It a small place and my mistake it was definitely not a family place with kids. We were around the corner and we were so hungry, that when I saw favorable reviews we went in without understanding that it was a bar, again my mistake. Going in I felt this is definitely not kid friendly but it was almost empty and we were hungry, so we thought lets just eat rather than finding another eating joint. That being said, I will say the food didn't disappoint. For the area, the pricing, taste, freshness it is amazing. I took off some stars because even in this covid period no one in the restaurant wore masks even the server or the cook. That really made me uncomfortable. Wings were good, fish 'n chips were good. Fish taco was little small maybe 2 adult bite size but overall the kids were happy and their tummy were full and most importantly for the price I paid I would say it was worth it but again definitely not kid friendly. read more

This is one of the only dive bars in Aspen. It's a favorite "apres ski" bar with local riders, lifties, and the crews that work the mountain. But, the crowd here hates the term "apres ski". Decent Jukebox and the beer is cheap(for Aspen). Typical bar menu(45 cent wings) and lots of philly cheesteak style sandwiches--all average at best. -If you're looking for a semi crowded local dive bar-you found it. Walking around Aspen with some jet lag and stumbled upon this place. Bartender was friendly and helpful. I'm a wings guy and they claim the best wings in Aspen. Order of 10 half hot (Franks's Hot Sauce) and half Asian chili. They were served hot and crispy. It also doesn't hurt that they're located right under a dispensary. Perfect mix of bar and food. Think I'll try the Philly Egg Rolls later in the week. As an East Coast Insomniac, this is gonna be my hanging spot no doubt. read more

Zane's does one thing exceptionally well: Their wings are so delicious. You must go any day of the week from 4-6 PM for the Happy Hour special of $.50 wings. I ordered five hot wings one night, and they were some of the best wings I have ever had. The Korean BBQ and Terriaki I sampled from my friends' plates were good too. These wings are super meaty and wonderful. Other experiences were significantly more lackluster. Zane's is dive bar ish, but I wasn't really impressed with the bar food options. I ordered the Fried Mac & Cheese ($8.95) one night, and it was on par with the fast-food version. For the price, totally not worth it. Other appetizers did not impress me either. Service is hit-or-miss. The tacos are supposedly quite good. This was never one of my top places to come in Aspen, but it's OK. Credit cards accepted. read more

Especially the tater tots. I consider myself a tater tot connoisseur and these delightfully crunchy nuggets were the best I have ever eaten. Zane's Tavern is one of my favorite local hangouts. Just the other day I had a really rough night at work and every other restaurant in town was closed for food by the one my shift ended. Zanes stays open late and I love them for that reason. Red,the bartender, had my chili ready the second I walked in the door and a nice strong Don Julio drink. He saved my night and my sanity and by default the customers that I serve at my restaurants' as well. I love coming here for football Sundays and any other night that I just need to have a drink and relax with chill people. No pretense, just a good old fashioned neighborhood bar. read more

My wife was busy one night, so I was looking for a chill place to grab a beer and some food. I lucked out finding this place. It was totally chill and I grabbed a seat at the bar. I had a couple of tasty Shock Tops before ordering some wings (apparently the local specialty). I wasn't even that hungry, but they were amazingly delicious. They were steaming hot (as in straight out of the fryer hot), and coated with the delicious original hot sauce. I would definitely go back just to sample a different variety. Best burgers ever. I had zanes burger. Must try. I just didn't like how it was so dark in there and so clustered and small. I would give this place zero if I could. First time visiting Aspen. Stopped in for 1 beer on Wed 1/15/2020. I was verbally attacked and abused by a regular patron of theirs.... because I asked "Kiki" a question. The bartender and other regular patrons did nothing to stop it. I felt my personal safety was threatened. My friend and I finished our beer and left without tipping the bartender. The bartender clearly knew what was going on in front of her and allowed it. I refuse to give my money to an establishment like this. I work for a private jet management company and make recommendations to my clients and this is definitely not be a place anybody should go to. Not a pleasant environment. We were even followed by a "regular" gentleman down the street after leaving. read more

