I came here with my friend craving some butter chicken and garlic naan! The staff were quick to get us seated and allowed us to walk in without a wait. Yuva is a great place to try Nepali food (go for the soupy momos!) and they do a solid job with more well-known Indian dishes, but most offerings here are going to be more expensive than other places. Spice n Rice in Overland Park will get you a standard Chicken Korma for $8.99, whereas Yuva's curries start at $14.99. Bawarchi Biryanis' vegetarian biryani goes for $10.99, and Yuva's goes for $15. You can also see from the photos (hand placed as a size reference) that the size of each curry is not very large. There are a number of places where you can get Indian food of this quality in OP, so if you decide to go to Yuva, I would recommend going for their chaats (Indian street food), Nepali offerings, or other items that you can only get here. To Yuva's credit, their food is really good. The lamb always comes out tender and the curries are fully flavored, but this isn't my first pick for South Asian food in the area. Other places I would recommend are Kurry Leaves and Aahaa South Indian Cuisine in OP and Sohaila's Kitchen (Pakistani) in Lenexa. read more

I tried this place once ish the TooGoodToGo app and it was amazing. Portions were large and the seasoning is perfect. I believe I got chicken masala and it was enough for two meals. My husband Aurko and I decided to order take out from Yuva eats to celebrate mother's day on a cold Spring day and it was a spread that was perfectly spiced, abundantly flavorful and very authentic! I love how the chef has introduced a noodle soup called 'thukpa' here in the KC area and it is a blessing for soup lovers like me. His chicken thukpa is a tangy and saucy noodle soup and the noodles were perfectly slippery and not soggy, just how they should be in a soup. I would have liked a larger serving portion but that's just my opinion. The Nepalese momos and the Nepalese momos in jhol (curry) we ordered were exceptional. Now here's the thing. Momos are very dear to my heart because I grew up eating them back home and the chef makes them absolutely right. His introduction of the momos in jhol (curry) is amazing! I congratulate him on this because the flavors in his jhol cannot be compared to any other dumpling sauce we've ever had, it's that authentic! You can taste the spices and the sesame in the jhol and it's mouth watering! I love butter chicken in general and I'm proud to say that the chef's butter chicken is exactly how you would get back home, it's THAT authentic and yummy! Need I say more? It was a little sweet (just perfect) and the chicken in it was exceptionally moist. Loved it! We also ordered the Kathmandu chicken chowmein and it was fabulously delicious! We almost drove right past it: it's sandwiched between two bigger spots, but glad we found it. We loved it! Very attentive service -- they brought us our own (2nd) pitcher of water :) But the Assam tea was what I really drank the most of. Yummmm. Everything was excellent: Lamb Saag was tender and the sauce is divine. The chili paneer app was delish! But the surprise and delight was the soupy chicken Momos (dumplings). So good! It's a yes for me. Only one or two tables open currently with covid, and chef is the only staff there. Came in and asked for chefs choice on an app and two entrees, so I can't tell you what we got...but what we got was amazing. Started with a chicken and noodle soup with fresh veggies. Lovely lemon and spices, perfect for a chilly day. Two types of curries came after, one lamb and one chicken. We opted for a medium spice level, which was perfect. I needed a semi quick sit down lunch spot near my office and this was suggested by my client. it was spotless, that was a plus and it was nicely appointed with a youthful, hip atmosphere without being hipster. The service was great! I'm hard of hearing and the manager was ESL, but we muddled through and shared a few laughs. They are very gracious and welcoming, so I felt right at home. The Nepalese versions aren't as spicy, which is nice, as my customer wanted spicy and that's the Indian version. I've been here a few times, it's been slow when we went so we got great personalized customer service. The food just kept coming out of the kitchen and it was all delicious. The only small complaint was that we asked for medium spice and it was not very spicy. So I will have to tell them to crank it up a notch next time. Yuva Eats is a "Progressive Nepalese Indian Kitchen" located next to Five Guys at 119th and Blackbob. My husband and I had a lunch date today and decided to check out Yuva Eats. At least once a month we visit a restaurant that serves new-to-us food. This month, we chose food from Nepal. When you drive up, it's easy to miss (hence the reference to five guys). When we walked in, we were greeted by the Chef/Owner. He was training a new employee to greet/serve/cashier. We ordered the following: Dads Favorite Pakora--flavorful onion/potato/cauliflower fritters. This basket full of bite sized fritters came with 2 sauces. The fritters were amazing by themselves. My husband liked them by themselves as well as with each of the sauces (one was a mint sauce). Momo Chaat--We got the chicken. They're crispy bite sized dumplings smothered in a mint yogurt sauce. On the menu it said "Warning! These are addictive!" and boy were they! Gorkhali Lamb curry with Basmati Rice--the rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful on its own. The Gorkhali lamb, husband order a spice level of 8/10 was very spicy but very yummy. It was almost too spicy for my husband but he loved it! Bezule Dum Biryani--Ordered mild spice, received medium (per the receipt), but the mint yogurt sauce tamed the medium to a mild and the dish was perfect. I enjoyed the 1st half without the addition of the sauce and the 2nd half with the sauce and I recommend both. Garlic Naan--Fresh, hot, tasty, just perfection! The Chef cooks everything fresh. The Biryani arrived in a clay pot with a lid and everything was steaming hot. The crispy items were crispy. The rice was tender. The flavors were fantastic! In summary, don't be afraid to try food from another part of the world. You may just find a hidden gem like Yuva Eats. We will definitely be going back! read more

