In a word...... Easy!…read more Frequently traveling to and from FRA Airport, the Hilton Garden Inn makes life a lot simpler when trying to get out, without breaking the bank. It's a bit of a walk from the gates, but it's not too terribly hateful. There is a Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn within the FRA Terminal that makes life a lot easier for those who especially have early morning flights. Frankfurt traffic can be a bit of a nightmare and often times it's quite unpredictable. Without breaking the bank, you can spend the night conveniently at the airport for worry free arrival to your gate the next morning. The hotel is set in a mall type atmosphere with shops, fast food options and multiple restaurants. There's plenty of room to have a wander and go shopping instead of sitting around in your room. The next morning, wake up fresh and head to your gate. With the security check points being 10 - 15 minutes of a walk from the hotel, you'll be on your way in no time. Would I go back? Absolutely. A night at the FRA Hilton Garden Inn is almost a must each time I fly out of FRA. It keeps me sane and on schedule.

As for the room, it felt quite dated and small for the price and how newly it was constructed. The climate in the room was fine but could be better. There was also mold on the ceiling, which is disgusting. Im only giving 3 stars because they let us move immediately when we confronted them. Would not recommend, but could be worse and pretty close to the train station and terminal 1.

I had an overnight layover in Frankfurt and this was the hotel that was the best value close to the…read moreairport. It is efficient and adequate; no more, no less. We don't really have an equivalent in the U.S. It's somewhere between a Red Roof Inn and a Holiday Inn Express. You get a clean room, a bathroom, a bed (more on that in a moment), a TV, a desk, slow wifi and a chair. Do not expect luxury. You're here to sleep until you can get to your flight. Some things you should know: (1) There is a shuttle to/from the airport. Ir runs on an odd schedule that is roughly every 30 to 45 minutes until 11 p.m. Get the schedule from the hotel! (a) The free shuttle picks you up at FRA for free. Meet it outside between doors 5 and 6 on the arrivals level. Look for all the other hotel shuttles. The shuttle was seriously the size of a city bus! It even had the hanging straps that a city bus would have. (b) The shuttle TO the airport requires a reservation at the front desk. Going TO the airport is NOT FREE. Be prepared to hand over €3 when you board. (c) The clerk told me to wait in the lobby for the morning shuttle and I missed it. You MUST wait outside. You cannot see the bus from inside, and it will leave you. (2) Of all the hotels in Europe, this is a first -- the bed linens are just bizarre. There is no top (flat) sheet. There is a comforter, but it is smaller than the bed (check the photo gallery). You have been warned. (3) You get one pillow per person. Since I was traveling alone, there was one pillow on my queen sized bed. I could have used more. There are plenty of electrical outlets all across the room (you did bring your adapter, didn't you?), including next to the bed. There is a restaurant on site. There is also a minifridge in my room with sign on it that says there are minbar refreshments at reception... and there were! They had beverages for sale at the front desk. No mysterious minibar charges, which happened to me multiple times in Europe. Speaking of reception, the clerk working the desk was very brusque. No smile, no anything... He wasn't rude, just... icy AF. This is a functional spot where you can get a lot of bang for your buck... just be sure to check out the bedding situation.

On the plus side, you'll get a good night of sleep: quiet place and really comfortable beds but I found the place to be overpriced for the amenities offered (about 220 euros / night). They claim to have a fitness room but this was pathetic: a couple of old machines in a room without window where folks seem to sneak in to go for a smoke: really disappointing! I didn't make it to the pool but that seemed actually more adequate.

Plus rooms ready for us. This is a dig at the airport because I overheard a fellow layover pal say they know these missed flights happen often due to short connection times at Frankfurt airport...yikes........ The hotel itself is nice inside, trendy and clean. Staff was friendly too. They gave us tickets to use the bus shuttle for the airport. Dinner was good, I got a schnitzel and a beer. Plus they were airing the world cup on the screen. Only thing was the room was super hot despite having and AC, like super hot and humid. Plus limited tolitries in the room. Overall fine stay at the airport hotel but I'm glad I didn't pay for this one....

