It all started this past Friday when I placed an order for cake jars to be delivered with DoorDash for a friend's birthday. DoorDash cancelled it via email and stated that the dasher cancelled it. I called the phone number on the website but it wasn't working, the message kept telling me the subscriber wasn't available. So I called the phone number listed on Yelp. A woman answered and I asked if it was "Kaye Bakes", she confirmed it was. I asked her about my order and she explained that she didn't have the necessary items to complete my order and had told DoorDash to temporarily close her store, but they had not done so. Instead, she offered to take my order and personally deliver it sometime over the weekend. That all seemed perfectly reasonable to me. We agreed I would call Saturday. I called her Saturday and she said she did get the supplies she needed to make my order and asked if Sunday would work for my order to be delivered sometime from 3-5pm. I told her it would. She asked me to text her my contact info and my order, and she would email me an invoice and a link to pay via PayPal. I texted her my info and awaited the email, which never came. I checked my email often, including spam. This morning, I texted her at around 11:15am to check in and she never responded. I gave it a few hours and called at about 3pm. There was no answer and the voicemail was full. I reached out to my friend whose birthday it was to let her know the disappointing news. What a shame! I was really looking forward to trying out this bakery and so was my friend. Unfortunately, the owner has poor follow through. I'm not sure how you run a business like this.