Pretty cool spot for late night drinks and happy hour. I wasn't able to go to happy hour but came across it while exploring Aspen for late night eats with friends during our first night. It was a weeknight so it wasn't packed. My friends ordered the mac and cheese wedges, which are a definite must! My bf and I shared a mushroom philly and a house salad and it was pretty good. Place isn't too huge, so if it's a weekend night, happy hour, or game day/night, try to get there early. Aspen is an upscale, fancy town, and it needs a few places like Zane's - divey, casual sports bars. If you're in need of a break from fancy, expensive food, you can get a pitcher and wings or a burger or fish tacos at Zane's. This is the spot to go watch a football game if you're in Aspen during the winter. The beer selection is great (they have several New Belgium offerings on tap including the Ranger IPA and the Sunshine Wheat) The food is pretty good here -- they do great comfort food as well as have some excellent sandwiches, burgers, etc. The wings are the best I've had in Aspen so far We went here at least 3 times when we were out in December for a vacation. After eating at Zane's I had indigestion for two days. Zanes signature poppers literally destroyed the lining of both my large/small intestine allowing a seemingly endless stream of feces out of the darkness of my butthole. Several days after my experience at Zanes my friends and I continued talking about how we wanted to go back, semi serious at times , but mostly we all knew that Zanes was now synonymous with a terrible shitting experience. We even joked about driving a snowmobile down a hill and through the bar/restaurants facade. 5/5 read more

If you're looking for any sort of 'nightlife' in Snowmass, this is where to come. It seems to be the only place with any sort of crowd after 8 pm. Also, if you're wanting to watch some sort of sports, this would be the place. We came here a couple of times on my last trip to Snowmass....one time to watch the Gophers NCAA game. They were the only place showing multiple games. And we also came once since we were looking for some drinks after 8 pm. I've only eaten the wings here and they were delicious. Added bonus is that they have happy hour wings. Beer selection is limited. They only had 3 on tap and one of them was Budweiser, so might as well say they only have two beers on tap. Zane's is also the place the most locals hang, which is a nice alternative to the touristy spots. read more

I wouldn't really classify this as a dive. People say the tatter tots are great, but I would find it hard to not make great deep fried tater tots. It's not like they're hand making them or anything. The wings are terrible and have made me sick. The cheesesteak is probably the best in the valley but for someone from the East Coast (Zane or whatever is from Cherry Hill, NJ) it's appalling. Now forget all that. It's a good bar. It is especially good on St. Patty's day. Start at the Catholic Church down the street and move up there an stay there. Just got horrible service, 3 of us took 5-10 minutes to get our drinks ordered, when we got our drinks we placed our food order. We could see our order sitting in the window and no one was bringing it over, a couple orders cam and went and ours never moved. We eventually decided to tell the guy at the bar that we wanted our food to go, all he said was, "your food is sitting right there it'll be right out!" But of course we knew that our food was there, it had been there at least 5-10 minutes. and keeping on with our theme, It easily took another 5 minutes to get our food boxed up and ready to go. Did I mention that we never were offered a 2nd beer or refills on our lemonade either. Won't be coming back anytime soon or ever! If this place was in just about any other town it would be nothing to write home about. But for Aspen it was just about the only place where you can sit down at the bar, maybe do a shot and BS with the locals. Met some cool guys, long time residents there for happy hour and had a nice chat about music, Aspen, HST and so on. Dive-like in nature, but still comfortable. Could the bartender be less interested? I don't think so. We walked up to the bar on a Monday night, sat down to watch MNF. The place wasn't crowded when we got there at about 8pm but it did get more crowded as the night went on. The bartender gave me a menu and took our drink order. For some reason he never asked if I wanted anything. Not even close. Not even a "you good?" I was sitting at the bar...right in front of him. Wouldn't you want to sell more. Perhaps I foolishly think that is how places make money. Needless to say, I didn't. Eventually we paid for our drinks and left. This place is great! I have been to the one in Snowmass too and I perfer this one. Its close to everything in downtown Aspen and has a great pub feel. This place is mostly filled with locals and you have to make sure you stop by here for their awesome happy hour. I believe from 4-6, everyday, they have $7 bud or bud lite pitchers and 50 cent wings. We got the cajun, hot and asian garlic. Now these are good size wings for 50 cents and the flavors are great! The bartender always came by and made sure we had our pitcher filled. Its nice to go somewhere in Aspen that wont break the bank and has good food. A must for anybody looking for a good time. read more

If you go to Zanes you have to try the Buffalo Bites and the Macaroni Wedges, there for sure my favorite, but there is many other great bar type food here, from burgers, pizza, and even mexican food. Their Happy Hour consist of something around $7 pitchers of bud or bud light and 50 cent wings. I don't think you can really beat that price in this valley. Maybe somewhere has but i haven't found it. Sometimes the bartender is very nice and helpful, but ever once in a while you get one that kind of rude. Otherwise I love coming here as the food and beer is great and cheap. They have plenty of TV's in every direction as well. read more
