Listen... I understand we live in NYC where most laundromats are trash, but this one particular got under my skin. So here's my review:
After moving to this part Astoria I was dreading how little options there are around here (but I got the park, so positives). So I'm stuck going to this one over the other one (reconsidering walking the extra 2 blocks). So I decided that after working 14 hour shifts all week that I would splurge and drop off my laundry, towels and bedding. The original pricing was $41 and I asked when should I come back and they said in a day (wow day turn around, hell yeah!)
So I came back and they said the charge was $47 now because of an extra "bedding" items, which wasn't specified after I told them what was in the bag . After comparing the recipes this "extra" items only tacked on $5 (math, em I right?), I had to get to work and said screw it and paid. Now after already being annoyed that I paid to pay extra, I get home open the bag and everything was neatly folded (nice right?). Welp fuck me, the laundry smelled horrible, as if soap wasn't even thought about being used. I feel like they just sprayed water on it, throw it in to dry and folded.
So 2 days later I got the time to bring my laundry back and do it. When I got back I ask them politely for a refund or at very least a partial refund so I could do my own laundry today. After being told to me that I wouldn't get any type of reimbursement and that I can "leave it again to be done" (the balls on this dude). I ended dropped another $15 and doing it myself.
So pretty much this is my review of a place that has every chance to be amazing but does the bare minimum to keep people coming back. (As if we really had more than 1 other option).
21 Plaza Laundromat 23-11 21st Ave, Queens, NY 11105 is the other option for anyone that doesn't live in the condos that have laundry for their buildings.
I do hope this review was worth the $65. read more
