My daughter and I stopped here after leaving a football game so we are dressed head to toe in U of H gear not really thinking there is a dress code due to the lateness of the hour. We informed the hostess that we just came in for a quick bite and a couple of drinks so we would sit at the bar. As we sit at the bar, there are two bartenders and the one that is serving us looks my daughter and I over before asking if we needed a menu. He asks me if I will be charging the meal to the room and I stated, "No, we are just in for a quick bite". After this statement, the bartender's whole demeanor changed as if he really did not want to serve us. My daughter is a Vegetarian so she has questions when it comes to her meal choices so she proceeds to inquire with the bartender and he is nonchalantly answering her. At this point, my daughter is livid and ready to go but the other bartender seeing our expressions came over to conversate and see if we needed anything. As he (Bartender #2) is talking to us, the original bartender is standing back speaking Spanish to his co-workers loudly in front of other customers. I put my phone on translate and basically he was talking about the other bartender very unprofessionally. A few minutes later some other patrons of a different ethnicity showed up and our original bartender (Bartender #1) could not wait to assist them answering all of their questions promptly. Bartender # 2 made our night manageable and we had good conversations with him. At the time of checkout, Bartender #1 puts the check in front of me on the bar and walks off pretending he is cleaning glasses so I paid for our meal gave him $1.00 tip because he did initially serve us, but I gave a cash tip to Bartender #2 not only for his outgoing personality, but for him going out of his way to rectify his co-workers actions even though he did not have to. By the way, to Old fashion was too bitter. read more
