We came to Ferragudo for a day trip, when we passed by the same village on our way to Portimao and found it very charming. In fact, the little fishing village was named one of the prettiest in Algarve.
We found the restaurants near the main square too touristy - there is a place that offered everything from pizza to Indian to Portuguese - so we decided to wander further away. This one is right by the Pier.
We had an octopus salad which was quite refreshing, and a monkfish medallions with prawn main dish (medalhoes de tamboril c camarao). The prawn was so fresh and delicious, we asked if we could order an extra on its own, but the waiter checked with the chef and they only had enough prawns to go with the monkfish orders.
Definitely can recommend this place. If I travel to Ferragudo again I would love to return. read more
