I bought a cutting board from Gustavo as a present for my sister about three years ago. It was not cheap and I deliberated about it a lot. However, he convinced me that it was good workmanship and that it would last a really long time. After about a year and a half, it started getting cracks. I have moved away but today I brought the board back to Gustavo. There are cracks on both side, along the grain and also where he glued together. The board is falling apart. He said, "it's been three years, it happens"
I have cheapie cutting boards I bought over ten years ago that have not cracked the way this has. I told him I bought his product because I expected it would last a long time. He said, "three years is a long time"
I took it to another wood worker and he said it was likely the wood had not been cured, so as it dried, the wood warped and cracked.
I absolutely do not recommend anything he makes. He finally offered 50% off another one. That's still triple what I can get at bed bath and beyond or tj maxx, and those will still last longer. Do NOT support him. His workmanship is bad and his customer service is worse read more
