We stopped in here on a warm summer night for drinks and a late dinner. It wasn't busy so we had our pick of spots. Baby in the stroller was asleep so we were good to go. I had the large draft lager on tap, very good. A spritz for the wife and juice for the little one. For the meal I had the schnitzel, a fried pork patty. It came with a delicious green sauce which made everything better. I even dipped the bread in it. Wife had an egg dish that also came with the green sauce. It was good. Little one had the burger which she also liked. Service was friendly, accommodating (gave us English menus) and just right. Would go back. read more

Outstanding service and great food. The 'normal' typical German and typical Frankfurt food is done very well. But apart from this, they serve special vegetarian and even vegan food (a vegan burger). Prices are in normal range - reasonable for good food. In summer the outside places are directly on the small square with view to the Höchster Schloss (castle of Höchst). A great place to bring the family or a after work dinner. The atmosphere and history of this place is wonderful and after a good meal it's nice to walk down through the court yard and see the river. While we are in the process of traveling around Europe, Frankfurt was our travel hub & meeting place. I am an American (German and Italian Native) & I could not wait to get some real German food! We enjoyed the location, large cobblestone area surrounded by other restaurants & just the atmosphere itself was so nice & relaxing. Kids playing, dogs walking, couples strolling by & everyone just hanging out eating & having A beer! We started off with "bier" then we got soup; I got tomato & my husband got asparagus which both were so tasteful & delicious! Now let's get to the main course! My husband & I basically shared our meals; schnitzel & späetzle! Everything about this place was wonderful! The service was great! We need REAL German restaurants back in the States! read more

Our local affiliate suggested this place for very good, authentic German cuisine. I have to say, it was fantastic. The schnitzel is a great example of what it should be, crispy, rich, and tender inside. The bärenpfanne was also outstanding, who doesn't love a skillet of potatoes, veggies, and 5 different kinds of delicious meat? Service was very good, even to us yanks, and portions are generous. They have several decent beer options and a nice beer garden as well. We will most definitely be back before heading home. read more

Here for one night (from Manhattan) / wanted a yummy traditional German meal in a typical German Social setting. It hit both marks -- plus friendly staff. Original Weinstein's Scnitzel was excellent and large beers too boot! read more
