Watch out for food poisoning. I agree with a lot of what people have said about the atmosphere. The food is quite good too. My wife and I have eaten here a few times and enjoy their food. We ordered take out this weekend, ate it right away and didn't eat anything else. We both ended up getting really sick. Before I got sick the next day, I ate leftovers which resulted in me getting sick twice in the end. I went by to let the managers know what had happened so they could be aware of the situation. In spite of my being very courteous the manager was very very rude, told me I was lying and walked away. I was disappointed in their very poor customer service. It is disappointing to see that even with their beautiful atmosphere and good food, that they could care less about their customers. I hope this never becomes the case with you if you decide to eat at Zhang's. read more

Last night, Valentine's 2015, my wife and I had the worst meal in recent memory. The service was good but the food was a failure. 1. My fried rice was cold as I recieved my dish. 2. The peanuts were stale, not kidding, stale and ruining my evening. 3. I had the kung pow three kinds, beef, chicken and shrimp. I got TWO shrimp and THREE pieces of beef, the chicken, my least fave, was abundant. I did not bitch nor moan, I tipped the waiter, but I will never go back to Zhangs on Harrison in Ogden Utah. read more

We have been going here for YEARS. We stopped in today and got our favorite dish szechwan beef. They have decided to change up the recipe. The beef is cheap and stringy and got a thick gloopy breading. SO disappointed. If they went back to the quality recipe that was working we would consider going back, but with our main reason for going being disgusting now, we will pass. read more

I have to start off with the food is delicious!! Got a takeout order of sesame chicken and an order of their specialty fried rice. There's a couple of pictures of the rice, trust me you can't go wrong with this rice if you like it a little sweet and spicy. Their sesame chicken is one of the BEST that I've had. I've tried a few other Chinese restaurants around Ogden, Layton, and Roy and they don't even come close. The restaurant was nice and clean. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Chinese food. I'll be going back many more times. read more

I just moved to Ogden and wanted Chinese take-out one night. My partner & I tried Zhang's and were very pleasantly surprised. It was fast, affordable and delicious. We ordered a combination that included Kung Pao chicken. It was fantastic! Our meal (which is actually supposed to be for one), cost around $11. and we ate dinner AND lunch the next day. Tried this place when it opened. Could not be paid to return. Food is over-sugared, and over-processed. Make no mistake about this being commercialized Asian fare. You could do as well or better (and for less money) by buying boxed stuff in your local grocery store. There are other restaurants in Ogden that do a much better job. Service is not bad, but really -- cook yourself a chicken at home and use some "panda" sauce. It'll taste better. read more

We Love this Chinese restaurant! Staff is always happy and very helpful and respectful. Servings are always generous, fresh and flavorful. We always order something different every time we go! We always take friends here and they love it just as much as we do. After reading about their HUGE gluten free menu, and since I have been craving Chinese food, me and my bf decided to stop here for dinner. First of all, if you are gluten free, ask for their gf menu, which is almost as big as a regular menu, but without wontons or regular chow/lo mein noodles, but they do have rice noodles which was what we got. We shared the house chow fun, which was fairly generous for two people and really filled us up as well as gf wonton soup (without dumplings-just meat and veggies) and a side of rice and hot jasmine tea which came out to 27 dollars. Generous portions for a generous price! If you are gluten sensitive like me, I'd say this would be one of your favorite restaurants. I can't say if there's a danger for cross contamination for the hyper sensitive, as I don't need to worry about it. They do have gf soy sauce too. read more

It's a decent place for sure! I was kind of unimpressed with the orange chicken, but then again it's supposed to be spicy and I asked them to do whatever thing they do to unspicify it, so it could have been that. The Egg Drop soup is good, and the service was excellent. Overall, I'd say it's worth a try to see if you find something you love or not. read more