Wow... I ordered the lamb korma, mild. It was SUPER spicy. I have a good tolerance for spice, this stuff should have been "hot", it was too spicy even for a medium. My mouth and lips are on fire. I can't say whether or not I liked the flavor because it was too spicy to taste anything else. If I ever order from here again, I will go with NO spice, and see if that comes out mild or medium. One good thing is that I asked for no plastic utensils, and they listened :) read more

The only place in Kansas City serving Momos (South Asian filled dumpling native to Nepal) and just by that one fact, I had to go !!! It's located in center of Olathe pointe, easily accessible and found. We started with "Vegetable Samosa & Masala Chai" which is basically a south Asian fried pastry filled with veggies which was absolutely delightful. It was accompanied with a mint and tamarind chutney (sweet & sour chutney) which was the perfect side and complimented the samosas ever so well. Masala Chai (tea with aromatic herbs) which again complimented the samosa ever so well with its burst of flavors and had a very soothing effect on my throat. For main course we tried "Fried Chicken Momos" which lacked the south asian flavor and tasted a little bland in my opinion & was accompanied by this amazing peanuty & sweet and sour sauce which complimented the Momos and added the spice it lacked & we ordered their "Soupy Vegetarian Momos" which was overloaded with spice and didn't really mesh with the packed spiced up soup and the bland momos in them. I've been meaning to try it out since probably the time it opened up. I finally ordered in. Oh my! The best Indian/Nepalese food in the Midwest I've had so far. I've been here for 3 years and I generally avoid going out for Indian food since the restaurants serve it too spicy for my palette. But Yuva Eats nailed it!! Back home in India, momos are my go-to Street food, apart from chaats and gol gappas. I had resorted to making momos at home but they lack the certain zing. These momos from Yuva Eats come with the authentic red chilli chutney that is a match made in heaven for chicken momos. I also ordered chicken biryani. And oh my! It's rice particles weren't sticking to each other (major satisfaction), the spice level was JUST RIGHT! The way biryani is supposed to be. It also had a lot of chicken pieces and they were so succulent and oozed flavors in each bite. The quantity of the biryani was enough to last me two meals. Looking forward to finishing off the rest tomorrow (even though I'm tempted to gobble it all up right away). Experience says a day old biryani tastes way better than the day it's cooked. Popped into Yuva Eats on a Saturday at lunch time and was greeted immediately. We were seated and ask for a run down of the menu since Nepalese and Indian food were new to us. Our server explained the menu with great detail and after some careful deliberating we ordered. First we started with an appetizer of somosas. The pastry was light and flaky with a vibrant filled of vegetables and spices. Great start! My main dish was the Kukhora Ko Juhl, it was highly recommended by the owner. The spices, flavors and chicken were delicious and the rice was prefect. For the heat level I went for "hot" and it was a good slow building heat for me. As a lover of all things spicy I would probably like it a touch more spicy. They did offer a hot sauce for me to add if needed so there is always that option for next time. My wife selected the Vegetable Korma (sorry no picture) and it was a hit! The spices were perfect and delicious. Her meal was the overall favorite between the two we ordered. This is the best Indian/Nepalese option I have found in the metro area. The Mango Lassi was phenomenal. We started with the fried chicken momos in chili sauce, which was a beautifully complex sauce with a lot of depth and perfect spice (we ordered medium), and a generous portion of 8 momos plus caramelized onions and peppers. Then we had the Butter Chicken and the Saffron Chicken Korma. Both were good sized portions, fresh and well balanced sauces. They do use a lot of dark meat chicken, which some will love and others will not. Perfect rice and the naan was typical but cut nicely for dipping. The menu had a really good selection of vegetarian options which I will definitely try next time. We will come back here over and over and try it all - the chef is clearly passionate about fresh ingredients and his sauces are flavorful, unique, and clean. read more

