I can't rave enough about Zamin Construction! The work that John did in our apartment was absolutely perfect - nothing was a problem, John was punctual, knows everything there is to know about construction from plumbing and electricity to tile laying. To be specific, we were referred to John from Supreme Bath Refinishing Inc. (separate 5 start review on that) to lay the tile for our bathroom. The tile we chose was difficult to lay but John did an incredible job with every detail taken care of, removing the toilet, caulking the sides and even selecting the perfect color grout for the tile. Then, because John is so much MORE than a tile layer, he mentioned he could change out our fixtures, install a new light, install our new toilet and he did all of this for us efficiently and perfectly. John does not rush his jobs - he really cares and has a great aesthetic (which is not the norm for contractors) and understands how everything needs to come together. He'll go to the hardware store or home depot to get specific parts if needed all with good cheer. Also he is meticulous and cleans up everything so there is no mess at all. We are now going to redo our kitchen in the coming months and we are SO SO happy we now have a trained professional to go to that can do everything that we need. I never write bad yelp reviews-but since I found Zamin from yelp, and he had 5 stars, I figured I had to write to help other people in the future since this was low quality work. I paid John to build a frame for a walk in & shoe closet and it is so poorly done I have to hire someone else to re-do it. EVEN AFTER PAYING JOHN FULL PRICE he did not complete the job properly. Money down the drain. He gets 2 Stars because he was at least nice the whole time - even though his work was bad. The wall extension he built bulges out and my wall is cracking now. This is a MAJOR ISSUE. Also, the bevel on the doors are uneven, one is twice the size of another. The trim on bottom of the wall is not seamless, he just slapped on a new piece of wood that doesn't match. He had to make some changes where he sloppily just ripped the wood out of the wall, didn't put any paint or finish on it (I think it was because I already paid him and he stop caring). Let me not forget to mention that he build a shoe closet that doesn't even fit his own shoe - it is not deep enough. There is more but I am done complaining. I now know that I should never trust when a contractor has you pay them, and having them say that "he will always be ready to fix things because his job is his life" - he obviously didn't care after he was paid. That's about 6K down the drain. read more

I don't usually leave reviews unless its either really good or really bad service. Hands down the best contractor I have ever dealt with. I had two contractors work on my place and was always left wondering what the hell did I do. It all started when I originally I wanted to get my bathtub resurfaced, but it was impossible without damaging the walls. So I got a reference for John from the resurfacing company (Thank you Frank at Supreme Bath Refinishing, Found him on Yelp) My bathroom is pretty small, but they made improvements and raised the roof to make it more roomy. One of the best decisions I ever made. John and his workers redid my entire bathroom, in fact I was so impressed I had them do the entire apartment. No matter how many tasks I added, John was always willing and up to it, from A to Z. You can tell when someone loves what they do for a living. At the end of the project they made sure everything was exactly as I requested. I am not the easiest person to please, but they really did an excellent job with great attention to detail. All my guests have complimented me on the entire place, in fact I have already gotten quite a few requests for John's number. John is truly a jack of all trades, electrical, plumping and construction. Kind of like a one stop shop for getting the job done.
