I gave this place two stars because the owner is friendly. We drove all the way out here because the person we were visiting said they thought this was where someone they knew had gotten some delicious pastries once, although later admitted they must've been mistaken.
There's no place to sit inside and only one person or family at a time is allowed inside anyway, so you have to get in and get out; no lingering. We got one of each of the two cupcakes that were available; one vanilla, one chocolate, a chocolate chip cookie because the owner suggested it and said they were hot as she had just taken them out of the oven, and an almond croissant.
The cookie was okay. The cupcakes were extremely dry and tasted like they had been made days prior. The frosting on the cupcakes tasted like pure butter and had zero flavor. The croissant was very heavy and thick, not light, flaky and layered the way a croissant should be. Tunnel City Coffee, however, has amazing bakery items and an incredible atmosphere so we couldn't wait to return there. read more
