$2.75 for me slice of "extra" cheese, tasteless pepperoni, and frozen tasteless sausage crumbles.

Clearly they have NEVER been to NY, had NY pizza, or even seen it on The Food Network! The slice easily fits on a paper plate. The only reason to come here is for low quality ingredient pizza. Their 2 slices for $3.00 special is for cheese only. Start adding toppings and you're quickly close to the price of a full pizza. Pretty sure most of the their business is from deal seeking tourists and the high school across the street. No reason for a second visit.

Pepperoni, bacon, olives & mushrooms... that is NOT bacon!

First off the hours on this app are wrong. I called to verify they were open. They confirmed they were. We ordered garlic cheese bread & a pizza. The food was really good. It took them about 40 mins longer than they stated & it was not accurate. It was however delicious so I only took one star away. We ordered bacon on our pizza. We received huge chunks of ham.... It was really weird but, it was good, we ate it. I'll definitely order from them again in the future. They deserve another chance to get it completely right. If you want ham.. be prepared, see my photo...

I come here for the two slices and a soda for $4 deal. Last time I was there it was late and they only had one slice left but I made due. Tasty large slices. Convenient strip mall location. Table outside for you and your doggo. Pretty solid. Slices are large and cheesy. I'm all about that. You can order by the pie too, but I try not to be greedy.

I mean the sign even looks like it belongs in Manhattan!

Seriously, I have been looking for decent pizza since I moved here eight years ago. I tried a few different pizzerias claiming to be NY style pizza and they weren't even close. Here it is y'all, this is it. The closest thing you'll find to Manhattan pizza outside Manhattan. If I closed my eyes, I would honestly believe I'd been transported back. You're welcome!

Half cheese, half Hawaiian. Very good

It's football day, so perfect time to order pizza and wings. I had ordered from this place before and loved their pizza. This time, when I ordered, guy on the phone said he didn't deliver to my area. I told him he had two other times before but he insisted I hadn't. It was 5 miles away (Yelp shows 3 miles) and he would for an extra $4 fee. That's insane, but I agreed. Didn't want to have to go through all of this at another place. Let's assume their delivery radius is 3 miles, that would be 4 extra miles both ways. $1/mile is definitely excessive. That is what cost them a star. First the pizza. The crust was well cooked and very thin. Very NY style. Nice and large, and ingredients were of high quality. Asked for extra cheese and there was plenty. Now for the wings. WOW. Amazing! Perfectly cooked, juicy, plenty of meat and the sauce (picked mild) was incredible. Best wings I've EVER had! Very impressive. As much as I love it, I would go there if in area again, but $4 extra fo a couple miles? That's crazy!

2 Slice special. Check out the cheese already falling off the plate!

The two slices of cheese and a drink Special is a good deal and the pizza is exceptional. Definitely my favorite slice in Clearwater.

The pizza was very expensive. There is no order online feature. It has tasteless crust. Someone forgot the salt. It's bland at best.

All over the country and world. The restaurant was small, old school. They also have an outdoor covered patio ( we sat inside) The pizza was outstanding, I get the hype. We had the Quattro Formaggi ( four cheese including ricotta and goat cheese) ... added pepperoni. Arugula salad with shaved parm and sun dried tomatoes was a great starter. So much on the menu looked / sounded amazing but I was there for the pizza. Staff was great/ friendly / efficient ... if we lived closer, I'd eat here every week.

Unfortunately, the dishes I ordered were edible but bad. First things first, the tables were uneven, which made dining feel like we were eating on a seesaw every time someone moved or put pressure on the table. Most of the staff, including the bussers, came across as rude and inconvenienced. The only positive part of the service was our server, she was friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was very mediocre and did not feel authentic or up to the standard I would expect from an Italian restaurant. The penne vodka was bad. The sauce was bright red rather than the creamy pink vodka sauce you typically expect, and the pasta itself tasted like standard boxed pasta rather than a higher-quality imported product. I also ordered a caesar salad and specifically requested no Caesar dressing since I have an anchovy allergy. I asked for balsamic vinegar and oil on the side. When the salad arrived, the Caesar dressing cup had been placed directly against the lettuce and was touching pieces of the salad. I pointed this out because cross contamination is a serious concern for people with food allergies. Rather than immediately replacing it, the bus boy seemed dismissive of the issue and did not appear to understand the seriousness of allergy related cross contamination. That alone told me all I needed to know. The replacement salad itself was average at best and tasted like something you could easily make at home. The vegetables served with the meal had the texture and flavor of frozen vegetables that had simply been steamed from a bag. Overall, nothing about the meal stood out, and the servers and staff were not friendly.

We were seated as soon as we arrived, and throughout our visit the service was really good. My friend and I were having a very hard time deciding, and when we asked the server, she flat out told us that the two things we were torn between were awesome and we should order both and split them. We got the shrimp and grits and the lobster Benedict. On their own, the grits weren't anything special, although they were texturally great. Now when you add the shrimp and gravy . . . This dish is a whole other deal. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the gravy was super well balances. It had the perfect level of spice. The lobster Benedict had a perfectly poached egg, and it worked so well. The mornay sauce was a lovely touch. I'd definitely order it again, but I would also definitely order the shrimp again. Long story short, our server was right, they were both amazing. I also got a standard Bloody Mary, which was solid. I would definitely go back to this place. It's got an upbeat, family friendly atmosphere, and I think it's a great spot for locals and out of towners alike. It's also well priced. I'd also love to try their beignets or French toast next time. They've also got a huge lunch/dinner menu that I'd definitely want to try if I were in town for longer.

Ambience was like your regular breakfast place or diner, but definitely family friendly. We were there with our 8 month old baby boy and felt comfortable. Food tasted pretty okay, we ordered coconut shrimp, fish n chips and chicken tacos for brunch! The fish was a little undercooked and the batter was still a bit wet inside. Other items were not bad. For drinks, I ordered their popular pomegranate mimosa which came really flat (no bubblies) and in a wine glass! I sent it back and got a mojito instead - which tasted a lot better! Additionally, we were not aware the breakfast menu closes at 12 pm and we were already seated, so kind of felt obligated to order from the lunch menu at around 12.05 pm! It was too early for a sea food lunch for us! We saw the table next to us had ordered breakfast just a few minutes before us but we were denied because it was already past noon. Overall a pretty average experience. I was expecting a little more authentic experience but turned out to be just like your local diner.

This was clearly a vestigial pizza joint. Based on talks I've heard around Clearwater Beach, this was at one time a hotspot for tourists and locals alike, however I heard a lot of controversy that surrounded the place. Truthfully I was way too gentle with this place when I first reviewed it, so I'm here to rectify that before I leave this review be for good. The "pizza" I had here, if you can call it that, in 2024 was an over-glorified ritz cracker with cheese and tomato sauce...Absolutely no flavor, no substance, and it went down like a rock; I had gas station oven pizzas that tasted better than this. So little to say but so telling at the same time...The owners really had no pride in what they were doing at all to the point that they were borderline catatonic, and the entire place was in disrepair when I last visited it; Nothing was organized, wires were hanging out, and it was just straight up a rundown eating environment, which is a far cry from when it used to have outdoor seating reserved for its place. All of it was really offputting. Captain's Pizza was a shipwreck of its own doing and it was honestly time to abandon ship, just to keep it in tune with the theme. I genuinely wish I was around to try this pizza during its heyday...But honestly, it was for the best that it closed down.
