Well, I haven't been here in a minute. I made a joke with security that the ID READER by the door was cool/new. I was so happy excited to be in after work. I had just got off a 12hr day, and no line, yessss! Come in for an indica pre-roll as I said this to, Jonathan coming to the counter. Jonathan-the employee whom was helping us proceeded to give me an option of $17 for 2 pre-rolls [that i was a $1 shy on]. Next he brought 1 that was 7 months old. Jonathan gets frustrated, and says "they send them to us like that" defensively. My bf politely says, "did you perhaps have anything else higher tier?" Jonathan gives two more options [after basically rushing us out the door showing us the cheaper $8 option]. That's fine, but did you have something not so old? We'll pay at least $16 for something that's not crap old. He comes back with one of the original options [as he's hurrying to rush us out the door] he sighs in frustration like we're the ones rushing him [mind you I said there was no line]. So, I chime in again to TELL MY BF "it's okay, let's just do this one he's helped us enough." The employee "Jonathan" of this place then proceeds to jump down my throat and says, "well, if you didn't cut me off I was saying" you guys have been short with me the entire time!" First, I was talking to my bf about how you helped us, I wasn't being rude nor even speaking to him. My boyfriend even said to him I would have no problem telling my girl to go outside. But I didn't cut him off nor rush him out the door. Worst treatment I've EVER experienced in a dispensary let alone customer service. I definitely just dropped my jaw in shock, idk if the location gets a lot of horrible people come in. But if I were rude it would've been different. I work hard and don't need to be treated this way. It doesn't matter the amount being spent, if it's $16 or $160. We're all human and need to be treated as such. Needless to say, I don't recommend giving your money here. I used to go to a dispensary closer to home, but they advertise sales and never even have the sale items in stock. Zen Leaf has the best deals and plenty of sale items in stock. I'm on a tight budget, so I appreciate a good deal! The budtenders are always knowledgeable and friendly. A few times I've gone, there was a security guard who would sing along with the music out in the parking lot. That always made me smile. Who doesn't love music? Place an online order, waiting longer then walk ins, 1st time going, I'm bounced from register to register, as if they have no coordination, second entry same scenario and I'm advised to go to the pick up side, as I'm waiting three people are working walk ins, 2 with no customer, finally someone comes to help, goes to the pick up side tell her my name 5 different times, she walks up to a register I meet her there. I've been a customer here for five years. Recently they hired a bunch of new people and changed things in the store. It looks more visually appealing but the function is so bad. There never used to be long lines here and now there are long lines. I've always placed my orders online so because of that expect to be seen with ten to fifteen minutes. I don't understand the point of the order online line being ignored when they are constantly only taking people from the walk in line. I noticed a pattern of them ignoring the online order people and so many people walking in and looking at the line and walking out. I was loyal to this place for five years but about five months ago I started exploring other dispensaries in my area and I've found that this is the only one where I have the issue of placing an order online, standing in the online order line, and being ignored and passed over for people in the walk in line that came in after me. I haven't experienced this at jars or story. Much more user friendly and a sense of urgency to get as many people taken care of as possible and no one is being skipped or held in a line for way longer than they should be because the workers are ignoring the line they're in. Yesterday was the last straw. I left and a few hours later canceled my order. I am sticking with Story in Peoria going forward. That place is unmatched! :) read more

I've never been to a dispensary before, so I can't say how it compares to others (yet), but after my experience at Emerald, I'm left with basically two over-riding questions, one of which is: "Hey, you guys know this s**t is legal now, right?" the other of which is "what the hell is wrong with you people?" I'm not a smoker, never cared for it. I recently had a friend suggest to me that edibles might be a solution to help me sleep, so I did a little looking around online. There is a product that my friend recommended, so I was looking for a particular brand and a specific product. After Googling it, I found that Emerald was supposedly the nearest local outfit that dealt in this particular line. So cool - I'll drop in and see what's what, right? Not so fast there, Mr. 'I want to buy formerly illegal but now totally legal drugs.' When you walk in, you're in a little safe room vault or something with another door. Can't see inside. Security I guess? OK, so I open the second door, eagerly hoping there isn't a third. There isn't, and I'm in a spacious room with counters running around the circumference, each sporting an assortment of variously packaged goods under glass. What appear to be employees are placed standing behind the counters at little desk indentations in six-foot intervals. Reminds me of the DMV. Brilliant! Who doesn't want to shop for their formerly illegal drugs while being made to feel like they're waiting at the DMV? Somebody deserves a raise! I know what I'm looking for, so I figure I'll just make a quick circuit and see if any of what's behind the glass has got the brand mark I'm after - but about halfway 'round, I got stopped by a very large man. Like the bouncer at an exclusive event I wasn't invited to but wandered into anyway. I look (up) at him. He matter-of-factly asks me if I am "registered." Having been to several places of business before where I walked around possibly looking to purchase legal items, I blinked vigorously, attempting to process the question. I had no idea what the hell he was asking me. "N... no?" I managed to mumble. He put a very large hand on my shoulder. With his other similarly large hand he pointed to a young man sitting at a terminal in the center of the room. "We're going to need you to register." I gamely shuffled over to terminal-dude who never once made eye contact, but seemed aware of my presence anyway. "Medical or... recreational?" he asked with just the barest trace of contempt. I blinked again vigorously, once more trying to process what was being asked of me and why. I was growing agitated. I knew I was growing agitated, because I got that thing where in my head, this little mini-fantasy-movie started playing, and it featured me, growing four times my original size, skin turning green and screaming WHAT THE HELL DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE. "Recreational," I huffed, defeated. "I'll need your driver's license," he says. Now mind you, I haven't even yet decided that I was going to buy any of the perfectly legal goods that this store offers for sale to the general public and that is not limited to people with medical cards who can scam the system for their not-at-all recreational, formerly illegal but now totally legal drugs under the guise of medical treatment - but before I can even make the decision - they want my driver's license! And I gave it up, too because it's totally not like I'm in a database now... right? RIGHT?!? A few minutes later, the final straw came, which made me realize that no matter WHAT this place full of geniuses sells, I won't be buying any of it. I'm not even kidding you a little bit when I say that - pointing to the row of chairs against the back wall - terminal dude says to me: "Have a seat right over there. A specialist will call your name." A SPECIALIST! WILL CALL MY NAME! I ask terminal-dude if I can finish my eyeball tour of the products. He looks as if I just asked him to eat his pants. "Just don't approach a specialist," he warns me - this time carefully making eye contact. I can't do the Spock-eyebrow thing, but if I could have, I totally would have. I rolled my eyes a little instead, and shook my head. OK, first off - these aren't specialists, MKAY? There's all kinds of things that jump to my mind to call them, but specialists isn't any of them. And secondly, you all need to get your collective heads out of your collective butts. Just like the law says that the stuff you sell is now legal, it also says that at least once a year, I have no choice but to go to the DMV. Absolutely nothing says I have to go to this stupid place and be put through this crap. So, I'll see you chumps LATER. And with that, I walked out. I don't plan to return to Emerald, but I will try another place eventually. If they're all like this, well, then I guess I won't be getting that kind of sleep after all. Give me a BREAK! read more

