Run from this practice. Had an appointment with Dr. Sofer. An hour and fifteen minutes later and still was waiting in the room. A patient next door to me had an appointment after me and I heard the Doctor go see that patient first. Everyone is getting ultra sounds as well so my guess is a money grab. This practice should learn to be more efficient and not make people wait like that. read more

This was my first time visiting Z Urology. It was interesting say the least and made me feel comfortable when I come back going forward. I was warmly greeted by the staff even though there were other people ahead of me. After being asked if it was my first time there, I was handed a tablet to complete some information prior to my exam. The waiting area was comfortable and that was a good thing because there was a blackout after I handed the tablet back to the receptionist! After a few minutes, they calmly advised everyone with whether they could come back later or reschedule. I chose to come back later and was asked to return at 4:00 p.m. . I was seeing promptly by Dr Z. He made me feel very comfortable reviewing my history and explain to me the testing he was going to do. When he was done he scheduled my visit for next week to go over the results of the tests. He made me feel like he was my best friend! Upon exiting every person who work there smiles and said goodbye! Although Dr. Varghese in an excellent Urologist and I feel very comfortable with her, the communication with her support team is quite abysmal. Getting someone on the phone email or website text/chat, and then having a professional, direct and succinct conversation has been a frustrating challenge. I am trying to be professional and not sink low, although it is a very difficult pill to swallow. read more

BEWARE! The answering service never called the Doctor from two ERs. I was operated on as an Outpatient and released too soon, and ended up in the ER and the hospital for 3 days!. Charlotte, their Manager said there is no record for a call from the ER, and my Doctor said she never got a call. 1 hour wait to see the Doctor at their office. Additionally, I got an infection after leaving the hospital under the care of Z Urology, and they never relayed the request to the Doctor so I had to call twice. Then, after speaking to the PA, they were supposed to send my Lab Order to Quest. When I got to Quest for my appointment, they did not have my order, so I called the practice and was told there was an error with their fax and sent the order, causing me to waste another hour. Additionally, there is a 1-hour wait to see the Doctor. Charlotte's way of addressing my concerns was that she offered to send my medical records elsewhere; in other words, she took NO responsibility and was encouraging me to find a new Doctor in another practice. I would give them a ZERO rating if available. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Florida Medical Board. read more

I first met with Dr. Hollowell in May 2025 regarding an enlarged prostate. Initially, everything seemed routine until my blood work raised concerns about possible cancer. A biopsy was performed, but after seeking a second opinion and doing my own research, I was surprised to learn that an MRI is typically recommended prior to undergoing a 12-core biopsy. Many professionals questioned why this step was skipped. While I assume Dr. Hollowell might have felt confident in his approach based on experience, I chose not to pursue that conversation further. The biopsy results showed a Gleason score of 6 (3+3), which is generally considered low-risk. However, instead of reassuring my wife and me, Dr. Hollowell left us with a sense of impending doom. He then ordered additional testing by sending the biopsy to a lab in California, which ultimately indicated that the cancer was unlikely to metastasize. I have my own reservations about that process, which I'll keep to myself. I've since found another urologist who provided a clearer, more comforting explanation of my diagnosis and treatment options. I feel much more confident moving forward under their care. In my opinion, anyone considering treatment with Dr. Hollowell should strongly consider getting a second opinion--or exploring other providers altogether. read more

