This company also manages my building and I've had zero issues in the almost 8 months I've lived here. They send exterminators regularly (totally preventative - I've had zero pests) and Gary is super responsive anytime I've had a question or an issue with my apartment. A+!

Even if you have good credit score and money, it's still not easy to find a good place and have a reasonable realtor who can help you, there are so many details you need to know. I decided to give a try this company. First i got the call from Sam, he asked me what apartments i'm looking for and he sent me list with 5 places. They all were actually very good, I picked the one that was closest to my work and I scheduled showing. I met with Marvin and he was incredibly professional, honest and upfront. He answered to all my questions and showed me apartment, literally everything was clear and transparent for me. There was no weird feeling like with other agents I met recently and he was responding very fast to my messages. I applied in the evening and the next day in the morning i got the answer that I approved. It was very quick, specially when I didn't have much time left to find a new place, they just literally saved me! Seriously-- heed the reviews…read more Omar was 20 minutes late to our apartment viewing before calling to say he couldn't make it-- he seemed apologetic and gave us the code to let us into the apartment, so I shrugged it off. As it turns out, this wasn't a one-off and he often cancels on his clients with no notice. After viewing, we were pressured into putting in a competitive offer above the listed price, plus a 15% broker fee (absurd, but we were unfamiliar with the renting landscape in NYC after the FARE Act went into effect). It took almost two weeks, and many, many calls, emails, and texts from both of us and our guarantors (we spent literally hours trying to get in touch with Omar), to finally be sent the application materials. ANOTHER week passed with no reply or acknowledgement before we gave up on the unit. The whole experience left us feeling frustrated and ignored. Do yourself a favor, avoid this group and any of their units. No matter how much you like the apartment, there will be another one-- without the headache.

I was referred to chezi by my friend and since using him to manage the units we have never had any problems. Any issues with tenants he has dealt with from going to court for representation or assisting with finding me someone to fix a small issue at a very cheap price. He's helped me a lot and I can not recommend him enough as a property manager. He also manages one of my cousins house after he had to relocate and goes above and beyond to ensure everything is in working condition and the tenants are happy. This property management company is essentially a slumlord. Elderly superintendents are unable to…read moredo their jobs, and maintenance rarely gets done in a timely manner. Building front door lock broken? They let that go unfixed for several months, security be damned. Big no-smoking signs are stenciled onto hallways on each floor, and yet tenants smoke with impunity. Want to report it to the super? Too bad, he & his son are the biggest offenders. Additionally, they don't have any full time staff available to be available during standard business hours and don't respond to emails quickly, making communication difficult. Finally, they engage in some dicey practices involving lease riders in gentrifying neighborhoods. Essentially, they make their tenants sign waivers saying that the "market value" of their unit is thousands of dollars more than the actual rent, meaning that come lease renewal time, they're able to raise the rent dramatically in a legal way, as it's just a % of the "market" rate for the unit. If possible, I would suggest avoiding this company. EDIT: I have been informed that they operate under several other different property management company names, but are all the same enterprise. Watch out for the following: Seventh Avenue Management Corp, AD Shaye, Sunset Slope Management

When you need something fixed with your apartment, the only way it gets done in a "timely manner" is when someone can stay home from work to let them in. As the tenant, you're left in the dark waiting to know when someone is coming even though the office has the keys from prior work and maintenance has had them at least 24 hours. Two of the women (names start with C & J because I don't want to incriminate them) in the office have been helpful, so I cannot fault them for the shortcomings of the company. Definitely not re-signing for another year. Would recommend anyone stay away. From the first review, this is under Sunset Slope Management, what seems to be part of the Brokat Builders family of companies in the area.
