Located in the part of the city east of the Vltava River, not too far from the Historická budova Národního muzea (National Museum), I t's about a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the main train station Praha Hlavní nádraží. It's also a short 4-5 minute walk to the secondary train station Praha Masarykovo. There are both local buses and long haul buses that stop here, some which drive to/from as far as Amsterdam or Strasbourg. The building layout is pretty simple, an entrance on the west side of a rectangular building, and directly in front of the building a paved loop for pickup/drop off, then further in front of that multiple bus lanes laid out in the parking lot with numbered stops. Inside the building as you walk in, on the left there's a row of ticket counters followed by an information counter above which is a screen with bus departures and arrivals. On the right side are some shops and fast food restaurants, in the center area some seats for waiting. I was able to locate to locate my bus fairly quickly and board about 10 minutes prior to departure. I would recommend getting there at least 20 minutes in advance if you're not too familiar with the area. It's walkable or you can take the local buses or metro within a couple blocks away. Found the facilities modern though utilitarian, generally speaking clean and in good working order. There are also some covered bus stops along the sides of the parking lot in case you're waiting outside for your bus.

There's a cute little convenience store on-site so you can stock up on snacks before boarding your bus. There's also two fast food restaurants -- I've only been to the Burger King. They provide limited seating. There's also an indoor seating area in front of the departure/arrival boards, which is appreciated on cold or rainy days or when there's a delay....which happens often with FlixBus. I took the bus from Prague to Berlin, Munich, and Vienna (2x). It's a really easy and cheap way to get around. Plus, the bus station is connected to the metro, bus, and tram lines for an efficient experience all around.

There were automated ticket counters at the train station although it wasn't too clear which direction each stairwell was to get down to the local tram. This is the main train station in Prague, located conveniently in the eastern section of the city…read morecenter, walkable to many well-known local sites, including the Opera House directly to the south a block away, the Natural History Museum two blocks away, and the famous Zegar astronomiczny Praga (Prague astronomy clock tower) 15 minutes away by foot, in the main old town square. The station itself is a combination of old and new, originally built in the 1860s in a Renaissance Revival style, named the Emperor Franz Joseph Station the royalty by whose decree the station was built. Its current facade on the upper level east side was built between 1901 and 1909, in an Art Nouveau style. It's the largest station in addition to the largest Art Nouveau landmark in the Czech Republic. The dome is a work of art and I'm a little sad I missed it, though the pictures look elegantly restrained in its details. Major work on the station occurred in 1928 when the station and train lines began conversion to electricity. Post WWI additional tracks were added, then post WWII--after competitions to select designs for a new station, underground railway and check-in halls--a new terminal building was built between 1972-79 including an underground metro station, the first of its kind in Prague. Additional construction happened to replace tracks 1983-94, and continued modernization and maintenance 2006-2017. Given the two different structures and about two dozen above ground and additional underground tracks, this station is pretty large and has multiple levels. Recommend taking that into account when arriving to catch your next form of transportation. Both entrances have loops in front of the entrances for vehicles to circle and pick up passengers. The Art Nouveau building is located at the upper level, and has a large adjacent car park in front of it (or really on the roof of the lower level), that doubles as a bus stop* for multiple local and regional lines, and pickups for ride shares and bus tours. Most major railway routes within the Czech Republic and connecting to adjacent countries stop here, and you can also transfer to metro line C Hlavní nádraží station (separate ticket needed--easy to purchase at machines in the metro station). There are plenty of shops, restaurants and amenities inside, though since the immediate surrounding area is a park, you'll need to walk a few blocks away to reach other stores, hotels, and restaurants, though all in all still very convenient. Overall I found the station clean, with clear signage in Czech and English, pretty easy to navigate. I read some reddit threads on the potential sketchiness of the park in the nighttime around the station; did see some homeless folks though also saw people that looked like they were sitting on benches and hanging out. Of course best to be wary of your surroundings in an unfamiliar city, though coming from NYC it was pretty mild and I didn't feel unsafe. *this is not the main bus station though, that's about 15 minutes walking north of the train station.

It's not the most modern of stations but it just works. It's extremely easy to navigate, clean and accessible. There's also a little food truck outside and the ticket machines are very easy to use. If you're traveling into Prague I'd highly recommend skipping a taxi and just grabbing the train from here.

The Metro Station its-self isn't too attractive, I do like the artwork on the platforms which adds a bit more boldness and uniqueness, as is typical at most of the Metro stations I used during my time in Prague. I did not notice any lifts, however, there are escalators provided. The escalators are really fast though, I was shocked getting on them for the first time and almost fell, so you do need to get on a steady step quickly, it did feel a little unsafe but on the other hand it did speed up entry to the platforms. Reasonable Metro station that provides connections to other modes of public transportation, or more central into Prague in very little time, while being useful for guests at hotels nearby including the Hilton. 3*

I actually rather like this stop because if you're seriously very bored and ever have to wait for too long, the Metropole is literally right across the street. During the day time, there are a number of street vendors with yummy snacks to keep you sustained. And the buses here are also so useful! So much cheaper to get to the airport with the 100 rather than a taxi.

The driver appears to have massively overcharged me on a trip from Prague airport to a local bus…read morestation, taking advantage of the fact that we apparently did not share a common language (i.e. I was charged the equivalent of about 50 UK pounds rather than 25 UK pounds which appears to be the going rate for taxis for the relevant trip!) (I am visiting the Czech Republic on a work-related trip.) However, the receipt does not appear to reflect the large amount actually paid; so it will be difficult to get my money back by claiming expenses. I thought at the time that I was paying the amount as it appeared on the taxi meter; but either it was a bogus meter or I was simply not looking at the right display on the dashboard. (Or possibly the meter was running; but the correct fare - as on the receipt - was a flat rate for a trip from the airport into town.) Obviously the driver has trousered the change I did not get back, as a massive tip. In case the company sees this review and is basically not just a one-man company, then they may be interested that it was driver number 1965. When metro, trams and the bus station was closed at 11:45 pm Nov 27th 2015 because of the bomb alarm in Florenc, Mr Achac Varga forced me to pay him additional fee to reach Florenc. The total amount I paid travelling from Vaclaw Havel Airport to Florenc was over 700 CZK (almost 30 euro!). On the other hand, normal taxi drivers' price from the Airport to Florenc is 300-500 CZK. I will never understand why official Czech taxi drivers like Achác Varga earn money on human tragedy?
