small space? I felt bad for the workers, they did a great job keeping it cool and professional. 2. There was a group of "Christian" men who seemed like they had a long meeting. They were having a very loud and racist brain rot induced discussion about their views on how diversity and inclusion are ruining this country. I've seen comments like that online and always assumed it was bots...was flabbergasted to actually hear it in person that was frustrating. Again, not the establishment's fault. But as a person of color myself, including the baristas, it was just very uncomfortable and wild to experience. It seemed like they felt too comfortable being that bold in there and that's suspicious to me. I literally chose this shop to avoid another notoriously racist coffee shop with a politically aggressive owner on the island! 3. The bathroom was gross. I can only give this place 2 stars only for the coffee and service. The workers all did a fantastic job, seriously give them a raise! However, we left overstimulated and extremely annoyed. Not sure if I'll ever be back. Hey, at least the coffee was good.
