Such a lovely and quaint place! The staff was welcoming and super chill, we found our way to the Woodbutcher, and we enjoyed our time exploring the area. So many banana slugs! The water pressure and the water temp were great! We liked our two balconies, the neat beds, the comfy lounge/dining room, the wood burning stoves. We aren't used to wood burning stoves, so we did leave with mild smoke poisoning. Clean up was pretty straightforward and easy. We are already planning our next visit! Thank you for a lovely stay, YWAM!!

I've been coming to this Land for close to 15 years or so. Always get something from God when I leave! He always shows up in His time. This place will be one of the treasures that I'll look back on when I'm in my eternal home with my Father and family! I love the Lord's Land!

I recently spent a quiet weekend in the bear cabin. The staff was very kind. The main grounds were very charming and lots of fun just to walk around. My cabin was down the road and probably one of the most Remote cabins. Everybody commented to me that it looks like I stayed in a hobbit cabin. I enjoyed my stay, but it definitely is roughing it a bit. It has an outdoor outhouse, but it was clean. There is also an outdoor shower that's very private and had great water pressure. Inside heating was a wood-burning stove. Since I went in the winter time in the middle of storms, I packed an extra blanket and a little plug-in heater, both of which came in very handy.

House had everything we needed to stay for the weekend. Plenty of beds and great space to spend time together with friends and have great fellowship. Looking forward to trying other cabins next time! The plumbing went out due to a bad storm right after Christmas but the staff promptly fixed the issue and even called us while we explored Mendocino to let us know everything was working again. read more

Always a favorite place to stay! My rental of choice has been the Little House in the garden and it never fails to be a peaceful place to relax and be refreshed. A small two-room cabin with cold running water and electricity and wood stove, the bathroom and shower are a short walk to the garden gate and across the driveway. It's very charming! read more

This is my favorite place to stay in Mendocino county, especially since it's Christian and part of Youth with a Mission, a great ministry organization. I've only ever stayed in the LIttle House in the Garden, it's such a sweet little retreat. The garden is beautiful and has electricity and running water, and the bathroom and shower are a short walk through the garden and across the driveway. Very rustic, but also very charming. I love the peacefulness and solitude at the camp. It truly does restore my soul. read more

Very nice little cabins, but quite rustic. If you're going to be picky, go to a hotel, but if you like a quiet rough around the edges cabin the woods on a beautiful property on a Christian camp, this is your place read more

Thought we would be there next weekend, the 15th of October. Even took day off on the 17th for our visit. But alas, we won't be , because the reservation we had for Faith House, wasn't held because of a "computer error". They let the cabin go to someone else When my wife called with her disappointment, (she had given her credit card to them, so far no charge on it), she was told she would get call back. 2 phone message left since by my wife, still waiting for the call They represent the "Lord"? Think not, at least not in common courtesy. Make error, be humble, correct it, don't run and hide read more

What a lovely place to stay. Lords Land is a very large beautiful property. There are many cabins all unique with many features. To begin I'll start with the cabin I stayed in this weekend. I stayed in Woodbutchers Cabin for 3 nights. The first thing you need to know about this cabin is the flight of steps you'll need to climb. Make sure you're in decent shape to go up and down. Very easy to slip if you aren't careful! This cabin is very spacey. Large enough to hold 5 comfortably and even 7 if two sleep on the comfy benches. The place is very rustic! There is a shower but no flush toilet. An outhouse nearby leaves a lot to be desired especially if walking to it at night and in the rain as I did. The kitchen and other areas in the cabin are great. There is a fireplace in one side of cabin and a wood stove in the other. If you are looking for anything fancy you won't find it here. But the feeling of real cabin living nestled in among beautiful trees and mountain views makes this a desirable cabin. There are also porches that allow more access to sit and enjoy Gods nature. Also a very private cabin. Lord's Land is close enough to the ocean (about 5 min drive) if you are looking for a coastal getaway. Lots of area for kids to play. Trails for fun easy hike around the property. The pricing is very reasonable but keep in mind not all cabins are easy to walk to or may not have indoor toilet or shower. If the weather is ugly like it was for me this past stay, be careful no to fall or slip on steep steps that go to Prayer cabin, Raccoon cabin, and WoodButcher cabin. The website feels very incomplete and does not give enough pictures or details of the property. So if you haven't been to Lord's Land, check out the pics I posted (not all would post here so see my pics in my profile too). They may help you to decide what may work best for you. I did not stay in any other cabins but after all of the guests checked out I went to see the others. Only three were unavailable to see (sadly these are the same three not listed on the website either), Jay cabin and Bear Cabin, and Stump cabin. But they are listed in a brochure. So perhaps they are occupied right now by staff? Big House is amazing! I want to grab up some friends to stay there. It is pricey but not for what you get and how many it can accommodate! 20, I think it said!! Beautiful inside (sorry no pics for this one). Faith cabin is a dear cabin! Perfect for most families. Close to parking (in comparison). And flush toilet! Stone Dome is cute for a single person or couple. One room under a stone dome. Garden Cabin is very nice and can sleep up to 9. Close to parking and has nice bathroom and good space. Plus the garden area outside is very nice. Less privacy outside but Lords Land is not so large that you'll be seeing a lot of people anyway. Little House in the Garden is very sweet. Good for a couple or single person. Also near Garden Cabin in the garden. Lovely spot to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Tiny Cabin is right out in the open which doesn't feel private at all but once inside it is cozy. Nice for a quick stay for a couple or single. Less amenities for sure. Sabine's Cabin is very nice and would be ideal for a couple or small family as it sleeps "3". Queen and loft bed. Easy access and nice space. Raccoon cabin is great but a long walk down and back up. Similar to the hike that Wood Butcher has though perhaps shorter, it does have nice private spot and cute inside, complete with toilet! Bear cabin has a small easy walk and it looked nice from outside. Nice views and spot but I did not go in since it was occupied at the time. Private area. Prayer cabin probably has the worst hike to it but it is sweet with the best view. Small for sure and I didn't see a stove to cook on. Outhouse is directly behind the cabin which is great for an outhouse. If I were on my own or want time to pray/fast or just have that real get away feeling Id consider this cabin (but only if in shape for the walk up and down). Both Jay cabin and Stump cabin were occupied so I did not go in. However they were both easy accessible. Jay looks spacious and is said to sleep 7 I think. Stump cabin says it sleeps 2. Nothing on the website. A couple more things to consider if coming to Lord's Land... You are asked to clean the cabin before you leave (dress down the sheets used, vacuum, sweep, wipe down counters/tables/etc, take out trash, clean and dry dishes and put away). Many if not all cabins have a stove or fireplace that you'll maintain. I don't recall seeing any space heaters. Bring drinking water, extra blankets (though we had plenty in Wood Butcher). No pets. Take off shoes before going into cabin. (Bring slippers or extra clean shoes for inside). Nature... There is a lot of it here so be prepared. Wood Butcher is probably the most rustic and we saw a few slugs and spiders in our cabin. Nothing unusual for the woods. I hope this review help read more

