We have gone here twice in three trips to the DF this year (what can I say, we travel for great…read morefood, people, and sites). The shoes here are obviously the big draw, but they also have amazing leather jackets and bags. Even D who breaks out into a cold sweat when buying sneakers is obsessed with their shoes and now owns three pairs. All are super stylish and incredibly well made. Both times we shopped here we were helped by Manuel. He was incredibly helpful and VERY patient with my anxious husband. For those of you visiting the DF with limited Spanish, Manuel and most that work here are fluent in English as well. Though Manuel was very sweet and suffered through my terrible attempts at only speaking in Spanish to practice. We love this store and plan to come back or shop online for any of our shoe needs!

I found a couple pairs of jeans, and ended-up leaving with a birron down long sleeve shirt from the 80's. It seemed like the value was pretty decent for what they were offering. The service was just so so, because it was hard to get the attention of the only person working here. She was busy on her phone. This store is worth visiting and you could probably discover some good finds here.

This leather store is located in tepico market in the centro. It's a bit intimidating at first,…read morebecause the market is so huge. But find this place if you're looking for leather goods. My husband bought me a jacket from here as a gift but it didn't quite fit so we headed back to exchange it. I was wary that a store in a market like this would have an exchange policy but sure enough they did. The guy that helped us was really kind and got me all the sizes, colors and styles I wanted to try on. I ended up with a dark brown leather bomber jacket...the leather is soft, it fits great, and it looks like a jacket I would have paid a lot more for in New York. They have black, brown, tan, mint green, hot pink, white leather and all the styles you can think of. There were a lot of purses but I spent so much time looking at the jackets I didn't have time to sort through those. Next time I'll be sure to. This place is definitely a find!

We came when it was nearing closing time so not all the stalls were open, but there were still a good number of them waiting around for last minute customers. Thankfully they took card so that was a huge help. Though we didn't think about bargaining... Ugh. Americans. Haha. I particularly fell for a locally handmade pair (which all of the shoes are) that came in soft grey leather matched with a salmon red. They were beautiful... and reasonably priced! The sweet lady taking care of the shop then informed me how Lobo works. They make one pair of every shoe for every size. Again, they only sell a handful of shoes... only one pair for sale per size. After that sad news, I found out that nearly nothing was available in my size. And even as I walked around the petite shop, I'd look over at her just before I was about to ask if a different shoe was available and just by the look on her face, I could predict the answer was no. So, it's a beautiful shop with a wonderful collection of handmade leather shoes for women. 3 stars because the concept of creating just one pair per size seems pretty insane.

The items are not cheap as they'll run you $80-$200+ and quality reminds me of what you'd find at a store like dipytique. Nevertheless, both of their stores in Polanco and Juarez are outstanding and worth a visit, if only to sample their hand sanitizer and lotions.
