Asador Real is a Spanish cuisine roasted meat restaurant in central Madrid, near the opera house. While the menu is a bit quirky, this was my favourite food that we had in Madrid and was a truly memorable meal.
The Restaurant is in a basement, and so while we were able to eat outside, we didn't really have a view. We didn't look at the inside of the place, but there are tables inside too.
Service was extremely friendly and helpful. They were also welcoming to our toddler and his needs.
The menu is highly meat-based, but also quite broad. There was lots to choose from that I would have liked to have tried.
The selection of appetizers wasn't huge, and we ordered three things which were ok but not amazing.
For main course we all wanted the lamb leg. This arrived for inspection uncut, and then came back cut into pieces. The meat was so delicious, probably the best roast lamb I have ever eaten. This was such a memorable dish.
We had misunderstood the menu (and the staff did not mention). The meat came with no sides. The menu does include both roasted vegetables and french fries that we could have ordered, but by the time the meat came it was too late to fix it and we were excited to eat it while it was hot.
I would absolutely come here again (and order sides this time!). Delicious, an amazing meal. read more