Cannot reach the corporate office of head- I see a Buffet listed. I like my Doctor very much, but was traumatized by the Long cystoscope used, even though I received laughing gas . I experienced intense pain over a two week or more period I have had many cystoscopies by Several doctors over Many years where only the Shorter Cystoscop[e has been used by those doctors. I would highly recommend Dr. Garden at Z Urology. He is an excellent doctor who has an amazing bedside manner. His office staff is professional and welcoming. I had lithotripsy surgery for kidney stones and it was a success. The care he provided was bar none and the care post surgery was incredible. My Experience with Z Urology - A Cold, Money-Making Assembly Line My experience with Z Urology felt more like stepping into a factory than a healthcare practice. It operates like an assembly line--fast, impersonal, and entirely business-driven. With multiple locations and a high volume of patients, the entire system is designed for maximum efficiency and profit, not patient care. Everything is automated, from scheduling to check-in, done through an app on your phone. You feel like just another number, not a human being. During my visit, the doctor ( DR Igor Inoyatoz) strongly recommended a procedure. I questioned it, especially since my previous test had come back negative. When I asked why I needed it, he brushed off my concerns and said it was "just to be sure." But another urologist had already told me the same thing( just to be sure). The whole thing felt like a push to generate more revenue. When I asked what my out-of-pocket cost would be, the doctor simply said, "Your insurance approved it." Later, I received a bill for nearly $1,000--not including what my insurance had already paid them. My wife convinced me to go through with it, despite my hesitation. The procedure was done on a Friday. By Monday, I felt like I had the flu. On Tuesday, while speaking to another doctor about alternative treatments, I mentioned my symptoms. Without hesitation, he told me I was likely suffering from an infection caused by the procedure and urged me to contact Z Urology immediately. I called them right away. I was only able to speak to a receptionist who refused to connect me with the doctor or even a physician assistant. They prescribed an antibiotic over the phone and instructed me to drop off a urine sample at a different location--one much farther away. Not once did I receive a follow-up call from a doctor, PA, or even an administrator. I was in extreme pain--an 8 or 9 on a scale of 1 to 10--and dealing with other symptoms I won't even go into here. Tuesday passed. Wednesday passed. Thursday came and went. It was now Friday, and I had called the clinic five times with no real response. By 4 PM, I was on the verge of heading to the ER when I now being very forceful in speaking with a doctor or a PA, they put me on hold and was now speaking with a PA. She informed me that the original antibiotic they had prescribed wouldn't help with my type of infection. I was furious--why would they prescribe something that had no chance of working? I'm not allergic to penicillin. Why didn't they just give me that from the start? Late Friday, they finally sent ampicillin to my pharmacy. Again--why wasn't this done on Tuesday? On Saturday, I got an unexpected call from the doctor who performed the procedure. He casually mentioned that he knew about my condition on Tuesday. I was stunned. One of your patients is suffering from a serious infection, and you sit on that information for five days? At that moment, I lost any respect I had left for him. It was inexcusable. The following day, I went to the ER at the Cleveland Clinic. I was finally treated properly. They ran tests, gave me clear information, and helped me feel like a person again. A few days later, I received another call from the doctor. He asked how I was doing. I told him I felt a bit better. He could not have gotten off the phone faster. That was the last I ever heard from him. This whole experience has left me with one conclusion: Z Urology is a money-making machine disguised as a medical practice. It lacks compassion, accountability, and basic human decency. Avoid this place if you care about your health. read more

This doctor did not properly inform me about how painful my procedure would be whatsoever. When I struggled with the pain, she became irate and irritated. Dr. Varghese blatantly shamed me for my involuntary reaction and stormed out of the room without even giving an apology. She said "I'm not doing this", slapped her hands on her thighs in exasperation, and told me to go somewhere else. I will definitely be taking that advice and going somewhere else since this provider lacks empathy, fails to provide sufficient information, and is emotionally reactive. I felt embarrassed leaving this appointment because Dr. Varghese literally scolded me for reacting to the pain she caused, and didn't even try to help me with my health problem. This doctor is beyond unprofessional and I would recommend that any patient looking for appropriate bedside manner stay far away from Dr. Varghese. read more

I had an appointment with Dr Tyler on 6/29/24 for 3 pm. Completed all of the necessary forms via their web portal the day before my visit. The receptionist still gave me forms too complete in writing when I got there. When I pointed out that I had already completed the turns electronically, she said they don't always get notified when patients complete the turns online. I then asked what was the point. I sat in the waiting room cooling my heels for 39 minutes when I finally asked the sections how much longer. She curtly replied that she did not know. Then another office assistant told her maybe 10 minutes more. By 3:45 pm, I'd had enough and I went back up to the receptionist's desk to say I was leaving. Just then, an assistant came out and called my name. As she was walking me bs k to the exam room, I told her that my a lot was at 3 pm and that I had been waiting for 45 minutes. She asked me if I wanted to stay or go, and I said o would stay because I was already there. She then said to me as she put me on the room:" you e been complaining since you hit here." I was flabbergasted. I've never been spoken to by medical personnel like that before. I then waited in the exam room for the doctor for about 25 minutes. It was now after 4 pm, and hour passed my scheduled appointment time. No one came in to say anything to me about how much longer it would be. Finally, I got up to Ieave and ran into Dr Tyler in the hallway. I explained to him my frustration and said I was googling another urologist to see while I was waiting for him. He said to me that maybe it would be a good idea to go see that other urologist. Basically, get out of my office. I told him I'd already paid my co-pay, and he said to me "if you're worried about your co pay, we will give you a refund." I have never experienced a more unfriendly, rude group of medical office employees, from the receptionist to the doctor, in all my life. Clearly, this this practice has little disregard for their patients' valuable time and feelings. I would strongly discourage anyone from going to ZUrology, unless you like being treated rudely. read more

