Horrible service. Lady was very rude. Dirty not kept up. We asked nicely for the extra ranches we bought. And we brought in the receipt and needed more proof. Because she said she "gave them to us". She in fact did not give them to us. This isn't the first time something like this has happened at this location when I have gone. Do not recommend this Zaxbys. Slow, dirty, and old. Normally I love Zaxby's, but I won't be returning here. The service was slower than a turtle and the wait staff was very snappy. When I got to my seat it was lopsided and the table was sticky. The food came and not much better. The sandwich and sauce was warm at best, yet the fries were boiling hot. Ive ordered countless times from them but recently they have been "refunding" my order and then saying they couldn't make it. I work till 10 at night and by the time I get home I want to order food, since they close in about 45 minutes I try to make it quick, after about 20 mins of waiting I get a notification that says they can't. So they wasted my time because they were feeling lazy? or maybe its just incompetence. This has happened about 5 times and when I do get the food it's usually not correct, maybe because it's late but as someone who has worked in fast food, I could never. Each and every time I end up at one of this brand's establishment I leave asking why I wasted $9 on food that does not hit the mark for the money you pay. Today I stopped in to grab a quick lunch...I presented a voucher I received from a franchisee partner that owns locations in 4 states, including NC. The manager(maybe?!?)told me they don't honor these because it was on a card the franchisee had from another state...not, let me check on that for you... I was the only one in line and rather then attempt to help verify, he told me they won't honor it...just seemed like if he wanted to provide a great customer experience to each person he would have maybe looked at the franchisee information to confirm it was legitimate vs. just flat out no. Oh well, the fries are consistently undercooked and forget asking to leave anything off from the "Zax-way" if assembling a sandwich...I see the cashier make the modification but it consistently gets somehow lost in translation to the one make the sandwich... ...no pickles either?!? I guess it's back to supporting "hate-fil-a" again anytime I am forced to stop for something quick...smh! read more

This location was listed on an interstate sign with several other fast food restaurants. We hadn't had zaxbys in a while so we decided it was time. The entire chain got rid of the chicken salad sandwich so I was a bit sad about that, so I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich and fries. My hubby ordered a chicken strip meal with fries and the new spicy mushrooms. All food tasted great! Compared to other restaurant chains zaxbys is pricey and they charge for extra condiments/sauces. Our total was $26. I definitely recommend this establishment, just be prepared to shell out a little more cash than other chicken restaurant chains. read more

We have never eaten at a Zaxby's before...and after today it's doubtful we ever will again. Not because we don't like fast food - we do - but we absolutely don't like being overcharged - grossly! - for mediocre food anywhere. We love deep fried pickles and have wanted to try Zaxby's ever since we saw their ads. So today was that moment. We paid $3.99 for an order and ended up getting 15 individual pickle chips. That's $0.27 per each pickle slice. What's more the batter seemed pretty likely to have been commercially applied and the chips frozen ahead of times like French fries. Think about that for a moment. Does that seem like a fair price for deep fried pickles? That may have been frozen? Not to us, when we can go to other, better casual dining spots and pay $1-2 more and get a basket of 30 or more chips. And freshly battered and prepared on the spot. No thanks. read more

This Zaxbys has gotten so bad! The service is super slow. They'll have 4 cars pull over to the side to wait on their orders. On top of that, the last few times I've been here they've messed up my order, my order was missing items, or they gave me the wrong food. The customer service is not up to par at all. This place hasn't fallen off hard in the last few months not sure what's going but took my pregnant wife to get a sandwich didn't get what we ordered and mine sandwich had a foot long hair wrapped around a tender in my sandwich. I felt the need to add a review, since the only other review is so negative and from 3 years ago. Visiting from Ohio and came across this location and was stoked, as we haven't had Zaxby's since we lived in Florida 5 years ago. We dined around 5:30pm on a weeknight, and had no one in line in front of us, but had four adults in out group. Ordering was a breeze, and the cashier was very cordial. Our food was ready within 5-10 minutes and was piping hot. The whole order was correct and tasty. My only complaint was the Texas toast didn't seem as fresh as I feel it should have, but it was still good. The location is clean and has the typical Zaxby's decor. If you live nearby, you're lucky! read more

Worst zaxbys I have been too, food is gross. only giving 2 because the workers are nice.

