We made reservations weeks in advance for dinner service. We were greeted immediately and given menus to peruse. We ordered a couple appetizers and shared an entree.
The bread service was good, there are a few different types of bread and also included a truffle butter, some type of bell pepper-tasting orange sauce, and pickled olives. Both the breads and condiments were good and I ate more pieces than I intended!
We ordered deep fried green beans and truffle mustard beef croquettes for apprtizers. These were both good, but not amazing. I wish the batter was a little lighter for the green beans (I was expecting something more like tempura). And the croquettes were tasty, but not something i would seek out. The truffle mustard was delicious.
The star of our dinner was the Cantinho Steak. We told our waiter we were going to split the steak and have side salads for each of us and they brought the steak to the table already split. We asked for medium and we got medium. The sauce was delicious and I enjoyed the dry-aged ham on top. The chips were also very good, thin but not too thin and crispy on the outside and a little pillowy on the inside. The side salads were the standard greens with cherry tomatoes and red onion, but I really liked the vinaigrette they used and it was a perfect accompany to the steak and chips.
Overall, a great cozy dinner spot a little away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. We were able to walk here from our hotel and sightsee along the way. read more