After getting some tests done, I expected a basic courtesy call to discuss my results. I waited for 4 months for somebody to get back to me, but thy did not. However, when I reached out to them again, they refused to provide any information over the phone or via their patient portal and insisted I schedule another appointment. When I attempted to schedule a telehealth appointment, I was advised that the doctor only does telehealth once a week and gave me a four hour window during which I can expect a call from the doctor. Basically have to wait for four hours for a call. It's evident they care more about making money off additional co-pays and insurance claims than the well-being of their patients. I understand that it's a business, but prioritize, your patient's health care, and then business because it doesn't take much effort or money to show that you care, or at least pretend to show that you care. This lack of communication and empathy is completely unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone seeking genuine medical care. read more

Extremely disappointed with the service at Z Urology. I started taking my 85 year old mother to Dr. Hallowell. Our first visit went well. Second visit we waited over an hour to see Dr. Hallowell. Third visit. We waited 45 min. After waiting, Someone took us back to an exam room and prepped my mother for the procedure that Dr. Hallowell was to preform. He was not there. The PA then said she would preform the procedure. After she started to catheterize my mom I realized she was not properly trained, as my mom called out in pain. It was too late to stop. Another employee then guided the PA what to do. Extremely dangerous and unprofessional. When I make an appointment with a specific Dr. for my mother to see, I expect her to see THAT DOCTOR, not an inexperienced PA or anyone else. We left there and my mother had pain urinating. This could have been avoided if Dr. Hallowell had shown up for work. I then reached out to the owner of Z Urology via Email but still have not received a response. If you are looking for a professional, Dependable Urologist, this is NOT the place. read more

It has been one year now that this group of doctors have been taking care of me. From the first visit to the last one this past Monday I have nothing but the most respect for this practice. Each Doctor that has treated me has gone above and beyond in explaining everything, taking their time with me as a patient and answering all of my questions in terms that I could understand. Last year brought three surgeries from this group.......They conquered problems other doctors told me were "NORMAL!" I would not be where I am today if it was not this group. My Primary care sent me here and I was apprehensive in changing. What a Blessing that change was for me. The front Office Staff are great and the entire office from the front to the back to all the doctors work together to take care of their patients! Thank You to all who make the experience of seeing your urologist a pleasant experience. They Listen, They Care, They Make Suggestions and guide you through the process. In the office, Dr. Sofer was great. She explained all supposed possibilities of what was wrong and what needed to be done. As far as what needed to be done: I was told I would have a procedure done based off of an ultrasound. I was given a Rx for an antibiotic. I let them know that there was a risk of tendon damage with the prescribed antibiotic. They sent a script for a new antibiotic. I was in contact with the office 2 days before the procedure. I expected to have the procedure done when I went in. I'm not too keen on taking antibiotics due to the damage it does to good and bad bacteria in your gut. It's not healthy to take antibiotics unless necessary. It would have been necessary if I received the procedure. I took it for a day and a half, and got to the office to find out that it was supposedly not the best route to treat me to do that procedure after paying for (2 antibiotics) and taking one of them. The procedure is something Dr Sofer said she would have told a family member (of hers) to get and it's difficult to get certain images and diagnoses confused when it's a close family member and a patient has the same thing, so with that said, it seems as if the more invasive procedure is just being pushed for other reasons. Idk for sure, but I'm confused and quite honestly afraid to go through with the other procedure being recommended. I was given a physicians order for a certain type of MRI that this place is charging $95 for in addition to what my insurance covers. read more

Make sure you ask questions - the doctor was often too busy going from one patient to the next than to stay with me more than a few minutes and that proved very costly to me long-term, because a critical issue was never addressed which now requires major surgery. They do have their own ultra-sound machine, which is a plus, but I'd consider other urology practices before choosing this office. read more

