Good place. Pretty slow Friday when we came for lunch. First time for us. Menu board is over the cash, or they have paper copies too. This is a counter service restaurant. Order at the cash, and they call your name to pick up at the main counter. I ordered the bulgogi bipimbop. Awesome, and it comes with a side of golchuchang (spicy pepper) sauce. My wife had the 1 meat bento box which had an enormous serving of bulgogi. They have a standard soft drink serving machine. Clean place and friendly folks working there. Recommended.

Small place, but lots of options. I really enjoy their obento boxes and miso soup. Their sushi is really good as well and the prices are fair. Anytime I've walked in I've been greeted/welcomed by multiple staff members. From the time I've ordered, it's always been maybe a 7-10 minute wait at most to get my food. My only complaint is regarding their seafood hotpot. The one time I ordered it, the seafood didn't taste fresh, it tasted like it was previously frozen. Otherwise the soup was good. I would order the hotpot again, but not with seafood. As a heads up, the hot pot and ramen are dine in only.

The staff was very friendly and took my order quickly. She knew the items on the menu very well, she was able to tell me what was inside of whatever food I asked about. The food was hot, fresh, and came quickly. The Bulgogi Burrito was very flavorful. The meat was tender and juicy. The Gyoza was also good. Nice atmosphere, a very chill setting.

Full disclosure, I'm biased towards smaller establishments. Since I'm in the area about once a week for work I figured I should start branching out my lunch options: enter Yummys. After seeing pretty strong reviews I decided to stop by for lunch shortly after opening. I was met not only with no wait but a very friendly and welcoming staff. I surveyed the menu and settled on the Burrito. At a crossroads between the Chicken Teriyaki and Bulgogi as my meat of choice, the employee at the register recommended I go with the latter. Good thing I asked. The burrito was indeed a smorgasbord of cuisines, with the tortilla, bulgogi, and even yum-yum sauce coming into the mix. All combined created a unique medley that was worth the exploration and giving places like Yummys a shot.

I found this hidden gem while looking for sushi on yelp. I must say this is my go to spot for sushi now. They have a great selection and variety, and not only that the prices were very reasonable. Service was quick and the vibe was very chill. You can grab and go or sit down and eat there.

Came here for the high ratings on my way to the college. The burger is a must try, it was interesting, sweet and very oily. The soup I was expecting the OE egg, like normally but got scrambled (didn't read the menu that well). The place was crowded and loud the people were friendly, the meal was a bit of a wait...and it didn't come out all together for our party..it's definitely not a fast food but I'm not sure it's worth all the hype.

    Chirashi to go

I didn't feel like cooking the other night so I searched for restaurants near me. This location popped up, and got me interested because I love sushi. I ordered the chirashi, ramen burger and bulgogi burger. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the sushi in the chirashi. It is fresh and firm. The shrimp tempura wasn't all that great, I've had better. As for the ramen burgers, it was interesting that they made pattys out of ramen. I don't know if it was supposed to be crunchy, I imagine it should be like pan fried cake noodle, but the ramen burger patties were stale like to me. They would have been better if it was crunchy. We did order to go so if it was fresh maybe it would have been better. The flavors of the burger were delicious. I love the sauce on it. My husband prefers the bulgogi burger over the regular burger.

It's a delicious journey through different forms of Japanese cuisine, from raw dishes to grilled, fried, and even a comforting soup course. The setting is intimate, with just a few seats per seating, which makes the experience feel personal and unrushed. Each dish is introduced with care, offering insight into the ingredients and preparation and adding an extra layer of appreciation to the meal. We opted for the sake pairing, which complemented the courses beautifully. Standout dishes for us were the sashimi and the wagyu beef, both incredibly fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. That said, every course was truly delicious. Nasime is a wonderful spot for a thoughtful, peaceful dinner and an especially great choice for a date night. Reservations are required through Resy, and I definitely recommend coming hungry--you'll want to enjoy every course.