My soft opening experience (officially opens June 3) was excellent! I tried the tikki and crispy crab pakoda appetizers, the chicken chow mein, and the assam tea. All were flavorful and delicious, with fresh ingredients and excellent presentation. The chow mein was nice and creamy, with a good amount of tasty chicken, and the medium spice level was just right. The interior was clean and newly remodeled, with Indian background music, while the service was courteous and attentive, with a friendly owner and a friendly chef. As I started writing my review, I was in a late evening hour euphoric state brought on by the absolute perfect conjunction of good food, good family, nice atmosphere, and the "hey, neither of us have eaten @ 8:00 on a Sunday night, so let's find someplace..." last minute dinning experience. I struggled to find words to describe exactly what just happened. I'm landing on this: "It was a tasty, perfect, and simple meal with my daughter and grandson, and we couldn't have been happier." My daughter brought us to this place in a completely random attempt to find something good for us to eat. We both like Indian food, and were curious about Nepalese components. Immediately, we were greeted by a nice gentleman that sat us in a booth and got us a big carafe of water. The menu is separated by Veg and Non-Veg with Nepalese items at the top and familiar looking Indian dishes under. My daughter chose an Indian Veg dish (Spinach Quinoa Kofta), and I chose a Nepalese Non-Veg dish (Kukhura Ko Jhol Masu). Rice or Naan comes with it, so we ordered with rice and added Butter Naan. We had a brief discussion about "heat." We both like spicy food, so with the usual cautions from the server, we went with "Hot." Ordering, Done. Our water and my grandson's Sprite were kept filled while we waited. Great conversations ensued, and then our meal arrived looking and smelling wonderful. The Naan was plain, not buttered (which we were fine with), but the server corrected it immediately. My dish was absolutely heavenly! Just the right amount of heat in a rich flavorful sauce. Many times you have a dish that becomes monotonous, or the heat overwhelms the flavor, but that was not the case here! I found myself eating more than I was hungry for because I was not done enjoying the food yet! Likewise my daughters creamy dish was equally heavenly! It's her loss that she won't eat meat, because the two together complimented each other and made my meal that much more enjoyable! My grandson ate... rice. well, he already had dinner before we got there, and what do you do with a picky 7 year old that won't try good Indian food? More for me :-) This place is awesome! Some other reviews complain about the overall experience there, and I can't speak to that. We came in an hour before closing on a Sunday night, and had one other table competing for attention. I really want to give this 3.5 stars. We were headed to our standby Mr Gyros on the other end, of the strip mall when the four of us decided to be spontaneous and try Yuva Eats. We were pleasantly surprised. We were not well versed in the items on the menu and the server was challenged in explaining the menu to us. We decided to not worry too much about it and got a variety of appetizers, entrees and Naan bread and we enjoyed them all. While we weren't in a hurry the staff didn't seem to stay attentive to our needs. In particular keeping the water pitcher filled especially with some of the items a bit spicy (some of us like it spicier than the other) or when we needed more Naan bread. We will still go back because the food was a nice change. I hope with more time they'll figure out how to improve the service part of the business - full-size napkins, TV sound turned down, more follow up with customers. read more

Sometimes it can be hard to identify a better East Asian place than another since often a flavorful meal can just outshine anywhere you eat it. Yuva Eats is a fantastic place that uses high-quality ingredients that just shows you what you may be missing at the run-of-the-mill Indian buffets. Add to that some unique Nepalese dishes and you're hooked! We ordered way more than we needed: - Chicken Tandoori: moist, smoky but not charred - Chicken Lunch platter: filling with the crowd favorites - Kids Meal 'Naughty' Noodles with Veg: OMG this was an awesome spaghetti-type curry dish. All four of us were taking bites of this one as it reminded me of curry-wurst flavors in Germany or curry spaghetti of Japan - Chicken Biriyani: worth the 20 min wait, enormous portion, wickedly-hot, and just a bouquet of scents and flavors. Add Yuva Eats to your lunch rotation. I'd suggest the restaurant reconsider the table arrangements, there are too many 2-person tables and high-tables for the busy lunch.
