No one could see him for days and we were referred to this university hospital by our Air BnB superhost. He received excellent care and saw an ear nose and throat physician. The only reason we are not giving this five stars is because it was very difficult to figure out where to go, the place has a rather austere and cold look about it (dark cold war era feel) and it was not as well marked in English so we relied on stopping people and asking for information. Luckily everyone spoke enough English to help us. That being said we would recommend this hospital to anyone looking for urgent care type services in Prague. The price was very reasonable for anywhere, especially compared to US medical prices. It is at the end of the Metro green/A line, the stop called Nemocnice Motol. The hospital itself and the "foreigners reception" area is basically straight across from the entrance to the metro. There are at least two hospital pharmacies on site - one closes at four pm and another is located in the open courtyard area directly across from the metro entrance and that was open after 4 PM but I do not remember the closing time. That Pharmacy had excellent air conditioning! Nowhere else in the hospital was there any that we encountered. The foreigners reception area has three or four stations with chairs for people to give the intake person all their information. That is on the right side. On the left are two stations for children and people who need to stay at the hospital. They take your information (drivers license or passport needed) and they require a 1000 Czech kronor deposit. They then send you to the appropriate floor to see the type of position that you need. After you see the physician you return to the foreigners reception area and either get a refund if your services were less than 1000 Kč or you pay them the balance due. For my husband it was 1102 Kč or at the time of this writing roughly $55. That your drops they prescribed were only $5! There is a Canadian doctors chain that we could not get into but they responded via email and said it would've been anywhere from 3000 to 6000 Kč for a visit. Obviously the university hospital was much less expensive and he saw a specialist fairly quickly. It was a Monday afternoon and to us it did not seem busy. The total time it took from arrival to departure was roughly an hour and 15 minutes.

At reception I was told to go down to a small window half way down the hall to receive care. The woman sitting inside did not speak any English (not a crime but, when there are literally thousands of foreign tourists within a mile of this old town emergency room, very surprising). She rudely dismissed me when I couldn't explain that I had an injured foot in Czech and turned her back to me so I would leave. I asked her if there was anyplace else she could recommend for me to get care that spoke English, she ignored me and made clear that she was irritated by my question and the fact that I had not yet left the hospital. I asked to see a doctor and that was a word she understood and she sent a doctor out to the hall to see me. He seemed to know very little English himself but seemed to understand from my communication and demonstration that I had injured my foot and needed to be evaluated. He instructed me to go to the very end of the hall for care. When I reached the end of the hall there were only toilets. A nurse from another area who spoke a bit of English asked me what I needed and I described my injury. She said I needed to go back to the area I had spoken to the rude woman before because it was the correct place. I left the hospital to find care elsewhere as I didn't trust that I would receive appropriate care. I live around Europe most of the year in non English speaking countries and this has been the only place I've had trouble receiving medical care. They should put a system in place for non Czech speaking patients to communicate, even if only by typing their symptoms into a google translate program on their computers. I've worked in hospitals as a patient advocate and in Human Resources. I know that there are ethical as well as legal obligations for providing care to people who walk in your door. The treatment, lack of treatment, I received was completely unacceptable.

Three years later my face is worse than it was before the surgery. In addition to that, they made my ears hang lower (visibly) and my mouth wider (not fuller, just wider) - I used to have a great smile, now it looks and feels weird. I can't forgive these two things. Before the surgery, when I got in contact with that clinic, I had a video talk with a doctor, who said they'd do my eyes, face and neck. Upon my arrival to the clinic on the day of the surgery, after a day of obligatory fasting, he said he's not doing my eyes because 'it's never done together' (a lie). I got upset and he announced that now he won't do my surgery at all. A different doctor did it, with the results I described above. They gave me only light anaesthesia; I woke up twice during the surgery. All the doctors are/ were male (hope it has changed since). They were not nice and even rude to me. One doctor even commented on my 'thick calves', which are fine, I'm size EU 38. After the surgery they didn't want to see me again and when I came for a check-up and stitch removal anyway, they were incredibly unfriendly and made it clear that I was wasting their time. Would recommend to stay away from that place.

