As much as I have passed by this location in the past, I finally stepped in to try the food and was pleasantly surprised. We stopped by on a Saturday evening in late June and was greeted by the very lovely and extremely funny NaNa, whom was truly welcoming and helpful when it came to our menu selections. After some discussion with all the ladies, Nana, Kawana and Bernice, whom all offered valuable insight and on-point suggestions. We decided on a Fried Catfish plate with a side of yams and collard greens and a Baked Chicken plate with a side of yams and Mac & cheese. After great debate we elected to wash it all down with the "Manager's Special". The food was very tasty and well seasoned. The cornbread (the restaurant's namesake) was delectable. The protein (main) portions are great, however the side portions are minuscule in comparison. We both had mains to take home but our sides were finished quickly. In addition I wish that the temperature of the food was much hotter. Many of the sides are prepared and resting in a heated serving display however, the temperature wasn't hot enough imo.
