Recently tried out the newly-opened 9th St Cafe; heard it was opened by the same folks who own Burrito King.
So, so yummy! The vibe is chill & comfy, the food is FRESH and tasty, and the service is very friendly.
It was recommended we try the weekly special- 5 meat chili & cornbread- and it was so flavorful. Just on the edge of spicy, and the cornbread was moist & dense, like a pound cake studded with kernels of corn throughout.
My sister and I split 3 entrees (we like to try as much as possible)- the chili, the southwest chicken quinoa bowl, and the blueberry cranberry turkey sandwich. My favorite was probably the sandwich... now, when you read the ingredient list, it includes 'cabbage' with no other description (which we found odd). It's actually thinly sliced red cabbage that both visually and texturally adds so much to the experience.
As a coffee person (I like it black), I was pleased to see a self-serve station, though the addition of rock sugar sticks as coffee stirrers is a cute addition!
The prices are very reasonable for the quality, service and ambiance. I could easily see myself becoming a regular, here! So glad to have this option for off-Mass brunch tastiness. read more
