Mood: date night with Bruce Bruce Comedy show was amazing. Bruce Bruce was funny as always and a joy to hear. My issue was the venue itself. The layout is horrible- seating arrangements was not made for adults. Either sitting too close or in weird angle. Definitely not enough space for servers or people that HAVE to buy two items. Not a fan of that set up. Tickets can't be downloaded digitally is also very strange- waiting in a parking lot until show time unless you buy a drink prior to show. I am 6'3 and could not get comfortable to enjoy the show in full action because someone was literally elbow in my side & person in front of me in my lap basically. No thank you. This time we went to see Godfrey, who I think is hilarious. Even his opening act, Mike James, was laugh out loud funny. Zanies had Josh Johnson a while ago before his tour blew up and the tickets were like 30ish bucks. They book good acts pretty consistently. As I've said previously, they pack people in. Chairs are jammed together, especially up front. But we made it work and had a good view right next to the stage. We did buy VIP tickets (not all shows offer those) so that played into it. There really isn't a terrible seat in the house, but the upstairs tables are arranged perpendicular to the stage. Doors open at 5:30 for the 7 PM show. I recommend getting there early, snagging a good seat, and having some bar grub. The food isn't amazing, but it meets expectations for this type of venue. Smash burgers, wings, pretzel bites, quesadillas. Again, drinks are okay, maybe a little weak, but that's not unexpected either. Three drinks, pretzel bites, smash burger, and tip was about 100 bucks. The 18 percent gratuity is automatic. I say arrive at 5:30 because we arrived at 6:30 (traffic) and all the free Zanies parking was full. We parked at the pay lot across the street, next to the additional Zanies lot, which defaults to 12 hours duration and costs 30 bucks. When we left the show a little after 9, that was full too. Getting into the show upon arrival was easy, fast, and efficient. Also, some shows will have you lock your phone in a Yondr case, as the Godfrey show did (the Adam Conover show we went to a few years ago didn't have them). I had such a fun night at Zanies for book trivia! The whole vibe was just perfect--lively, engaging, and such a great place to hang out. The drinks were really good (and definitely a little strong... not complaining at all ). The food honestly surprised me in the best way--chicken fingers and sweet potato fries were so yummy, and the honey mustard + ketchup combo was perfection. And the chocolate mousse cake? Absolute bomb. But what really made the night was our server, Charisma--she was AMAZING. Super friendly, attentive, and just added to the whole experience. Disappointed by my recent experience at Zanies. Was looking forward to coming here but will not be returning. The show itself was decent, however, I could not see anything for the entirety of the show. I am genuinely surprised that they would even place a table where we seated. We were located in a far back corner next to the stairs and directly in front of the bathroom. Our view was blocked by a structural pillar, so that the entire comedy show was basically like listening to a podcast. Not to mention, we were subjected to be extremely bright bathroom lights anytime someone used the men's room. There is a two item minimum per person, but I cannot recommend ordering any food. My friend ordered a cheeseburger (cheese is $1 extra btw) but received no cheese. Additionally, I was surprised to find that even additional basic condiments were an extra charge upon receiving our check. This is unfortunate because the food is quite underwhelming. The burger was dry and flavorless, and the fries were both soggy and hard. The single serving of ketchup I was initially allotted with my order was nowhere near enough to make the meal enjoyable. We ordered a $35 pitcher of the strawberry lemonade cocktail to share. It tasted like your basic well drink, but was strong enough. By the way, we were told tito's is considered a premium vodka here and is an extra $10. There is also 18% auto gratuity on your tab. Normally, I would not mind paying this in an entertainment establishment, but the service was shockingly slow. Our total for burgers and the pitcher alone came close to $90. Honestly sad because the upcoming Zanies lineup is decent, but my experience here detracted from the comedy itself and has deterred me from coming back. Dear Zanies Nashville Management, I am writing to issue a formal and urgent complaint regarding the unacceptable treatment my family and I experienced at your venue on July 3, 2026, for the 9:15 PM Bill Bellamy show. We arrived at approximately 8:15 PM and waited outside in an orderly line, as instructed, along with roughly fifteen other patrons who arrived early. The doors were scheduled to open at 8:45 p.m. Around 8:50 PM, an employee informed a few of us that the show would be delayed and stated that anyone who wished to purchase a drink could do so inside the bar. What followed was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and deeply disrespectful. As more guests arrived, this same employee repeatedly encouraged later-arriving patrons to go inside and buy drinks. The bar line grew substantially. We were then told that those individuals who arrived later