Overall: 4/5 Food Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Came here for lunch and grabbed a Pork Bahn Mi. The line was out the door, but it moved quickly. The Bahn Mi was SOLID! The most important things are the BREAD and the MEAT. The meat was juicy, tender and sweet. The bread was fresh, the fasho got it this morning! Definitely a SOLID choice and super affordable prices! This is not the best Bahn Mi out there, but for lunch downtown under $9, this hits the spot!

This is a mom n pop ran family business. It's just the both of them churning out the food, Monday - Friday 10am-2pm. The place is tiny and divey. It's counter service with some outdoor patio seating. It's always busy during the weekday lunch with a line out the door. The line moves relatively quick though. The menu has Vietnamese, Chinese, and American options with the likes of shrimp spring rolls, banh mi, teriyaki chicken, fried rice, Vietnamese beef stew, burgers, and fries just to name a few. Food is basic and tasty. Classic fare. I've had their banh mi, both the grilled chicken and grilled pork. $7.99. The sandwiches are loaded with meat and are a hefty size. The meat is tender with good flavor. The baguette is classic banh mi. Soft interior with crunchy, flaky top crust. Top notch, I have also ordered the Vietnamese beef stew. The broth is pretty darn tasty, it has the classic tangy bright profile. The chunks of braised beef is tender and fork shreddable. If you order this, just be aware it will take longer to prepare because they will need to heat a batch. They use a pot on the stove and not a microwave for that. The stew is served with a whole baguette, the same ones used for the banh mi.

Wonton Soup. Great flavor. If you're Vietnamese there is a very nostalgic flavor to this soup.

Coming in, the place is SMALL. It reminds me of coming into someone's home and waiting in the kitchen for the food to be done cooking because they make most of the items on the spot. I'd say getting Vietnamese food such as banh mi, spring rolls, vermicelli noodles, pho, soup, etc. is a solid choice. It is not the best and is slightly overpriced compared to the places in South Sacramento but compared to the prices downtown.. It is definitely on the lower end and tasted good enough for me to keep coming back. The owners are also really cute and friendly. Some of the Chinese food looked kind of sketchy so I have not tried it so this review is based on mainly the Vietnamese food choices.

I stopped at Yummy Choice impulsively while walking by on my way to a meeting. I had some time before my meeting and when I saw they had Banh Mi options on the menu I was sold. It's a small shop, great for quick to-go orders. They have some ready made hot options as well as items they make fresh when you order. I had to get the grilled pork Banh Mi and saw that they had grilled meat pork spring rolls so I bought them as well. They have fountain drinks, bottled drinks and iced tea available for drinks and they have utensils and sauces available to grab before you head out. My sandwich only took a few minutes to be ready and they handed me a bag with my items while I was taking some photos. The sandwich was huge and the spring rolls were stuffed, probably some of the biggest spring rolls I've had in a while. Everything tasted great. The bread was soft and fluffy and the sandwich as a whole was great, I loved the crunchy veggies with their sauce and the pork. I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu soon.

I really love this small lunch spot for the Vietnamese soups, spring rolls and salads. But they also have many other items on the menu. To my surprise today, they are now serving cold or hot sandwiches and hamburgers and fries. This is a husband and wife owned restaurant, they are super friendly and make delicious food. There will also soon be more seating outside, stop by and give them a try for lunch!

2 item lunch special with chow mein, lemon grass pork, and steamed vegetables.

I keep coming back for the lemongrass grilled pork so I can't speak to anything else just yet. I'm from the SGV, born and raised, and my Vietnamese flavor preferences lean Canto: this lemon grass pork tastes like home. It tastes like the thit nuong i grew up eating tastes like. Being specific because i think different communities cook their dishes differently so it comes down to preferences and what you're used to. I've been unimpressed by charbroiled pork at other spots in Sac so far because it's usually not enough charbroiled enough and too saucey or overly marinaded. I get the 2 item combo with chow mein and plain veggies. The two side items are on the lighter flavor profile side but for me they are the perfect balance with the pork. I'd definitely do the rice noodle w fish sauce except the portion is pretty large so fish sauce drenched vermicelli and lettuce wouldn't keep very well. I'm usually able to split my order into two different meals so it's quite a bit of food. Also love that it's made by an uncle and auntie. Support small businesses!

My favorite go to spot for lunch when I am in the office in DT Sac. I typically order the pork Banh Mi sandwich at Yummy Choice for lunch. Great lunch price and as you can see in the pic, they pack it with meat! So good!

Shrimp Spring Rolls and Thai Tea
    Franny Z.