I used to like this business when it was emerald. Don't care for Zen leaf. I usually buy for the month in bulk monthly. I purchased a cartridge and didn't check it right away. It didn't work. When I took it back for just an exchange they wouldn't exchange it because it was more than 3 days. I think that's horrible business practice. read more

But she told me if I wait until this purchase I can get $25 off the next visit WELL... the next time I went my points were not updayed so I let it go. Then I went again and my points didn't update . I am upgrading my original rating from two stars to three simply because management reached out to me with an apology and an assurance that the issues I raised in my review of 2//13/2017 are being addressed. I really want to like this dispensary; some of their promos are excellent; however, their customer service leaves much to be desired. Recently I went here to take advantage of a "buy 2 get 1 free" promo on prerolls. As I was paying for my order, I noted I wasn't getting the promo price, and asked why. The "bud tender" explained that the promo wasn't on all prerolls, only some strain specific. When I pulled up the promo from my email, and also looked at the promo in the dispensary itself, I found no mention of this restriction; and so I departed to Swell on Bell and 19th Ave and made my preroll purchase. A week or so ago I stopped in at 10 AM to purchase a couple of edibles and take advantage of the "early bird special" which includes a free mini-edible. I noticed that there was a daily special of $8 Maui Wowie grams and asked for four. The budtender had only two in her supply drawer and was reluctant to go find some more. When I stated that it was only 10 AM, and if this was the daily special, I was sure there were more in stock, she found one in the adjacent empty point of sale station, but declined to search for any others. Today is a great Huxton promo on flower and vape, but the menu doesn't show any vape in stock, so it is difficult to determine if in fact this promo is worth the trip. Worst Dispensary I've ever gone to. The employees are pretty rude. For going there for the first time, the entry was confusing and I was pushed back outside to wait. Then they refused to accept my paper ID because the MVD never mailed me a hard copy. I literally got my medical card with the paper copy and have been going to dispensaries ever since with no problems, no questions asked. I would not recommend this place to anyone, not only for their lack of professionalism but also their inability to execute their job functions properly and knowledgeably. Called them personally to complain and was advised to order through their website instead of Leafly, to avoid issue. Not the case! Went today and neither mine or my husbands order had been fulfilled! My feelings on this place is 50% good and 50% meh. Both for valid reasons. The good? They're rarely ever busy or packed when I go and I appreciate that because it allows me to go in and out in a short time. The check in is easy and I never experience any issues. They also have an ATM which has a $2.00 fee for those who might not know. Zenleaf is my second option when I'm not close to Curaleaf but it's a great choice. Now the meh part. This is only because of my more recent experience (01/29/2023) that left me a bit upset. It was after the Chiefs vs Bengals game so I had to hit up the dispo to celebrate the big win. They did have a promotion if you wore your jersey, you got a free blunt. I did not see this promo until AFTER I paid, but I still made the clerk aware. Well when I did, he asked if I had a jersey on and I stood back and said yeah (pointing at my chiefs jersey). Well he said yeah you are and dismissed me with "we'll have a great day". I was a bit upset but had to walk away because no way was this clerk going to ruin my night. This definitely made me decide to not return to Zen Leaf and lucky for me, I have many friends who visit here and are aware of this situation so they won't be returning either. If you can't stick by your promotions, don't offer them. It's that simple. It can cost you a customer or like this case, quite a few. Nevertheless, Zenleaf in general deserves 5 stars but the clerk only one star. read more
