When our 5.5 hour tour was unexpectedly cut to 2.5 hours, we decided to book something independently. Since we landed at the second cruise terminal, it took a bit of time for our guide to meet us. Others had to walk into town to find a cab or independent tours as this cruise terminal surprisingly had no services available. Otherwise, this was a very easy terminal to navigate. Get off the boat, show your ship pass and get back on. The walk into the main town and the main cruise terminal where you literally are in the City of Molde is about a 15-20 minute walk away. Check out the Kiwi grocery store near the terminal for some canned sardines, brown cheese and waffle mix.

This hotel has been as carefully thought out as Swiss watch. The rooms (cabins really) are functional and austere in a way that is uniquely Scandinavian, and they've been integrated into the landscape in such a way that every room has a breathtaking view. Furniture is minimal but so comfy that a day spent with a good book, pausing for occasional glances at the mountains and river, is as pleasant as a hike up those same mountain sides. But beyond the impression you get from the movie and the photos, you'll also find an owner eager to make each guest's stay special, astoundingly good food (which you'll really appreciate if, like us, you stay at the Juvet during the off-season when not much else is open), the wonderful company of the other guests, and...well...Norway!

Hair, dust and just not very clean. It needs vacuuming, dusting... just a thorough cleaning. When we arrived I noticed in a review to ask for a robe so you can put it on over your suit when you go to spa. We arrived late in afternoon and I asked for a robe. Did not get one. The man who met us when we arrived told us where we were staying and I was anxious to see rooms. After seeing rooms I went back and asked again for a robe and the man seemed a little impatient but gave me 2 robes (one for me and my husband). Went to spa ... cover on hot tub. The sauna (steam room) was not turned on. I did not see any switch to turn it on. My son went back to find the man who greeted us. He wasn't happy about having to come to spa (according to my son). The man went to an electrical room and got it to work. My husband took off cover of hot tub and there were dead insects floating on top of water. Our 2 sons joined my husband and myself for dinner. One of my sons had a business call in the U.S . to attend to. He was 10 minutes late to dinner. The man who greeted us when we arrived at Juvet pointed to his watch and tapped it when my son walked in. This did not make my son feel good. The 1st course had just then been placed on the table. My son ate very little and left. He felt like he had been scolded and was looking forward to a relaxing stay but thus far after the spa experience and now being scolded for being 10 min. Late spoiled any relaxation. Juvet is not an inexpensive place to stay. I expect a clean and nice room and if there is a hot tub and steam room that it is operating, clean and no effort on my part to look for someone to help so we can use it. I don't think I'll make the effort or spend my money to stay there again but the view was beautiful and view from room beautiful. It's too bad it isn't operated like it could be.

Quality/Quantity - What a good hike, not easy, but not difficult…read more A real hike, only paved the first 10 minutes, the next 1.5 hours of steep rugged terrain. Rewarded with a glass skydeck when you hit the first 500 meters. Coming down was 3 times faster and so much easier. But be careful as it rained this morning and there are still some slippery wet spots. Or you can pay to take the tram, LOL. You can also pay for one way - Walk up and tram down or tram up and walk down. Atmosphere - Beautiful, beautiful views of the city, forest, Fjords, etc. Then of course, you are rewarded when you hit your first 500 meters with a Skydeck. Service - Self service. Price - Free, as we chose to hike, sorry I guess my tram price menu picture did not get uploaded...? Owner Comment - Thank you for such a rewarding hike.

Visited the beautiful old Skodje Bridges with Trond from Local Trips. He dropped us off on one side…read moreand then met us after a short walk crossing over two bridges and through a tunnel. The Skodje Bridges are a series of masonry arch bridges that were built at the request of a couple of school teachers in 1880. The construction started in 1911 and was completed in 1922. They are the longest masonry arch road bridges in Norway. Due to their age and weight restrictions, they are limited to pedestrian traffic today. A newer steel arch Straumsbrua, Straum Bridge, was built in 2004 to accommodate vehicles crossing the Skodjestraumen. A nice stop for a short walk along the way to Trollstigen Road.

Spectacular and scenic camping spot near Åndalasnes…read more The views of the Troll Wall are absolutely spectacular; the tent spaces have the best view, but the entire camprground shares it. Most people here are in small RVs, and I was impressed about how quiet they were --- no TVs or loud stereos, no loud air conditioners. There's a smaller tent contingent (including us), and a few small trailers. Showers are 10 KR for 5 minutes; 2 stalls for each gender. Bathrooms are clean and spacious, with lots of electrical outlets for charging phones if you aren't at a powered RV spot. There's two sinks for cleaning dishes, which works pretty well; the actual cooking facilities are a little cramped but rarely used, as most people either have a camping stove or an RV kitchen. The tent area has a large, tarp-covered space with 3 giant picnic tables, great for making dinner in the rain. Trollveggen was by far the best of the three campgrounds we visited on our trip. Highly recommended.
