Arcade Lane really does feel like you're walking into your own Arcade Game in a hidden laneway between Regent and Adelaide Arcade. My tips on how to cheat and win "the Arcade Lane game" are as follows: 1) Build up sustenance before your journey begins outside the venue or on Wednesday and Thursday nights here with food trucks La Cantina and Burger Theory out front from 6pm. Eat the shaslicks from the BBQ inside every night from 8pm though if you wish... 2) Scout out your position early as the old vintage couches, wooden benches and metal tables and chairs fill up quickly and they are the best spot to watch and observe the competition for the night. 3) Bring along your protective face mask as the enemy will try to weaken you with smoking copious quantities of cigarettes in your general direction (after all this is an outdoor venue) 4) Bring plenty of bounty for drinks and your own water to hydrate you. There is no fresh water taps (been told to fill up in the bathroom twice now) and you'll pay minimum $8 a drink for a wine or cider. You will also have to be forceful at the bar - these guys mean business and are under the pump so don't expect any smiles or thank you's. 5) If you suffer from the slight of hearing, sit further up the lane closer to the exit - that's where you can stop pretending to hear what your friends are saying and engage in conversation. 6) Try as hard as you can not to let your guard down at this place - you are on a mission.