This review is solely for the Spring Rolls. My friend brought me Spring Rolls and a Thai Tea. This is probably the best spring roll I have ever had. The peanut sauce even had a nice kick to it. The tea was yummy too. My friend ordered food and hated it that she tossed it. Not sure what she ordered.

Pork Báhn Mì. Large, flavorful, fresh, delicious. Photos don't do it justice.

A hole in the wall with delicious food. The Pork Bahn Mi is incredible. Best I've had outside of the Bay Area. Fresh and deliciously pickled veggies, extremely flavorful grilled pork, and only $8.50 out the door for the generously sized sandwich, this is my go to lunch downtown. The owners are kind, welcoming, and above all efficient. If there is ever a wait in this tiny shop, it's absolutely worth it. The egg roll I had wasn't spectacular but the Bàhn Mí was out of this world. Five stars without question. Can't wait to come back again.

So earlier this year I got introduced to this place thru a Yelp Elite experience and needless to…read moresay that visit really blew me away. Since that visit I have returned three different times, always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience. PS-Parking could be a bit of a challenge as they share a lot with an auto shop but all of my visits I was able to secure a spot-I am sure you will as wel

The restaurant is super cute and has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and shaded which is perfect for warmer Sacramento months. They have a variety of menu items including a build your own bowl opton, tacos, nachos, sandwiches, loaded fries, musubi and an udon special. I ended up ordering the Umami Udon with special chicken as my protein ($13.50), a Build Your Own Bowl with fried rice, katsu chicken, the triple katsu sauce, and stir fried veggies with "The Works" ($16.50), and Musubi ($8.75). The staff was super friendly and helped me make some decisions for my order and recommended the umami udon special, which I'm so happy about. The food was made fresh and took a little bit, but was packed with care and was nice and hot. I took it home to enjoy and the food was still hot and the portion sizes were really generous. The Umami Udon was amazing, it had perfectly cooked udon noodles that had a great chew in a creamy teriyaki sauce with smokey bacon, mushrooms, onions and garlic. It was a great mix of sweet and savory and lived up to it's umami name. I would order this again and again, it was so good. The Build Your Own bowl was also delicious and I can see why the chicken katsu is a customer favorite. The veggies were fresh and the fried rice was really flavorful. The Spam Musubi had thick slices of spam with a nice marinade and came with sauces for dipping. I'll definitely be back again soon, and while I want to explore more of the menu the umami udon is happening again!

Kado Asian Fusion is located on Broadway and cater to the lunch/dinner crowds. They are open from 12-8pm every day except Sundays. The inside was clean and had a decent amount of tables. We ordered at the counter and then sat at a table while we waited for our food to go. They offer bowls, tacos, nachos, rolls and sandwiches! I don't always know what to order at new places - so I liked that they had signs for specials as well as "favorites." We ordered the Rice with Teriyaki Chicken, Oliver's Favorite which was Spam Musubi and Spam and Bacon Fried Rice and Mom and Dad's Forbidden Feast. Everything looked and tasted really good! Obviously, it would have been much better had we actually eaten in the restaurant, but still no complaints once we got it home. Spam Musubi is one of my favorite things to eat so I could have downed like 5 of them! Portions were huge too - they even have a 100 year old teriyaki recipe! Overall, I would definitely come back and try other items! Staff were also very friendly, personable and gave great recommendations! Check them out!

The Saigon Alley Wings were equally delicious -- crispy, flavorful, and definitely one of the highlights. The Dynamite Scallops tasted amazing as well, but again, the portion was very small, so I'd recommend ordering more than one if sharing. The Fried Shrimp tossed in salt and pepper with jalapeños was nicely balanced and not overly salty. The Fried Calamari with cilantro aioli was cooked perfectly -- tender and not rubbery at all. For the mains, the Charbroiled Pork Chops and Short Ribs topped with scallion oil, shallots, and fish sauce vinaigrette were wonderfully flavorful, and the meat was tender. We also tried the Garlic Noodles, which were decent, although I've had better garlic noodles at other restaurants, and they arrived a little cold. The Garlic String Beans sautéed in garlic butter sauce with chili flakes were surprisingly one of my favorites -- crunchy, garlicky, and absolutely delicious. I also loved the Thai Tea because it wasn't overly sweet. For dessert, we tried the sesame balls with condensed milk, which we enjoyed, although it was the only dessert option on the menu. Overall, the food was flavorful and well-prepared, but the portions definitely lean on the smaller side. Ratings:* Ambience: 4/5* Food: 3.5/5* Service: 3/5 -- mainly because it took about 30 minutes to receive the bill. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting.
