In NY the number of independent stationary stores has dropped over the past decade, with the…read moredecline in written correspondence and skyrocketing rents, so when I saw this small paper goods store in the historic district in Naples, I knew I had to walk in. They carry paper, journals, greeting cards, postcards, wrapping paper, gift bags and boxes, paper party supplies, pens and calligraphy supplies. They're known for being a book binder and traditional paper producer having been in the business for over 100 years. Store space is cramped inside with all the products they carry, and old town Naples isn't exactly known for being spacious. And the decor looks straight out of the 60s, but it's inspiring to see a local business strumming to their own tune.

La Feltrinelli this is a national bookstore chain in Italy, similar to Barnes and Noble in the US -…read moreI'm not sure if this bookstore was a initially a smaller location inside Piazza Garibaldi, bc that's where Yelp has it listed, but currently it's located with access on street level in the Napoli Centrale train station building. It's very large for a bookstore, especially in a highly foot-trafficked location! I walked inside to take a look between train transfers and was impressed by the wide selection of Italian books, periodicals and stationary they carry here. Mostly in Italian though they had a limited number of English titles too. I didn't have much interaction with the staff, though one team member approached me asking if I needed help finding anything.
