Discovered this gem on a sunny Monday in early June when a friend and I were trying to find somewhere else but got lost. LOL I had an appointment in the afternoon, so we decided to stop here instead and glad we did. Cute, homey little place where with a canopied patio on the front, that had maybe half a dozen tables, half of which were taken. We opted to eat inside since it was a bit breezy. There were only two tables inside taken (about 12:30) and we were told to take a seat wherever we liked, so grabbed a two-seater table toward the rear. Simple, country feel with lots of natural light coming in, some local artwork, kitschy feel. Very friendly and prompt service. Lots of menu items I wanted to try but I opted to go for the half avocado & brie sandwich with a large side of their African peanut soup. Although I had a cold and couldn't fully taste everything, what I could taste was delicious. My friend had the BC burger and said it was a solid 4, if not 4.5 star with buttery bun, flavorful caramelized onions, perfect patty, and a bit of kick from the chipotle alioli. The home fries were very good too, of which I tasted one. All homemade and decent portion size. He kept mentioning the burger for the rest of the day. The chalkboard dessert menu listed some amazing sounding items, so we want to go back here to try those someday when we can eat more. It's a lovely drive from Halifax along the water to get here, but part of me wishes it was closer to the city so I could go more often. read more
