We enjoyed a lovely stay at this lovely 8-bed inn in the heart of Lenox. Our room was as nice as we could have hoped, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, high-quality bedding, and a bathroom with a wonderfully large walk-in shower. The staff proved to be uniformly pleasant people, always helpful. The public spaces -- the dining areas and especially the recently refurbished parlor rooms which are stocked with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon -- are a genuine delight. So much is good here. But we have given the inn four stars not five because of the disappointing breakfasts. We were served very overcooked casseroles, overcooked scrambled eggs, grossly undercooked bacon and rather sad bits of yogurt. They really need some improvements here. That said -- and we know it requires us to be honest -- we would definitely look forward to returning with fingers crossed for some improvements in the breakfasts. And yes, 33 Main is on the pricey side, but it's high season for Tanglewood -- a very short drive away -- and given the quality here we think it's well worth considering a splurge. read more
