This ABC store consistently has the best selection of any store I've been to, with the single exception of the store in Hillsboro. I consider them equal and each has items the other won't. On this visit, there were two vendors offering free samples. Uhm, yes, please. One was a local distillery (https://giadistillery.com), and the other was Cîroc. GIA makes a grappa so good that it was voted the best luxury grappa in the world in 2021! Having lived in Munich before and spending lots of 3 day weekends in Italy via a short drive, I love grappa. Not knowing about this award,when I tried their grappa, it was heavenly. I picked up a bottle of the grappa along with a bottle of their whiskey. They also had bottles of their vodka, but that's not my drink; I leave that and gin to my wife. I'll visit the GIA distillery and do a full review soon. Back to this ABC store, there are plenty of helpful employees. The store is also very bright and inviting, which I appreciate. I don't like dimly lit stores. They are depressing. Some of the other items I picked up were a bottle of Travelers whiskey, a collaboration between the Buffalo Trace distillery, and Chris Stapleton, and a bottle of John A. P. Connelly whiskey. This is another North Carolina product. It's difficult to find their products in stock. I like the rye and have never had their whiskey. But they had two bottles of whiskey, so I grabbed one to try. They also had a bottle of Bookers on the shelf, which is also difficult to find. In fact, I've only ever found it here. 5 stars all day long. read more
