Not only clearly highly professional, but we found them very approachable too. They worked with us to come up with the perfect design to suit my fiancé's refined tastes. When the rings were ready, we went to the Queen Victoria Building excited but a little nervous because the design and engravings were highly intricate and would have required considerable skill to fashion. I found both Varoujan and Australian Diamond Brokers and am so thrilled I did. I immediately felt comfortable with everyone I met and never felt like I was being sold to at any point. Most importantly, their pieces were stunning. I mean, truly, truly stunning. The first pendant I was presented was beyond incredible, which also meant it was larger than I wanted and a bit more pricey. Immediately after, I was presented with an oval shaped blue opal surrounded by diamonds that was instantly the one! After they worked with me on price, and offered to turn around a new chain within a day, I was sold and over the moon. Now, just one day later and with said pendant happily dangling from my neck, I am an ecstatic customer. The extra bonus is I showed Varoujan a ring I wear that I've never really loved. (Family diamond that I DO love in a setting that doesn't do it justice.) I pinged several jewellers and Diamond Emporium wasn't the first to get back to me, but by far the most attentive. I tried GS Diamonds, Larsen Jewellery, and Royal Diamonds and decided to go with Diamond Emporium. I was aided by Shelley and she was absolutely wonderful. I gave her the specifications of what I was looking for and my budget and she came back straight away with recommendations. While the diamonds weren't in the store, they had similar ones for me to look at so I popped straight in. While there she answered every question I had and everything was done with ease and seamlessly. Once I decided on a diamond and setting, I put a deposit down and she told me it would take up to 10 working days to come in. It ended up taking about 5; talk about delivering! I came in and had a look, and the diamond was just as expected, beautiful. Shelley checked up frequently to make sure things were going well, and I proposed on Jan 26th. Thanks in part to the great diamond, I am now engaged. While the ring fit initially, it loosened up a bit and we came back in for a resizing that was also seamless and done with ease at no extra cost.

For me, it was great because I know nothing about jewelry and Gerard walked me through the process step by step. I described what I wanted for my wife-to-be, and Gerard helped me decide what kind of stone to get, explained the chemistry and origins of each, showed me dozens of samples, etc. He literally sketched out ring designs on paper in front of me until we got it right. Not only did my wife love the ring, but she loved the fact that I had taken such a personal role in its conception and design. Then when we went to Gerard together to design wedding rings, she got to have the same experience I did. We were very happy with the whole process and reassured to have a knowledgeable professional to deal with instead of a commission-earning salesperson. We have no idea whether we paid more or less for our rings than we could have paid in the mall or online, but if we paid more it couldn't have been by much. In the end, though, it was the experience we bought, not just three hunks of metal. It was a wonderful way to start our marriage, and something we'll never forget.