I was recommended this place when I was hospitalized with a bad UTI. My experience with Dr. Verghese has been quite helpful and very pleasant. The only thing is that I only seem to have one option and it entails a prostate procedure. I previously had one with who turned out to be the worst urologist in Ft Lauderale in my opinion. No treatment but immediate surgery which I have suffered from for ten years now. Without too many details it ruined my quality of life forever. Unforgivable. So naturally another surgery scares the living daylights out of me. Secondly it was only after a while there that I learned what hospital she is affiliated with and where the procedure would take place in. Florida Medical Center I believe it's called. Lauderhill.? I moved here and it is right across the street from me. At first I thought, that's wonderful. A hospital so close until the one time I had an urgent need to go there. As a result I would rather have any procedure done at my dogs vet office. The attention and professionalism is so much more high graded. But as far as Dr Verghese goes I am truly pleased that she has performed tests and treatments that my previous urologist of 15 years never dreamed of. So really, I don't think there is any place that gets a 100% rating in every aspect. So you have to find a middle ground. The best of the worst. Mini Varghese has a horrible bedside manner. When entering the exam room, she already had an agenda and was not open to listening or taking into consideration my insights regarding my own body. No, she was there as the EXPERT and was dismissive of any questions or comments that I posed. She was very condescending, angry, interrupted almost everything I tried to say, and rushed the visit. In fact, she got up after a few minutes and walked towards the door. I was dumbfounded and said, "Are you leaving?" She stood at the door with her hand on the doorknob and looked down at me from my left side causing me to crane my neck and look up at her in order to maintain eye contact. She didn't bother to back up and face me directly or sit back down, as she listened to what I had to say for a few more seconds. I made the appointment because I felt certain that I had a UTI. Well, the first thing out of her mouth was "I'm not a UTI doctor - I'm a surgeon." She repeated this several more times throughout the short time she was in the exam room. She seemed to consider herself above treating such a "minor" problem. So, why was an appointment made for me to see her?? Twice she said that I should just go to an urgent care facility whenever I suspect the problem. This woman is very argumentative. She literally argued with me regarding several topics and especially with regard to taking medication for urinary incontinence. I have had this condition for many years, but I do not take medication any longer because I am retired. and I do not like to take medication unnecessarily. Varghese acted incredulous and asked if I wet myself. She just could not seem to understand why I would not take the medication and she wouldn't let it go. I also told her that a physician had advised me not to take the medication because it can cause Parkinson's-like symptoms and surprisingly, she admitted that cognitive decline has been reported from taking it, but then said, "...but I've never observed it." This comment is ludicrous because it assumes that she tests her patients' cognitive abilities. I also said that from my own experience that I felt that the medication might contribute to my bladder infections. Well, at this point, she became very nasty and completely dismissed my ideas, acting as though this was impossible. She kept insisting that I take medication for urinary incontinence and was pushing a new medication. Well, when I got home and researched the medication online, guess what - one side effect is "URINARY TRACT INFECTION." So, her ridicule and disdain regarding my hypothesis is ironic, or possibly unethical if she is aware of this side effect - and she should be if she is prescribing the medication. I could write more, but I really don't want to think about her or Z doc anymore. read more

I phoned the call center this company has because I had a urine tract infection and although I was a patient of one of the doctors they informed me my urologist was not going to be at the office for the next three days, so I asked to see another doctor and.... he was on vacation!!. Without losing my hopes I asked to see another doctor (any doctor) at any other location they have and was informed I had to leave a urine sample and that I would be contacted later on to set an appointment. God damm it!!, I was in pain and they did not care at all about how I was. I had to get another urologist not related to this place and he gave me an appointment right on the spot. Needless to say I was humiliated and disgusted, Frankly, I am SHOCKED that you as a business would hire such a rude, ignorant & nasty person with a less than savory bed side manner, I did not deserve to be spoken to in such a degrading and insulting manner, I sincerely hope you can give Jamie a MUCH NEEDED crash course in "people skills" and dealing with the general public. Just. Don't. Go. Here. Horrible. If I could give 0 stars and it would show up, I would. Disgusting treatment when I went for cystoscope. I had been diagnosed with cancer. I took my records, left this practice and was accepted at Mayo Clinic. The only person with bedside manner was the PA. Ladies, there are NO gowns provided by the way, you undress in front of a nasty nurse and have to walk across the room to the table buck naked and she hands you a paper to cover up with when you sit down. Your dignity is of NO concern! Cranks that table up in the air and then leaves you for 30 minutes and you can't get down!!! If you fell from faintness from the heat that was in that room (I was told "oh, this room is always hot") you'd break your neck! You do NOT get a consult with a doctor, he just appears and begins the procedure, and then has one foot out the door as you are trying to ask questions. read more