This place if awful! I would never eat here again, and wouldn't go there if I were you. Their ham fried rice is disgusting. Instead of using actual ham, it looks like they have diced up hot dogs and put it in there. Their egg drop soup is almost gelatinous, it is too thick. The beef with broccoli is nasty. The beef is hard to chew and is very stringy. The chicken chow mein wasn't any better, the chicken looked fake and had a funky texture. They are way over priced for the quality of food they serve! My extended family and I dined here last night and were extremely disappointed. We shared two appetizers and six dinner items. The chicken was rubbery, the beef tasted like it had been frozen, and the moo goo gai pan had a fishy flavor. The lettuce wraps and potstickers were the best part of our meal. I was excited to try Zhang's Chopstix. I am celiac and saw their Gluten Free Menu advertised on the lighted sign in front of the establishment. I asked for the GF menu as I entered and waited for friends. I ordered the Cashew Nut Beef from the GF menu that had been provided to me. I told my waitress that I was a Celiac and needed to make sure that it was GF. She assured me that it would be, they understood the need for GF. I asked about the soy sauce, which is an ingredient that concerned me. I was assured the soy sauce used to make the dish is GF. I enjoyed my food for about 1.5 hours and then became very sick. I spent a horrible night with a reaction from eating gluten. I called and spoke to a manager the next day. M told me that I had a responsibility to make sure that what I ordered was GF, and I need to communicate that to the waitress. I assured him that I thought I had by saying my dish needs to be Gluten Free. Oh, by the way, the soy sauce on the table is not GF, must be what went wrong. The waitress should have brought me out a GF soy sauce. The manager took no responsibilty. I won't be back. read more

My husband and I have been frequenting this restaurant ever since it was first opened and we love it. The prices are very reasonable and food is wonderful. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. Because we are always on a tight schedule, we appreciate the speed in which we are seated, the order was taken, and our food is always served - hot and delicious in a timely manner. We love the egg drop soup. So far no other restaurant has equaled the taste. The vegetables are fresh and the meat is very tender. The won tons are to die for. I was so glad there was Chinese food place out here in Utah. I'm from the Chicago-land area this place was a relief to see. The decor is nice, service was quick, and food was plentiful and tasty. Though I don't particularly enjoy the way they make their fried rice( lots of ham not very crispy), the portion size made up for it. My wife and I have gone to Zhangs many times and we love it! Everytime we have had nice and attentive servers, and good food. One time they even brought us complimentary dessert that they were trying out (pumpkin wontons i think they were called) anyways they were very good a nice twist on the seasonal dessert. We love the lettuce wraps ! I will say that they curry seemed to have too much corn starch or thickener in it that made it not soo good, everything else that we have had has been good. If i want chinese food this is my first choice. read more

Ogden did it again; another restaurant had to adapt to the town's demand for--quantity over quality. I have not been to Chopsticks for probably a year until tonight and was disappointed to find out they have been forced into caving in order to appease Ogden's clientele, whose approach towards food is similar to large canines. It was never a really good restaurant but was definitely the only decent Chinese north of Bountiful's Mandarin. But after some take out tonight, I'm sure it has already cemented its reputation among Ogden's fat and faithful and will be a successful Ogden establishment for many decades to come. It makes me sad to have to say this because I used to love this place but now I would never go back to this restaurant again. When we first entered the restaurant the Manager greeted us by not looking at us and was quit short tempered. I do not know if It is that we are a minority and she did not want us at her restaurant or if she just runs her business this way. We left with the food and tried not to be effected by her bad service. When we got home we noticed that the soup that we got was not made right. I have worked with food most of my life and take pride in using my knowledge to professional inform and educate individuals about quality food. Like I said previously, this was one of my favorite places so I know this soup very well. It was obvious that the cook did not make the soup right. It was a mix of way too much vinegar as well as being bland from missing ingredients. It also tasted like there might have been a cleaner accidentally spilled into it. When we asked to return the soup and inform her of our concerns so she might not want to feed it to others, she mocked us and asked if the hot and sour soup was just too sour. She was so unprofessional and I will not be going back. If you are thinking of trying the place, I would be concerned about the possibility that they may not be handling the food right.