and purchased drinks would be allowed to bypass the line and be escorted into the venue ahead of everyone who had been waiting outside for nearly an hour. This decision was not only unfair, but it was also blatantly discriminatory toward the customers who followed the rules. My family, along with many others who waited patiently and respectfully, were pushed aside and disregarded. When I attempted to address the issue with multiple employees, including the security guard and a manager, each response was rude, dismissive, and completely lacking accountability. The employee who initially encouraged people to enter the bar later claimed that he had informed patrons that buying drinks would allow them to skip the line. This was absolutely false. No such policy was communicated to those of us waiting outside. If this is indeed a policy, it is deceptive and should be clearly published and disclosed at the time tickets are purchased. This experience reflects a serious failure in customer service, communication, and basic respect for paying patrons. It is the most discourteous and misleading process I have ever encountered at an entertainment venue. Customers, especially those who purchase priority seating, should never be treated in such a deceitful and dismissive manner. The owner of Zanies Nashville needs to be made aware of how poorly this situation was handled. I am requesting a formal written response regarding this matter. This place is a great time and I'll break this review up so you can read what you want to Food: I've eaten at the lab for brunch and the food was okay. I got the pizza which was creative but nothing to write home about. On the zanies side I religiously get chicken and cheese. The chicken tendies are huge and the cheese sticks are delicious. This is a good bang for your buck since you have to buy food. It's delicious and I always ask for every sauce as a sauce queen. Recently, I tried the shrimp and fries which also thought was good. Together, between two people, these two things make for a good sampler. Because they often require you to put your phone in a bag there isn't any pictures of the food I can provide but it's like your standard bar food and it's good! Drinks: drinks are average priced but can add up quickly and the servers are clever about asking if you want a double. Since they are busy and often you'll be watching a show this can seem like a good idea but it'll add up fast. I'd suggest sticking to singles or beer if you want to be cost effective. Seats: if you get there early, say 30-40 minutes before a show depending on the performer there really is no need to buy VIP because you'll be seated in about the same "splash zone" area as VIP. So save yourself the money because the view is just as good. Just beware that the earlier you are there in line, the better your view will be. There's a chance you'll be seated upstairs or at the bar and not every seat is a good one. You will be sat with other people as well. It's tables and if your party doesn't fill the whole table, they will fill it for you. Staff: the staff is super attentive and they are great about making sure you have what you need but be patient with them! You're not their only table and they are doing their best to serve you but also not distract you from what you are there for. Tip is included. It's 18% which feels fair and saves you from having to figure it out. Atmosphere: tables are cozy so keep that in mind. You have some room to spread out but it's close. It also tends to get cold in there so I'd suggest a jacket. read more

I have now been to more comedy shows, and can confidently say that Zanies is figuring out the seating/dining situation. When you are allowed inside, it is first come first serve seating. Even if someone else is sitting at a table, if there is an open seat, you can sit at it. Service staff are quick to address those that sit, sticking to their sections and making the rounds to make sure that everyone has been seen. Staff came by frequently to make sure that we were still good, even during sets (mostly communicated via thumbs up/thumbs down "you good?). Drinks were fantastic, the food was OK. We saw Ms Pat during a weekend afternoon in Dec 2024. Overall good experience, only complaints are the variability of seating and slow food service. Free parking was great. We came around 15 min before doors open and there were several open spots. We were surprised with the line to get in for this show, given it was raining and an early afternoon show. After getting in, they checked our ID to lookup the reservation and seated us. The seating seems like it's up to the usher and what's available. We were offered either a bar top with a stool or sitting in the upstairs area. We chose the bar top. The area right in front of the stage is reserved for VIP Service was the lowlight. We got in as doors opened, saw other people around us get served, and finally had to ask an usher to find which server was supposed to serve us. Disappointing. Food selection and prices were fair. Gratuity is automatically included in the bill. They handed out the cell phone bags (YONDR) but they were not strictly enforced. Show was good, but that is obviously dependent on the act. Great spot for a comedy show! I have been here a handful of times and have had a good experience each time. The two item minimum can get pricey depending on what you order