WARNING DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!! Dr Zahalsky is the most unprofessional disrespectful doctor I have ever meet. Their office cannot keep an appointment time, you will wait for hours. On my initial appointment I waiting almost two hours past my appointment time only to be meet with a rude and sarcastic response from Dr Zahalsky when I complained. During his exam he was horrible and overly rough despite my obvious signs of pain and discomfort. I should have never returned buy due to my urgency to get the procedure done I went forward. The day before my procedure the office called and said they had an earlier appointment open and asked if I could make it. When I arrived for the earlier appointment I again waiting for almost two hours, mind you I had to fast from the day before and you would think they would try to hold to a time considering that. I expressed my frustration to the office staff and was basically told that he would get to me when he got to me. There was another person in the waiting room who was every more irate than I was about the same disrespect of her time having to wait for that long. When Dr Zahalsky finally walked into the room he proceeded to reprimand me for complaining about the wait and could not have been more unprofessional and disrespectful. Offered no attempt to apologize or anything that you would expect. After he continued to rudely reprimand me I said are you serious? I can just leave if that's the way you treat your patients and he said that he would not perform the scheduled procedure and to leave. He told me to leave minutes before because I complained about his excessive wait time! And to add he completely lied about the outcome of the procedure and what to expect after, not a bit of what he said was consistent with his initial comments or any other doctor. I feel he embellished the information intentionally so I would back out. This guy is an absolute little scum bag. read more

ZUrology is by far a supremely run machine with outstanding staff who are fortunate to work for Michael Zahalsky. If you observe and or are sensitive to the level of medical care you receive, you will find that professionalism is on full display at this office from Carla in front office to Gina who assists the doctor, just superior! I had a TURP surgery performed by Dr. Zahalsky recently in April and was concerned about post op issues and possible complications. It was wasted energy. I should have rested in the confident replies by Dr. Zahalsky to all of my concerns before surgery. He did not dodge and he was spot on! My recovery has been far above expectations and without sexual disfunction of any kind, no incontinence with minimal discomfort. My life has changed with more rest and not waking up all night. I have great appreciation for the skills and empathy of Dr. Michael Zahalsky who has found his calling to be the best he can be for his patients. I feel blessed to know him. read more

Dr. Zahalsky was great, but not so much to say about the girls that work in the front office/on the phones when you call. Attempted for them to fill my prescription several times but they never did after several attempts and multiple complaints to the office manager (Vicky) they finally filled them. The girls are rude, nasty and have no care for their patients. After this, they discharged me from the practice without even notifying me. I then ran out of my prescription and called for a refill and that's when I found out they discharged me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE. The building is fancy, but the attitudes are nasty. This doctor's office has twice lost my specimen which was to have been sent out for testing. What kind of urology office does not have the ability to test their own specimens in office? There is simply no excuse for this. Despite all the money that was invested in having TV screens in every room, I believe their money would have been better invested in having in office urine testing equipment. No complaints about Dr. Varghese, she seems genuinely compassionate and competent. But I do not have any more time to waste with lost specimens. read more

Went to the Coral springs office, very nice place, TV's running general knowledge stuff. Coffee and Water is available. The staff is professional and as a nurse that's important. I had an office procedure that went very well and the doctor took her time and answered all of our questions Dr. Varghese is awesome. She's busy yet still takes the time to answer your questions. I had an initial appointment in the Coral Springs office on November 23. The Dr I saw spent less than 5 minutes with me, then the PA finished the appointment. Since then, I've left 2 voicemail messages and have sent 2 additional email messages via their online portal. Have not heard back despite 4 different attempts. The 2 emails sent via their portal show as delivered. Not great service/patient care. All I need is a copy of my superbill and to know the results of my tests... read more

While Dr. Hallowell was wonderful when I was with him, it is completely unprofessional to make patients wait 60 minutes or more past their scheduled appointment time and this has happened on more than one visit. On my last visit for the results of a biopsy, I waited one hour in a 12'x12' room crammed with 15 patients (and only 10-11 chairs), there were even people waiting in the hallway because they couldn't get into the waiting room. I finally left. I don't know why anyone would put up with this kind of third-world care. When I complained to my insurance company, I got a registered letter informing me that the doctor would no longer treat me. Great bed side manners, efficient, and descriptive, Zahalsky was recommended to me by my regular doctor. I did research, and found that, yes, it's pretty much the best in the area. The waiting room has a make-your own coffee and water. It's strangely laid out with a number of chairs facing away from the TV, but it's big enough for them to configure and add to. Someone here mentioned that there were a dozen patients in the waiting room with more waiting out in the hallway, that's strange because there are 19 chairs here. I've been going here for almost 4 months and never waited more than 20 minutes. About the only real complaint I would have is that if you want to make an appointment, get used to making them a month or more in advanced. They are busy; there is nothing quick here, so forget about coming back a week later. That follow up visit will be a month or more later, and I hope you don't need an emergency. Also, don't be afraid of asking questions. It's easy for a doctor or nurse to overlook minor issues, such as where prescriptions go, which happened to me here at least once, but that's not a gripe against them because that's happened everywhere. Look, use common sense. There are bad days and good days for all of us, but if the issue is your insurance and not the nurse up front, don't yell at the nurse (Which is exactly what occurred when I was there). read more