The interior design of the clinic looks scientific and the modern technology makes you feel that you are in a safe environment....Thats where the charm ends. I have had two botched rhinoplasty operations with Roman Kufa and he has created a very expensive and complicated problem for me to fix. I felt like a number rather than a human at this clinic, its like a conveyor belt of mass produced surgical results. I brought my dog to the vet last year and he was treated with so much care, more than I ever was at this clinic. I'm not sure how many operations are performed at Perfect Clinic weekly, but both times I've been at the clinic quite a lot of people are getting rushed in and out of the operating rooms, so I can only assume there is an emphasis on quantity of clients rather than quality of surgery. Much of the content on the Perfect Clinic website is false advertising, so if you are considering a procedure at Perfect Clinic Prague take these points into account: Dont expect a proper consultation. This will probably last about 5 minutes and will be very vague. No need to waste time telling Dr.Kufa what you want him to do because hes probably not listening. Do not expect Roman Kufa to discuss with you the operation, where incisions will be made, before & after photos of previous patients, postoperative care, possible risks, or anything really. I was so misinformed that both times I was told by Dr.Kufa my rhinoplasty would be an 'open' procedure but I found out myself, in the mirror, that they were in fact 'closed'. If you are unhappy with the results don't expect any form of empathy, this means you are a problematic client. If you let him, Dr.Kufa will damage it more for you, free of charge. Expect no postoperative follow-up what so ever, no email or phone call asking you how everything is (You will get a printed piece of paper instead). This isn't so bad for rhinoplasty, but theres other surgeries which I think a follow up is probably quite important. Me being compelled to write this review is evidence that Perfect Clinic is clearly not meeting the needs of their patients. Perfect Clinic falls short of some of the most basic standards, such as an informative consultation and post operative follow up, which I assume have been sacrificed to make the business more profitable. Even if I was happy with my results, I would still be writing this review because of these fundamental elements missing, it significantly increases the risk of failure. So please dont be fooled by the fancy interior design and dont believe what they say on their professional looking website. Dont be lured by their competitive prices because its just NOT WORTH IT. If you are looking for a clinic, keep looking, because there's lots of trustworthy clinics out there with surgeons who want to help you.

I am gonna call this maternity hospital Podolí in this review as we do. One of the best maternity…read morehospitals in Europe if we will talk about professional level of doctors. The second thing is customer approach. Let´s look at both. But first some generall facts. It doesn´t look awesomely beautiful from outside but it´s really nicely looking inside. Plenty of space, old statues, continuously renovated a rooms (for pacients) are big enough, especially if you are on of those private ones (which I totally recommend to book). Ok and now about those two things. As i said the first one is professional. Generally speaking czech obstetrics is on very high level. We have one of the lowest mortality in the world (top 3 actually). And Podolí is on the top of the rank. If any other hospital has some problems with mom and kid so they try to get them to this one (or Apolinář). They have the best skills and experiences. They can save babies which would be doomed somewhere else. That´s actually amazing. If any mom knows that the birth is risky, they go automatically to this hospital. So all and all, there is no question about the high level of professionalism of local medical staff. But there is a second thing and it is customer approcach and not only here but generally in czech hospitals. We carry this weight from comunist time when customer didn´t really matter or better said customer´s opinion. So in this case, it´s like I am the doctor and you are just a patient so you shut up and listen me because I am always right. Well, I understand that those people study for six or more years and have plenty of experiences but that doesn´ t mean that they can´t be more flexible in approcach and communication towards clients. Also many people wants to know exactly what will go on and the type approacch "Well, I could tell you but you wouldn´t understand so why should I" is also not the right one. So that´s the "dark" side of hospitals generally including Podolí. But not everything is so bad and now I am talking about Podolí. It´s getting better and it´s more or less really up to which doctor you meet because there are lights in the dark. Also all doctors and many midwifes speakes english in this hospital so that´s cool. Worse situation is with nurses. They don´t really speak so discussion with them might be sometimes frustrating or confusing but it´s not so horrible as it can sound. All and all I recommend this maternity hospital because the life of your baby is always the most important thing.
