79th & BROADWAY: EGGS, SWISS, CORNED BEEF ON A FRESH CHALLAH ROLL

Food was OK. A little dry. Nice open layout. But this was one of the worst service experiences I've had in years. At no time did they try and make it right. Never again.

A Real Sit Down Affair I thought maybe takeout vibes, but this is both - takeout and proper dining. Much bigger inside than expected. Great food - I suggest trying the Pumpernickel bread. Try the coffee too!!

Open for over 35 years, Zaidy's has been a true Denver staple with fantastic deli and bakery offerings. I don't want to bore you with the details of how amazing this place is so let me just tell you what I tried. What we tried: - Potato Latkes: Three perfectly crisp potato pancakes served warm with sour cream and homemade strawberry applesauce. - Challah French Toast: Three large slices topped with caramelized bananas, butter, and syrup. - Chocolate Egg Cream. - Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda. - Denver's Best Reuben: Corned beef, Russian dressing, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, all grilled on seeded rye. - Turkey Club: Swiss cheese, bacon, onion, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on toasted wheat bread. - Lemon Coconut Cake. Best bites: The Reuben? I don't know if it's Denver's best Reuben, but it's definitely the best one I've ever had. The corned beef, the dressing, and that rye bread--everything just worked. And the hand-cut fries? Easily an 11/10. The Challah French Toast was also a standout--sweet but not overwhelming, just perfect for brunch. If you haven't been, you need to go. They're open for breakfast and lunch every day, and don't forget to stock up on market goodies like bagels, soups, and desserts while you're there.

Stopped in right before closing for a to go surprise bag. Pick up was super easy and we got 1/2 dozen bagels and a blueberry pastry. Also grabbed a beautiful black and white because we couldn't not! The cashier was very friendly and the new layout makes frab and go orders so easy.

Cute Jewish Restaurant. I ordered the Mushroom and Barley Soup, and Potato Latke. Pretty good food and very friendly service. Try the desserts over on the bakery side so good.

3.5 stars - they only had one server on so the service was a lot slower than it should have been. Not her fault. There is no salt/seasoning on anything. Every dish needed salt. From the lattkes to the hamantaschen and rugulas. Please add more salt!!! 2 stars Corned beef & pastrami - so tough!!! 4.5 stars bagels and pumpernickel rye 5 stars on the crispy potatoes & fries (still needed salt) 3 stars on baked goods

I wanted this to be good like the original, but I was just disappointed. Nice inside though. I got the pastrami Reuben. Not as good as the original, which was no lie one of the best sandwiches ever. Pastrami was dry and way too thick and chewy/tough as a result. Bread was crispy but dry, whereas the original was toasted in butter and much better. Plus, what was delivered to me was a Reuben without sauerkraut but with cole slaw instead on top, not what I ordered, which was just a straight up pastrami Reuben. Wanted to change my order but the sever never checked in and I couldn't get the attention of others. So, I just ate it. Finished my whole meal before the server came over to ask how everything was. Mildly busy so I get it but also don't get it. Iced tea was empty for nearly the entire meal and the server asked if I'd like a refill and the check by the end ‍.

Stopped in for breakfast with the kiddo Saturday morning. It wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. Our sever was friendly and my coffee was always filled up. I had the breakfast sandwich on challah and she had the challah French toast. Everything came out pretty fast and was delicious. That challah bread is so tender and yummy, I could eat a whole loaf in one sitting (but okay, okay.. I won't). I need to go back and get some latkes!

The restaurant is immaculate and inviting. There is also a full bar! We loved it! As well as leftovers we got Incredible chocolate dipped pistachio rugelach cheese o take home...this place is perfect!!!

DENVER'S BEST REUBEN but with turkey

It seems like when I move all the cool stuff moves in. This is a great Jewish style deli they have here. It is super clean and has a very nice bakery/deli attached to the restaurant. Of course they offer the Denver staple Rosenberg bagels which are so great. Our waitress was very helpful and nice. I also tried the Rueben but with turkey. Next time, I will probably get the standard Reuben or try something else. It was good. The turkey was just a like dry which happens to lean meat. Can't

Latke Ruben and kugel on the side
    Lauren H.

Came for the Latke Ruben and it did not disappoint! So fresh and delicious! Reminds me of delis back in Chicago. Great food and great service. Got the kugel which reminded my husband of his mom's recipe and made him very happy. Just wish it was open longer than 2:30, needs to be updated on google to be correct. They are open until 2 during the week and 2:30 on the weekend!

    Sufganiot
    Amy B.

I had sufganiot (jelly-filled donuts that are a traditional dish for Chanukah) from Zaidy's Deli & Bakery. I'm not sure if they offer sufganiot throughout the year or if it's a seasonal thing since it's now December and Chanukah starts next week, but either way, the sufganiot were great and I'd definitely have them again. They weren't too oily or too sweet or too powdery and the texture was just right. Ambiance and service were fine, but I can't speak much to them because I got these sufganiot to go. I'd like to try other items at this non-kosher Jewish deli one day!

The food has gone way down hill. I ordered a corned beef sandwich which was dry and tasteless and very skimpy on the meat.

Ask the Community - Zaidy’s Deli & Bakery

    Are your meats Kosher?

I doubt they are because the restaurant also serves bacon, sausage, and ham as well as sandwiches with cheese on them and they only have one kitchen.

Do you know if any of the menu items are or can be made vegan?

Yes, they have vegan items-check their web page for more specific info. Hope this helps!

    Do you take reservations?

No they don't. It's first come first serve, at least from the last time I was there.

What are the operating hours thank you?

Zaidy's is currently open from 7am - 2PM Tuesday through Sunday. Closed mondays.

They simply Do Not care about general food safety getting a hot meal here is rather risky I will explain why. My friend was a cook here for a short while and quit on them once he realized they care nothing about serving food that is safe to eat, he saw them do sooo many things that would easily make the food contaminated and unsafe to eat and somehow that was there process of doing things. Here are a couple examples of menu items one should try to steer clear of Chicken parm sandwich- they cook off a large batch of the chicken cutlets and let them sit at room temp for a hour or two until someone orders one they refries them for a minute or so, your supposed to keep food hot once it is cooked especially chicken to leave cooked chicken at room temp for so long is extremely risky to the public's health. Meatball sandwich- they leave there meatballs on the hot line all day then they save all of the hot food items from the day and reuse them the next day without properly cooling any of the food and the cooks will leave these item sit out at room temp for about 45 mins before even putting them into the cooler. Many issues with this practice first of all hot food should be discarded after 5 hours according to the health department because after 5 hours it will start growing bacteria, to leave it on a hot line all day then save them for the next day and not even cool them down properly is Crazy risky to people's health and they do not just do this with the meatballs they do it for many of there hot dishes they are used for days on in, not properly cooled and not properly tracked for how many times it has been reheated and such me they keep them in the same pans it's flat out gross. Other issues my friend encountered there was never seeing anyone at all wash there hands at any point in time, a ancient dishwashing machine that didn't clean anything at all it didn't even get hot so half of there dishes are greasy and have food residue on them, in his short time there he saw people fired for no reason what's so ever from what he was told the owner fires people left and right and doesn't even give reasons as to why, that's why they have ads up on indeed looking for employees 24/7.