We knew that Lord's Land would be very rustic and we were quite willing to have that as the price was good. We were shocked however to find that the cabin we rented was covered with dust, had cobwebs everywhere and the entire place was filled with big flies. We actually counted over 60 flies that we had to kill. We found dirty dishes in the kitchen as well. We were disappointed as they told us the cabin had been cleaned the day before. The bunk beds have ladders on them that are definitely NOT to code. I have very long legs and I thought I wasn't going to make it up as the rungs of the ladder were so far apart. Very shocking that the health and safety department would allow this. There was also mold on the ceiling and walls of the bathroom. The last day of our stay they informed us that it was our job to clean the bathrooms, showers, floors and kitchen! This would explain why the place was so dirty when we arrived. How can they expect the customers to do all the cleaning and to do it well? We cleaned the house when we arrived and then cleaned it again before we left. It's probably the cleanest that it's been in a long time. The people coming after us will get a clean place to stay. We will not be returning. read more

I've been here several times and it's my absolute favorite place to go to. It's so beautiful and so peaceful. Bible verses are carved into the wood in the cabins and the prayer trail stunning. I want to be here everyday. read more

I love the Lord's land. Its the most peaceful place you can retreat to so you can refresh your relationship with God. I recommend it highly to those that want a place for good walks, meditation and healthy atmosphere away from the noise... read more

Our little cabins...my family has cabined in the Lords Land a few times, we have always had a really good time. Bring your own linens and food and leave the electronics behind. There are dishes and books in the cabins. The cabins are all very unique and carved in a 60's sort of style. The land is beautiful and peaceful with lots of places to roam. It is a retreat, so we have to remember to be respectful and keep our voices down somewhat. They used to have a pig that would eat your leftovers, but he may not still be there. Albion is just a jump away from the town of Mendocino. The cost has gone up, but is still reasonable. This is one of those special secret places that you really do not want to tell anyone about....whoops. read more

.....I stayed in the PRAYER CABIN in 2014 for 3 days in Aug., and 10 (ten) days in Nov., and then in 2015, ten days in March, and I'm going for 10 days in June. It's a marvelous place to stay, to pray, relax, watch DVDs on your laptop, and write a book on your laptop and write an invention. I bring an inkjet printer, HP 1010, which cost $30 at Staples, plus an extra as a backup. .....Until you see this place, it just cannot be imagined how wonderful it is, It has cold water, microwave, 2 coffee makers, toaster, and woodburning stove. The outhouse is spacious, clean, and smells nice, and it has battery operated lights. .....There are huge 6 ft x 6 ft. picture windows on three side. A single bed downstairs is wonderful to gaze up at the stars and redwoods. Queen bed in loft. .....It's the only cabin at the Lord's Land that is not charged by the day. The only charge is $25 to register for 3 to 10 days, plus a donation as the Lord prompts you. .....It's down a steep path with steps and switchbacks and one must be in reasonably good health to make it down, and especially back up. .....The small refrigerator works well. Bring your own food and bottled water. There are many dishes, cups and flatware, plus coffee filters. During the summer there are occasional mosquitoes, but not many. Bring repellant anyway. Summer temp. is 55-70. Winter 45-60............Call 707-937-5700 This was written in May, 2015. read more

what wonderful trip down memory lane, I lived on the Lords Land back in 69to72 made every timber and shingle for the Woodbutchers Cabin as well as a few others, from an old (2272years)redwood log that had been cut down in the early 1900's and fell the wrong way and laid on the forest floor near the river, we hand sawed, split and made every timber and shingle for Sabina's cabin and a couple others too, it was one of the most wonderful times of my life, Loved IT!!! read more
