Anyone thinking of going to this clinic think twice, and think hard…read more In December 2005 after returning from Thailand where I had been living I had a series of laser hair removal sessions in Thailand due to the low cost. The treatments were near completion when I returned to the UK. I was, at the time, living close by and found what was then called Boston Clinic at a slightly different address om Moscow RD (same owners) and I enquired about whether they could finish my treatments, which were maybe 1-3 left for complete hair removal. They told me they absolutely could help me and I went for my first treatment with a technician that did a decent job. My second appointment came and then technician advised me that as my hair was so fine it was best for me to use the Lumenis Lightsheer (diode) laser to complete my treatments. I agreed to a patch test. I came back and reported that while there were no adverse reactions I did not see a better result than I had with the other laser, safer for my skin type. I chose to proceed with the treatment. During the treatment I felt excruciating pain on my legs as the technician did my treatment. I immediately told her and she said, "YOU JUST HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN, I WILL ONLY DO ONE PASS". Around 10 minutes later I felt even worse burning and noted welts up and down my legs which started to blister. I again brought this up to the technician who told me that, "THIS HAPPENS SOMETIMES, DO NOT WORRY". I left with instructions to use lavender they tried to sell me to put on the wounds. In the coming days the blisters started to ooze and get worse. I could not sleep, I could not shower as it hurt me so much. I called and reported this to the clinic, they told me not to worry. I was worried, I went to a specialist dermatologist in Berlin Germany and was told I had severe burns and would result in permanent scarring. I wrote my own demand letter to the clinic and was told the injector, who is the owner's wife and clinical director, would discuss it with me. On the phone she agreed it was bad and she agreed I deserved some compensation and that they had in fact burnt me. They never offered anything as I was told she needed to speak with "the owner", subsequently I found out that was her husband and he decided that he did not want to discuss compensation. I got in touch with a man who was not even legal to practice in UK as he was not active but acting as their solicitor and HE ACTUALLY ADVISED ME to get a solicitor telling me his "client" was not cooperating. From 2006-2016 this has dragged on. I was awarded 524,758.93 UK Sterling for my injuries and losses. I have permanent scarring up and down my legs and have to follow a regimen to try and conceal this. If you check the history of Boston Clinic (UK) Ltd and Boston Clinic UK Ltd and now Harley Street Treatments and other names you will see that they have consistently changed their name and dissolved their company with Companies House, which is a joke, to evade this judgement, and presumably other debts and possibly even judgements as their history of changing name and dissolving and re-emerging is so constant. In fact though they never even attended one hearing or defended their actions yet they tried to dissolve themselves mid proceedings and re-form under a slight variation of their name, this was later forced by the courts to be reinstated but to no help to me. Though my solicitors have tried to collect the damages I was awarded in the judgement, they have been unsuccessful as the defendants alternate names dissolving and re-registering at Companies House and destroyed all relevant documents, all ran away from their responsibilities and accountability for their clinic. This is their 7th name since I dealt with them. Instead of taking accountability in any form they just dissolve and reform their company over and over, AND I WILL STAY ON TOP OF THAT AND WARN ANYONE I CAN to stay clear of them and make sure you get their medical malpratcice insurance details and ensure they have them if you do dare go here for any treatment. Quite simply they got with permanently maiming me and until they pay their debt as ordered by the court, or they cease to exist I will do my best to ensure nobody go through what I had to go through. This is a rogue business and sadly allowed by Companies House to continue to operate and change their name on a regular basis. A week before the Bank Holiday weekend, I have decided to book myself in for a peel in preparation for a short city break with my sister and best friend. I have called up Aesthetics Lab and booked myself in for a consultation, followed by the peel. At arrival I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who gave me an online questionnaire to fill in. It took me 10 to 12 minutes to finish. I did arrive early for my appointment, so I had plenty of time to kill. Joanna, very lovely and extremely helpful, discussed with me my skin history, problems and needs. Once we agreed on the treatment for my skin (we both agreed that my skin is dull & congested), I have been taken to the treatment room, where I met a very lovely aesthetician. I lied down on the bed, got tucked in & was ready for my peel. First my skin was preped by cleaning my skin & cleansed. A simple procedure, however it feels really nice when done by somebody else. Its time for the peel! A specifically selected (for my skin type) liquid peel was smoothly brushed on my skin. I had to stay with the peel on my skin for couple of minutes. It felt a bit itchy and stingy as it was working its way into my skin. The peel was removed & my skin was prepared for the 2nd part of my treatment: LED lights. This was my favourite part as it felt like you were bathing under the sun. After the treatment my skin felt a bit tight, however this went away after couple of hours. I have to say that that my skin feels like a baby's skin and very happy with the end result. The whole treatment lasted around an hour & even my black heads from my nose were removed. That said, if I must put myself through torture there is no better place to do so (although Ministry of Waxing on South Molton St is comparable). The rooms are all individually decorated and the place has nice, thoughtful touches like sanitary products in the loo and baby wipes in the rooms. I've been using Strip since it opened over three years ago and I've almost never had the same therapist (admittedly, I've never asked for the same girl as I'm not good with names!) The skills and attention to 'wax detail' varies a lot so if you find a therapist who does a good job, I'd ask for her by name the next time you book and appointment. It's not very cheap. I'm on a second set of a courses (from memory, buy six, pay for five) but once the course I'm on is done I won't be getting another one. The thing I liked (note past tense) was that one could use the course at any of the branches. Since Strip has expanded into the City and West End, however, they've stopped allowing courses to be used across branches which makes it much less convenient for me as I liked to have the choice of going to a branch near home or near work. I believe this is because the branches are franchised out. But, honestly, should that be the customer's problem??

The salon was really close to Earl's court tube station especially since I was running a little late! The facial started out with a 15 min back massage. It was okay, then you flip over for the facial. The usual exfoliating, deep moisturizing etc. She checked the state of my skin to pick which type of products to use and straight away she knew my skin was oily (now anyone can see that - but hey it's quite a blessing to have very few wrinkles!). You get the usual sells pitch on products but it was nice that she asked what my biggest concerns were about my skin and recommended a few products. You get a little mini massage as you have your mask on which was nice - compared to other spas in London. Overall, face does looks and feel more radiant so it was perfect to go during the winter.
