The place is pretty pricey which looks obvious for Michelin recommended restaurant. It was little inconvenient to stay in such a quiet place with no other visitors. The food was fine but nothing really unusual. Actually we liked it. The service was good but all dinner process a bit slow but I believe it's German way. All the dishes served with interesting way. I would recommend this place because it's only one from two really good places in Schweinfurt to eat. Place is kids friendly, clean and quiet. The tables are decorated by bearings which match perfectly with location. We had couple of appetizers. I choose the lobster cream which was good and I still remember the taste. My husband choose a grilled lobster which is kinda rare to find in Schweinfurt. Was served as everything everywhere at this time in Germany with asparagus. The veal filet was good. Served in the nice way. For dessert we had good cake with strawberries. Whole experience I consider as a good one and looking forward to visit again.

Given our experience then, I feel confident saying that the Naturfreundehaus in Schweinfurt made our favorite Käsespätzle. The spätzle was perfect in size, shape, and texture and flavorful entirely on its own. However, the addition of käse and perfectly cooked onions (and bacon for the mister) made this dish utterly fantastic. It remains a family favorite, thanks in huge part to this location. The menu was expansive, and during the summer months it was always lovely to sit in the biergarten and enjoy fresh food and refreshing brews. You will know when you arrive because you'll see cars everywhere. This place is extremely popular with locals and the few privilaged to know about it. Home of huge schnitzels, salads, and pizza. You cannot go wrong with any of their menu items. If you are new to Germany, this place is a great place to try most of Bavarians foods. Their food is extremely cheap and great tasting. Likewise, they offer a good selection of beers, wines, and other drinks. A word of advice, it gets busy and most foreigners might be unfamiliar with the way you get food. We always eat outside (inside they have wait staff) but outside, you head to the window with the large menus to select and pay for your food. Try your German at first, but they understand and speak great English. Once done there, they will give you a number. Don't be afraid, you will hear them calling out numbers in German, BUT they know when to call them in English. Once you number gets called, head to the another window where your huge plates of food await. That's half of the experience, a good thing to do is while you wait for your food, find a table quickly and head to get your beer of choice (sodas are ordered with food) at the beer stand. Pick your size and enjoy. Seating will never be an issue, but beware, it is not uncommon to share large tables if space is limited.

We was visiting during very hot summer evening and unfortunately the place is not air conditioned. To stay there all evening it was some kind of challenge also because most of the tables was taken. The stuff is extremely nice and able to communicate in English. The all process of serving it's very German so to have a dinner we really need to have a time. I choose tapas which was pretty good. After that I ordered a duck. And what surprised me the duck was almost unbeatable. I fell very sorry to say that. But my piece was gummy and it takes a lot of time to chew. My husbands was surprised how I could even eat that but it's not a part of my personality to complain to the stuff. I just moved to dessert. We also ordered polio which was good and tuna filet. Nothing to complain. We choose a very fine bottle of wine. The dessert was an interesting connection of few flavors and we really like it. The place is worthy to visit and I wish I will go back but this time I will choose something different than duck for sure. I hope that the chef will take care about that.
