We had already been to a wedding before that used Zegi so we knew the experience would be good, but even we were amazed at how great they were! From pre-planning to day of, Mike was incredible. During the early stages, he worked with us to figure out what package would best suit our wants as well as our budget. All of his gear is top notch and he has all the stuff to accommodate whatever your event requires. When it came to the actual day of our wedding, the whole team at Zegi was incredible. They showed up early, had all the stuff setup quickly, and were friendly and professional the entire time. We had various locations at our venue as well as several cues within our ceremony. Everything went off without a hitch and Mike was on top of it the whole way. Lastly, I would say the main reason we picked Zegi to work with was bc of our affinity/trust in Mike's music taste and abilities. He was super helpful in working with us on the front end to build out a vibe of songs we liked for the dance part, and then on the day even surprised us with some incredible song picks we hadn't even thought of. We also had several changes in schedule to things we had planned and the whole team at Zegi was able to accommodate those without any hesitation or trouble. My wife and I were putting together a milestone birthday party with a lot of moving parts...like a mini wedding. :-) One of the key ingredients was music! We messaged/emailed a couple of DJs and Mike (the only one) asked if we could have a short call to talk through what we wanted. Literally 30 seconds into the conversation, I knew we found the right person. Mike was so calm, so organized, he took our all over the place thoughts, organized them, AND fit them all together despite them being multiple genres and age groups.... Mike was the consummate professional and kept in contact with us up to the day, showed up two hours early for setup and sound check, and also was incredibly approachable for anyone that wanted to hear ANYTHING else on the playlist. We hired Mike as our DJ for our Highlands, NC wedding and it was one of the best decisions we could have made for our big day. How lucky we are to have found Mike Zarin. After meeting and listening/going to see Mike at the Music Room-- we were sold. If you are looking for the ultimate dance party-- Mike is your man. We had a 300-person wedding-- which presents a formidable challenge to keep the bride and groom on the dance floor (the "hello"s and "thank you for coming"s are seemingly endless) but Mike played SO MANY undeniable jams that we couldn't help but say, "I'm so sorry-- but this is MY SONG, I gotta dance" and to our bewilderment, each song was better than the last in the perfect sequence of building energy. Months before the big day, Mike sends you a document with three categories "Must play"; "Please play" and "Absolutely do not play" -- he sends it to you with plenty of notice because if your family is anything like ours, good (or terrible) song ideas come up in the most random conversations, and its fun to have a final resting place of where the songs you absolutely want to hear will be guaranteed to be played. Furthermore, Mike was unbelievably flexible with my ever-changing mind on father/daughter dance and first dance songs. He even created CUSTOM remixes for our first dance song to incorporate an acoustic version that flowed perfectly into an upbeat version. Finally, and most importantly, Mike has his own style and aesthetic-- and it's one you can trust. He exudes absolute professionalism and originality. HE IS THE ABSOLUTE OPPOSITE OF CHEESE. Certainly no awful lighting, no puns, no bad jokes, no overtaking the microphone-- he is everything a classy, quality, authentic ATL-DJ should be. He is confident without being even an ounce pretentious. And he has a sense of calm about him that made even the most anxious bride (me) feel at ease. I found myself in a bind and hired Mike Zarin blindly under the recommendation of my wedding planner and could not be more pleased! Zegi is great. We hired Mike for our wedding and he was fantastic. My fiancee and I knew we wanted a good DJ for our wedding. I started looking early, calling and emailing several Atlanta area DJ's. Mike and I hit it off right away. He is very prompt and succinct in answering questions, returning emails and phone calls. He is very professional. Unlike some of the other DJ's I contacted, he was not pushy in getting us to sign a contract, or include any extras. He was totally focused on working with us to give us exactly what we want, within our budget. Once we hired Mike, the process was easy. We had a few conversations with him to set the tone, overall goals, and few special custom details we wanted to include into the event. He has a simple system to set up some "must-play" "like-to-play" and "don't-play" songs prior to the event. While we did utilize those song lists, we knew it didn't have to be comprehensive and we did not spend a lot of time making a "play list." Part of hiring a great DJ is having the trust to know that if we want to hear A & B, he knows he can mix in X, Y, & Z. He was even flexible and skilled enough to accommodate a last minute, during-the-event song request into the very well mixed grand finale. Zegi is talented enough to play at several venues and clubs around town. He's not your typical wedding DJ. But he also was so professional and humble during the whole process. He always showed up on time, was very polite, and earned the respect of everyone involved. I was not impressed with this DJ. I hired him based on a few other recs online, but it was a HUGE disappointment. We found that he largely ignored our instruction at the wedding. On your special day, you don't really want someone who ignores your wishes. He also did not deal with confronting him very well. He ignored a feedback email and just largely managed the post event very unprofessionally. I work in the industry and have hired many DJs around the country (although not in ATL), and this was a disappointment. I would not recommend this vendor or hire them again. read more