and the seating can be very tight. There are now two areas of Zanies, the main room and The Lab which does help them host more events here. Parking is free but can fill up quickly as the lot behind the building isn't that big. I thought the talent was very good, and there was a variety of different comedic styles. They even had a couple magicians testing their material. We sat next to the stage, so there was a lot of interaction with the comedians. My husband was a participant on stage during a comedy show. They always do a good job about making sure people respect the performers, and the servers are always attentive. Funny fact! I very much remember VIP tickets being sold out when I bought them for Gianmarco Soresi's 7:00 performance tonight. So, I had to buy GA. No big deal. One of our events fell through, so we decided to try our luck and see if they would let us in at the door . Everything coming up spades they let us in ! This was my first visit to Zanies seeing Tony Baker and he did not disappoint. This is a staple comedy club in Nashville and the comedy industry! It's awesome to see all of your past professional comedians / headliners portraits displayed on the walls - nearly 40 year's worth. It is a cozy and intimate venue yet still large enough in size for plenty of table seating and a second floor with more seating. What I love about Zanies is the free convenient parking, easy check in and affordable menu prices. The service was great also! Our server was so pleasant and quick. After standing in line outside for a little before doors opened, security checked our bags and they simply used our drivers license to check us in. Each patron is required to purchase two items minimum from the menu, but luckily the prices aren't too bad. I had a mocktail and some sweet potato fries. My order came out pretty fast. If you like honey mustard I'd recommend asking for two because they only filled my sauce to halfway. Both the waffle fries & strawberry lemonade were both tasty. The fries were crispy and sweet. They had pouches for us to put our phones in during the show since photography & video isn't allowed during the show. I had a great night of hilarity seeing DC Ervin and Tony Baker. I visited Zanies during a recent trip to Nashville. I purchased the tickets online and arrived 45 minutes prior to the start of the show. We had tickets for the 9:15 pm show, so we had to wait for the first show to let out. We were led to believe that if we purchased a drink at the bar inside the lobby area, we'd be able to enter the showcase area before the people who hadn't purchased drinks. This turned out to be LIE. Zanies shares the space with another comedy showcase, so you have to enter the theater area from outside. The entrance for the second show is outside of the lobby and around the corner. If you happen to be standing near the back of the lobby area, then you get to enter the showcase area first. Zanies employees eventually had everyone line up in the cold for 15 minutes before letting people inside, separated by party size. VIP patrons were seated at two large tables right in front of the stage. My party ended up seating adjacent to the VIP section. It was nice because we had space to spread out, and no one was seated in front of us. Our waitress was a bit slow to respond, but she was friendly and was probably doing the best she could. We tipped her $10 on top of the 18% gratuity included on each check. The show was hilarious. We enjoyed Lavell Crawford as well as his supporting acts. We paid our respective bills without incident. The food was average bar food. It was nothing special but not the worst I've ever had. We ordered the chicken tenders, nachos, pretzel bites, and a variety of drinks. The drinks were all pretty good. The food was average at best. Our bill was $118, which wasn't too bad. The tickets (4) were $150. Overall, our experience was positive once we were seated. Getting inside the performance area was frustrating and time-consuming. Zanies management could do a better job tightening up their procedures to ensure that things run more smoothly for patrons. There seemed to be only one employee dealing with customers, and she took the path of least resistance by doing all she could to pacify individuals by saying whatever came to mind. read more

I ordered three rye whiskies (on the rocks) during my visit and received a bill (I wish I kept a copy to upload) for $10 per drink PLUS $2 for "the rocks"! They charge $2 for ice for each drink. Just wow! I asked the server about the charges, and she asked the manager to remove them. He came over and refused. He was a complete jerk. I live in Nashville, but I won't go back to Zanies. I've come here a few times and have always enjoyed the shows. We never really had to stand in line the times we came, but we also never come early lol. We usually come when the shows are about to start. Seats have always been first come first serve every time I came here. They can also take your phones depending on the show. I've come here a previous time where I remember them locking up my phone. This recent time, they told everyone not to use their phones, but didn't really enforce anyone on locking up their phones. Parking: the parking behind Zanies gets full fast. The times I've come here, we never got a parking back there. There's a few spots to park in the parking lot beside Zanies.