Because we'd basically only be sleeping at the hotel, we opted for a no-frills experience. On our list of must-haves? Close proximity to the airport. Free 24/7 shuttle to and from the airport. A bar with snacks/light food. A spacious family-sized room with 2 beds. Affordable. Dog friendly! IBIS checked off all of these requirements and more. The hotel is clean, modern and so accommodating to those of us who travel with pets. Check in was fast and friendly, and our room was quite spacious for the price and came stocked with everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We ordered a few glasses of wine (yay, decent rosé!) at the bar to take back to our hotel room, though we didn't eat there as we enjoyed fine German fare before heading to the hotel. However, I did note they serve sandwiches and burgers so you can have a hot meal and they offer a breakfast buffet though we left too early to take advantage. A super solid experience for about $120 (3 adults + a dog!).

I had dinner at the hotel restaurant it's a Asian fusion and I found it too salty for my taste. Staff were professional. If you have a voucher like I did they just assume you will use the voucher and will bring you a food that they make for all flyers who had to spend the night. I like to eat well so I paid for my food plus I don't eat meat so you don't have any options. Checkin process was easy and again staff was professional and helpful. It's about 20 min away from downtown Frankfurt so not worth going to the city if you got in at 8 pm. The room was spacious with a kitchenette for people who may need. Its a quite area so you won't have any noise or distractions here.

In looking at hotel options, the Element Frankfurt Hotel met our needs on a couple in a couple of ways. First, it was close to the airport. SPG had a promotion at the time that would net me an extra 2,000 Starpoints, and I was able to file a successful Best Rate Guarantee for another 2,000 Starpoints. I am not familiar with the Frankfurt airport, so transportations to the hotel seemed somewhat limited. Although it is an airport hotel, the hotel does not offer a shuttle. We took a cab to the hotel, but the cabbie was perturbed given the short ride to the hotel and low fare. Upon entering the hotel, the front desk is located to the left. Check-in was smooth and we were quickly given room keys. Although the hotel is set-up for the SPG Keyless system, it was not working at the time. The lobby is airy, and open. To the left is the front desk. To the right are several couches, dining tables, a high top table and chairs, that could be utilized as work space, or breakfast overflow seating. There is a small business center with a couple of computers and a printer. The hotel is set up as a long term stay property, as there is a small kitchen. The property is marketed as a serviced apartment. Upon entering, the kitchen set-up is located to the left. There is a sink, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, utensils and fridge. Next to the kitchen is a small closet, which included an iron and ironing board. Around the corner was two other closets, including a luggage rack. Along the far wall, there is a large desk and TV. I was given a welcome amenity of two apples, a gooseberry and half a grapefruit (inexplicably), along with a bottle of water. The bed was a little on the firm side, and not the most comfortable. A small night stand was on either side of the bed, along with an electrical outlet. Next to the bed, was the bathroom which was on the smaller side. Immediately to the right upon entering the bathroom was the toilet. Opposite that was a single sink with limited counter space. There was a shower that included a hand held shower head, along with a rainfall shower head. There are shampoo/conditioner and shower gel dispensers that had a fantastic apple scent. The view from the room isn't that great as it overlooks ongoing construction. There is a large window that opens a few inches. Although the window opens only a few inches, it is somewhat scary that there is no ledge or balcony underneath the open window. Element Hotels offer all guests complimentary breakfast. The breakfast spread was fairly expansive and included juice, bread, rolls, muffins, fresh fruit (including the other half of my welcome amenity), eggs, bacon, quesadillas, cereal, cold cuts, yogurt, salad, coffee and tea. The Element Hotel is a nice, clean hotel that is also relatively new. Although it is an airport hotel, they do not offer an airport shuttle which I think would be greatly appreciated by guests since taxi drivers appeared to be miffed by having to take such a short drive.

We were given a table next to Merlina Mercouri's picture in black and white on a side table, a white amaryllis next to her. Furniture brown, decoration white, and X-mas in the restaurant. Are we in heaven or on a funeral. Ordered mixed startes, cold & warm, mixed meat dish. The mixed starters were fine, salads, pastries. All well prepared and tasty. The main dish was served on a plate and was a huge disappointment. Looked like pre-prepared lumps of meat cooked on water. Grilled yes, but most probably during the day to be able to meet the amount of people to be served.. The waiter was smiling from ear to ear as his restaurant was filling up. Asked him if he had some sauce to go with the meat. He smiled and said: No way the cook will be able to prepare something. Honest, yes, but added to the disappointment. Could not match the fact that the restaurant was full with our experience. We tried some of the dish but tasted strange.Deceided to leave and have a coffee elsewhere.
