He provided an estimate in a couple of days, which included a breakout of labor & materials. Jason provided us with Trex entry steps, repaired (2) vinyl siding corners, installed a granite mailbox post, closed off our wood basement steps & provided an access door to the shutoff valves for our shower. Everything came out absolutely as expected & then some. The front steps came out better than we thought! We were comfortable with trusting that Jason knew what to order & do it properly. I was given the opportunity to pick out the color for the steps (though it added a little to the cost), but I appreciate that I had a say in what was installed. Upon accepting the quote, Jason provided a start date, which he adhered to. He was here on the very day he said he would & at the approximate window of time. To get started he requested an Invoice for the materials, which can easily be paid via Quickbooks. It was so easy to accept the quote & make the payment. The Invoice for the balance can be paid the same way. If you have any questions, Jason replies right away. We primarily communicated via email. I thought at times I was pestering him with questions, but it didn't bother him at all from what I could tell. When we pointed out a couple of small errors, he immediately corrected them. No arguing, just made it right. That's rare these days! We have more projects in the pipeline & Jason is definitely hired for that work, such as a small deck, fencing, drop-down ceiling in the basement, a bar & a platform for my washer & dryer. No doubt that the process for the future work will go as seamlessly as these projects did.

In fact, because of our history, we expected both outstanding carpentry and very little stress. Planning the project with Jeremy and Lauren Milligan, his design associate, made the decision making of the design process far less intimidating. The team's consistent communication was impressive! Living two hours away from our townhouse, we were delighted to receive daily status reports containing project videos and photos. Every Thursday at 2:30, Jason would initiate a Zoom meeting, during which he would provide a comprehensive project report, show us his progress, and ask our opinion! During every weekly Zoom meeting, Jason requested a positive and a negative comment. Although we were sorry to disappoint him, we never could share a negative. Furthermore, he would occasionally call to ask for our preference on the position of a knob, to clarify the color of the fireplace trim, etc. The quality of his work and that of the subcontractors was excellent. However, excellence did not come as a surprise. In all our Lighthouse projects, the professionalism, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and pride of the team were obvious! Furthermore, in all the projects that Lighthouse has completed for us, we noticed not only the congeniality of the crew but also their admiration for Jeremy. Remarkably, every member of the team shared a dedication to quality work, but they were also respectful, approachable, and considerate of each other and us. I began with our expectations; quite frankly, the Lighthouse team has consistently exceeded our expectations. Once again, they completed our project on time and on budget! Thanks to the lack of knowledge that these 2 men have! The extra loan funds we had borrowed for the cosmetic upgrades that we wanted to do, is now completely gone for major structural repairs....which was OVER 50k! It is a father & son "team"...I use that word loosely. The father wandered around aimlessly playing with his new inferred toy he got, which shows heat loss. The father proceeded to wander around in the different rooms more than once because he couldn't remember if he went in there! Our camp is only 950 sq ft! He was to busy complaining about staying up all night with a sick dog. He never took any real notes for the inspection report we were supposed to receive. Then his son runs around taking pictures in various spaces...attic, crawl space...etc but that's it. We certainly understand & feel bad about his sick dog but we paid him for a quality inspection service. If he wasn't up for the appointment then he should have cancelled. Then about his new toy.....I call bull shit! 2 out of the 3 waterside walls are completely rotted & lacked any type of insulation. What's really funny is that the father kept saying he couldn't believe that this camp was in such good shape & well maintained.....which he said is rare with buildings on the water because the waterside tends to rot!!! Seriously! WTH! If we had known about all of what we know now...we probably wouldn't have bought it or would have offered the sellers a lot less purchase price!!!! See attached photos. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!

I hope Darrin is able to recover and get better but this has been a horrible experience filled with lies and stress.