To explain my review, I am most influenced by how much I enjoyed the food. It's only fair to note…read morethe menu rotates and I received a serving that I would not personally enjoy. Perhaps it was being a patron during the winter when freshness is limited. Each dish we ate I rank below: 1) poached egg w/ blue crab dashi ankake (5/10) - the egg was cold and cooled the soup once the yolk was pierced which took away from the experience for me. The crab was good and it was supplemented by this corn-like kernel that was bitter and complemented the soup well. 2) seared wagyu with truffle shoyu (8/10) - seems to be a staple. Delicious. Wish there was more truffle since some pieces weren't as covered. Slightly cold but didn't take away from the experience. 3) otsukuri (sashimi) (8.5/10) - wish this was the majority of the meal. This was the part enjoyed most. A wide variety of fish. I would've enjoyed this more if it was not all served at once. 4) spanish octopus agedashi (8/10) - very delicious though the octopus pieces were very big and some too fatty. ' 5) prime fillet mignon w/ haccho miso graze (9/10) - amazing!! our favourite dish. served on a bed of eggplant and mozz cheese. The steak was perfectly cooked. 6) maple leaf duck noodle soup (3/10) - did not enjoy this dish. The broth was not savoury and the duck was far too gamey and fatty. Fortunately, we were stuffed so didn't eat this one. 7) housemade strawberry japanese fro yo (8/10) - refreshing and delicious Cocktails - 7/10 - very limited menu. We had one of the signature cocktails and a whisky. They were both light but lacked complexity. Most of the flavour was given way by the yuzu. Atmosphere - this is where the restaurant shines and I'd recommend going for a special date. It's a very intimate setting. About 10 people can be seated every time, and I believe there are two seatings each evening (6pm and 8:30pm). You are not rushed. We had the 8:30pm seating and lingered for almost 3 hours. It was an excellent environment conducive to conversation. We sat at the bar and saw the one-man show, the chef, prepare all the food. He had a haughty energy, very focused, and unsmiling. He gave the aura of a trained culinary genius. This was nicely contrasted with the one server, a charming and smiling individual. The place is not fancy - I do think it could've been nicer - but I believe it is the most authentic Japanese restaurant you'll find in all the DMV. I would highly recommend to everyone interested in fine Japanese cuisine.

Have tried Izakaya Nana, Genki Izakaya and Super Kyuramen and been to Izakayas in Tokyo and Kyoto…read more I love that so many Izakayas have opened in the NoVA area. The bad thing about Genki Izakaya is how crowded it can be. I'm not sure I would show up without reservations again. I've been there 3 times, the first time we didn't have a reservation and the hostess seemed very hesitant to add us to the wait list. She said the waitlist was very long. We decided not to wait. The second time we also didn't have a reservation and the hostess again seemed very hesitant to add us to the wait list. This time we did wait and were quoted 1.5 hours and it actually took about an hour. Not as bad as quoted but still busy! Third time we finally had a reservation and it still took us 20 mins to get seated as they did not have a table ready for us. To be honest the restaurant itself seems too small, they probably could be twice as big. The reason is the food at Genki Izakaya is in my opinion the best of the 3 Izakayas in the area. The Yakitori is good, hot and reasonably priced although I wish they would let you customize the $20 Yakitori Platter. I tried the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Hot Stone and was surprised that they cook it for you instead of you cooking it yourself on the hot stone. The waiter overcooked 2 pieces of the Wagyu which is annoying when it is so expensive but overall it tasted great. I like their Tonkotsu Ramen, it broth tastes great and I've had ramen all over this area, in New York City, LA area, Tokyo and Kyoto. It isn't the best I've ever tasted but it is really good especially for this area. Once seated the service is good and the food comes out quickly and everything we've had has tasted great. The only problem is how crowded it can be because its so popular! Only bad thing for us is it isn't too close about a 45 min drive but worthwhile - definitely try it if you like Izakayas and Japanese food.

Getting to the restaurant is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. The place is pretty clean and there is lots of seating. The people are very nice and polite. The first time I went I had the beef bulgogi. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture but it was delicious. It was juicy and flavorful. The next time I went I ordered the spicy pork. I have a decent spice tolerance so I didn't find it too spicy. They were also incredibly nice and gave me the bottom of the batch that is drenched in sauce after I asked. It was incredibly tender and delicious. The best part is the meals are filling at a fair price. I'm glad I tried this recommendation and I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town.
