Food(7.0/10)=The food at Linda Jean's Restaurant (LJR) wasn't anything special. My friends and I visited this place because it was recommended to us by Adam at "Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium" down the street. We ordered the following dishes: 1)Basket of mini corn dogs=The only reason we ordered this was because I used to eat these a lot as a kid growing up in the South (Macon, GA). These corndogs are pretty much standard in flavor and texture. This dish comes with a honey mustard dipping sauce. 2)Lobster salad roll=I wasn't expecting much so I wasn't that disappointed with the lobster roll. The lobster isn't fresh. The lobster meat only had a hint of its natural flavor. Would have been nice if the bun (they used a hot dog bun) was toasted. 3)Filet of fish sandwich=I didn't get a chance to try this but I think it was just OK for my friend. 4)Crab salad roll=This was a big rip-off! The "crab" meat is actually imitation crab meat. If you don't plan to use REAL crab meat in your crab roll, at least have the decency to inform your customers on your menu. 5)LJ's steak sandwich=This was actually pretty tasty relative to the other stuff we ordered. The portions were big as well. This steak sandwich is basically a "Philly cheese-steak sandwich." 6)Scallop roll=I always stay away from fried seafood. Why? Because the piece of seafood is usually "drowned" in batter. Bay scallops are already small and any place that fry seafood (not just LJR) should at least let the customers taste the food they ordered. Overall, the food is so-so. I went into LJR with low expectations anyways given that Martha's Vineyard is a touristy place. ***check out my uploaded picks of the food*** Ambiance(6.5/10)=There's really not much to look at here. The place sort of has a diner feel to it (utensils, cups, plates, etc.). The tables seemed like they haven't been wiped down with soap or any grease-fighting solution for a while. The silverware didn't seem very clean as well. Service(6.5/10)=Service was OK, but sometimes It felt slow. The waitress was attentive with water at times, but also left us thirsty at other points during our meal. Overall opinion=If I ever visit this area of Martha's Vineyard (MV) again (ie. Oak Bluffs), I wouldn't step into LJR for food. Since I've only been to MV once, I can't recommend any other places to eat. In conclusion, LJR isn't worth it. read more
