I wanted to check this out as I put together my itinerary for Vienna and I am glad got to see it!
Staff: Downside is the man I first talk to was really rude. My friend got her ticket, he checked in her bag, got her badge and joined the tour guide. I was next in line and the man said "no, too bad. Next tour is in a hour". I politely mentioned the person who was 5 meters away from the counter was my friend and I would appreciate it if I could join that tour. And he said no again even though the tour group was before the security check point, the guide was still there waiting and my friend was still there. At this point my friend asked the tour guide if I could still join and he tells the front man staff that it's ok. The man scoffs at me and then says "well? Pay me!" I pay and join the group. I was ticked off but the tour guide's enthusiasm and charm completely win me over. The guide gets top marks! He did the tour in English and German over a microphone which you get an earpiece to hear him which helped if you were further away. Very smart!
Venue: This place has such lush history. I'm not into politics or history but this kept me captivated! You go through many of their historical rooms where you can see magnificent statues and architecture. And you can see modern rooms currently in use. There are plenty of photo opportunities too! I watched lots of people were taking selfies pretending to be politicians, it was quite amusing.
I loved it and recommend it to anyone visiting Vienna! Just hope you don't get grumpy man who singlehandedly lowered my rating. read more
