My family and I were traveling around Germany and Austria and was eating bratwurst, schnitzel,…read morepretzels and potatoes for many days so we were all craving to something a little more light and healthy. We were a party of 5 and each of us ordered a lunch set which ranged from €13-20. My daughter ordered their salmon bento in which I was told the fish was moist and tender. The bento also came with 3 small pieces of chicken katsu which was also very good and everyone enjoyed the salad which was very much needed and appreciated. My son ordered their sushi lunch which came with 6 pieces of nigiri and 1 small roll. The nigiri had 2 salmon, 2 tuna, 1 shrimp and 1 a type of white fish which I forgot what it was. The fish quality was a little below average. It's not that the fish is not fresh. It's just not of good quality. I'm also a little shocked that they gave him double salmon and tuna which means they have very limited fish variety available. I ordered their chirashi and got an extra piece of octopus and 2 pieces of tamago. Again, the fish quality was subpar. Overall, having Japanese food after many days just meat and potato was a breath of fresh air so we all did enjoy our lunch. But the food quality was very average. The service was also extremely slow. We were also served food without any utensils and we ended up getting them ourselves so not a very good choice if you're in a rush.

I ordered the sashimi-sushi set and it was ok but nothing to rave about. The tuna slices were too…read morebig for sashimi and I was disappointed. Otherwise, my experience was fine. Service way ok, although they wouldn't let me sit at the bar even though I went by myself and I wish they would let their guests choose where to sit since the place was nowhere near full. Kai might be good for Innsbruck standards but I wasn't impressed. I'd like to try the tempura udon next time I'm there, though.

Underrated for Salzburg…read more Vegetarian Ichi Go Ichi E in Salzburg delivered a very pleasant dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm comfortable and inviting with a clean modern interior that makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal. The restaurant offers English menus which is extremely helpful for travelers and the staff speaks English as well. The servers were far more attentive than what you normally expect in Austria which made the experience feel smooth and welcoming. The service overall was excellent. The staff was polite quick and very organized and the restaurant itself was spotless. The food came out at a good pace and everything tasted fresh. The ramen itself was very good with both the noodles and broth standing out. The noodles had great texture and the broth was rich flavorful and satisfying. Everything from the ingredients to the seasoning tasted well balanced. The black garlic vegetable ramen in particular had a thick savory broth that paired perfectly with the noodles and toppings. The eggs were cooked perfectly and added extra richness. Overall the restaurant offers good food good service and a surprisingly comfortable easy experience especially for an Austrian restaurant. Ichi Go Ichi E is a great stop for ramen lovers visiting Salzburg and worth returning to.
