Like everywhere in New Zealand, but still a pleasant surprise, they have a real espresso machine and make the coffee by hand. The store has a fairly small selection of food and beverages in coolers. As for the gas, there's are several pumps and no one seemed to have to wait. It's in the side of the road leaving the airport. It's right by treasure island mini golf, which is just before the butterfly garden, and is probably a useful stop for those who need to fill up before returning a rental car, and who may be hanging out at the activity places by the airport. There's plenty of parking at the gas station.

Coffee was as l remembered it - average - the same sort of coffee I expect from Starbucks. The pie was pretty awful. Plenty of meat but very chewy and mainly gristle. The petrol can sometimes be on the more expensive side of things so I usually only do a small top up of petrol when I go there. If you come here between the hours of 10 and 5, a lovely helpful attendant will come out to your car, do your petrol for you, offer to clean your windows, and if you are paying with cash they will take it in; like old petrol station service of Back Then. After five or in the morning you have to do all that stuff yourself, but that's OK. The staff are always really nice and helpful and the place is not usually busy either, which is great. There's always heaps of traffic around though so pulling out on the main road can be a massive pain.

The "On the Run" shop has a resident "Subway" and small coffee counter. They have most grocery items, beverages, car products, magazines all at premium price. Also there is a ATM inside. Bonus.
