Having spent time at another local dance company that has a stringent plan of what classes they think kids should take and not actually taking the child's abilities in mind when recommending what classes the child should take next. Children have different abilities and learning styles and should NEVER be placed in a plan that everyone does it this way. My daughter is a current local pageant title holder and wants to participate in the talent competition at this year's State pageant. We asked for recommendations for a dance teacher and met Miss Betsy who has not only choreographed a dance for us but who's teaching style has helped my daughter learn that dance isn't just one way. It is made clear who her favorites are, and if you aren't one of them, then you get minimal attention. The horrible treatment of my daughter is what caused her to quit. The choreography is always the same, and at times can be very inappropriate. Jaime is often late to class and is unapologetic. She only makes an effort to have a relationship with the kids she favors. So if your thinking of enrolling your child in a dance class, I hope after reading this that you consider bringing them to one of the many excellent studios in the seacoast area that isn't fusion dance academy.

My sister has also been dancing at La Beatz for 5 years and is apart of the competition team. They are very passionate about the DRAMA FREE ZONE, and the instructors are quick to resolve / shut down any negativity. They offer a large number of hip hop classes for kids as young as 3 and up to 18 yrs old, with the occasional adult master classes. They also offer contemporary, Jazz, Acro, Aerial & more for ages 2.5 - 18. They offer Free Trials ( except for aerial ) for those who are unsure which style of dance they are interested in. Joining LA Beatz is more than a membership, it truly does become a family.
