Today was the grand opening of this Aldi's, located in Ralphs Corner where Super Fresh and Clemens once were years ago. It is also my second time in an Aldi's, the first time being briefly in 2015. Overall, I was impressed!! There is no shortage of parking in Ralph's Corner, there was plenty enough for how crowded it was today! Being brand new the store is obviously very clean and well stocked. They had free bags and samples earlier today, but by the time I got there they were out, but we did get three $5 dollar off coupons, all of which were nice incentives.
If you are looking for brand names, then Aldi isn't for you. They have some brand names, but not a whole lot. For me personally it is not a big deal, as the products taste great, still get the job done and the prices are fantastic!! I was impressed with the produce section In particular. They also don't have too many register lanes, but they are very efficient in getting everyone through. They also do not have plastic bags, but they do have boxes throughout the store you can put some products in.
Another aspect of Aldi that I liked was the shopping cart system. You put in a quarter in this slot on the cart itself to obtain the cart, then when you are done you push the cart back in the row, hook it to the cart in front of it, and you get the quarter back. This is a great incentive to return your cart, one I haven't seen anywhere else.
Overall, for my first real experience with an Aldi, I was impressed. I'm only 5 minutes down the road, and I know that I'll be returning in the future!! read more
