I was first introduced to ALDI in the midwest. Loved the concept of passing along savings to the customer with no grocery bags, limited hours, and only stocking the essentials.
The location here in Fairfax though could use some work, especially when there is a Lidl just down the street.
I think the staff could do a better job keeping the aisles clean and organized (see pics). Wish they had some basic items butter lettuce and common brand name ice cream.
If you are new to ALDI, do note that you need a quarter to unlock the shopping carts (you get it back when you return the cart). They don't have any grocery bags in store so bring your own. They offer the fundamentals so don't expect to find exotic or specialty items here. This where you come to get cheap groceries.
They share a parking lot with a few other stores (CVS, Planet Fitness) so it can get tricky sometimes.
I normally wouldn't be so picky on ALDI but with Lidl just around the corner, this ALDI just pales in comparison. The Lidl on Lee Highway offers more selection, more organized, and they have a membership/app to get you more discounts. read more