The fries were much soggier than a normal Zax fry. And letme get this straight, I easy zaxbys all the time and I have never gotten as much gas from a kicken chicken sandwich before. It was an impressively smelly car ride back to atlanta with all the tummy gurgling that Zaxby's caused. If you eat here, make sure you have a dedicated bathroom and you wont be stuck in a car for a long time! read more

If you only do one thing, it's kinda hard to mess it up. They do chicken tenders. Avoid the fried pickles, as they are always floating in grease. The food(chicken) is fairly consistent and the employees helpful. We never have to wait long for our order, regardless of how crowded it is. Because the restaurant is located close to the interstate and several hotels, you occasionally have to deal with loud and obnoxious groups that type of location brings in. read more

Hello, very disappointed with the Zaxby's on lenoir rhyne blvb in Hickory NC, went to sit down to eat last week, first of all the condiment stand was filthy, my drink cups were stuck to the tabletop from all the dried syrup on it, Next went to sit down, they had blocked off almost all the seating area, so they could run out the door at 10:00pm. There was only 8 seating booths left, but 6 tables were dirty, and the other 2 had trash on floor around the booths, so I asked a manager if she could clean the tables so we could sit down, when she came to clean the table, her rag was so soaking wet, that when she cleaned the table water when everywhere, all over the table and in the seat, than she just went to the next table not even drying the table or seat, so we go get napkins to dry the table and seats off, mean while she just watches us????? after that I go to wash my hands, no soap or paper towels in bathroom??? that's it!!! i'm outta here!! went to manager to get food refund and left, manager didn't apologize for anything?? save some time, and eat some where else.... read more

I went there the other day with my family because my brother was visiting from California and he loves Zaxby's. We always have to order extra sauce, which they charge you 25 cent for. Well they didn't give us the correct amount of sauce so I simply told them we were missing one and the lady was extremely rude and started arguing with me that she gave them to us. I showed her there receipt and she still argued and started yelling and wouldn't give us the extra sauce we paid for! On top of that the chicken strips were so tiny! We will not be back! I eat at this zaxbys often and it's usually good. Today, however, I went by and got my same chicken order to take home. I opened it and the strips were dark and hard. No meat inside! they made a mistake on the kind of dressing they gave me, then wanted to charge me .25 because I had opened the wrong pack of dressing. The Manager handled it very poorly. Walked off leaving the package of blue cheese over the counter said I could have it when I brought the opened pack back which I had already thrown away. Or pay the .25 for a new one. Their mistake, was treated very poorly for just wanting the correct dressing. Should have been very easy to correct. Instead the manager turned it into a pissing contest, all over a .25. We ordered a wing tray and several orders of cheddar bites to pick up at 3p, Super Bowl Sunday. The entire order was wrong. They made a tray with part wings and part tiny chicken strip s and instead of cheddar bites they made a tray of pub chips. They didn't care when I told them the whole order was wrong, did nothing to correct my order. The wings and strip were horrible and the pub chips were soggy. It was my first time eating at Zaxby's in Hickory, NC. I was very impressed. I was greeted immediately. Everyone looked professional. My cashier smiled and had a great attitude. We went to make our drinks and our order was ready by that time. The store was very clean. The manager came to our table to ask if we enjoyed and if she could get my husband and I anything else. I enjoyed my visit at Zaxby's today. I definitly recommend any family to eat at the restaurant. I will return to this location from now on. read more

I usually only get their house salad, with my chicken fried. My only complaint is the customer service. The girls taking your order are friendly, but it takes longer than usual to get your food at this particular zaxby's. I called in a food order one night, waited a half hour before picking it up....and I ended up waiting close to 30 min for my order. I called it in ahead of time so it would be ready when I picked it up, but I ended up waiting for them to make the to go order when I got there. I decided to give it another try last week, called our food order in from work....and it was almost ready. They still had to make the shakes and my salad order, but I only had to wait about 10 min. If you are in no hurry, and your not punching a time clock it's a good place to go to eat. I'll save it for the weekends. With a half hour lunch break it gives me little time during a work week. read more

This was BY FAR MY WORST EXPERIENCE in a customer service related environment I have ever dealt with. The manager - Kristen Abernathy - was the most incompetent manager I have had the displeasure of dealing with. I ordered a Wings n Things tray with BBQ wings and ranch. It was repeated to me at the drive through box. I pull forward and it was repeated to me again at the window... MY CORRECT ORDER. so I pay and go on my way. It wasn't until I get home 15 mins later I find out my food was wrong. My fiancé calls and tells the manager about the problem and she tells us to come back and she will fix it. I drive all the way back there and when I get there and talk to her she wants a receipt to prove they got it wrong. I was like look. We wanted the wings n things. And it's just wings. Fix it. But she fought back saying. Well this is what my order is showing. So my people did it right. They said it right to you twice and you confirmed it. So after digging in my car I find the receipt and sure enough they had it wrong on there as well. So I take the receipt in. And she's arguing that it wasn't wrong on the receipt that that's what I ordered. After finally getting her to agree to give me the right food she asks that I pay the $3.21 difference in the meals for their mess up. Fed up with her I put my money down and walk out with my food. I have been a District Customer Service Manager for over 5 years now, and if I ever find out my staff in any location is treating customers this way I would clean the house and rehire an entirely new crew. They are unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and above all. Not there for the customers as they should be. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF VISITING THIS LOCATION DONT! If they do this over a small mistake on the line I could only imagine the terror they will try to put you through to fix another one of their mistakes. read more
