New Jersey has many great diners which offer quality food at a reasonable price. On the road early in the morning on my way to kayaking on the Delaware river, I stopped at the Alps Diner, a family owned and operated business. Their promotion is "We have everything all day." Featuring itself as a retro-diner, it has red bucket seats and lots of chrome in it's interior. Like most diners in N.J., the menu is large offering everything from waffles to fish to burritos. Breakfast is served at 7 am followed by lunch and dinner. They have counter service, as well as, tables, and bucket seats. The faimly has been in the diner and catering business for more than 20 years. They offer online take-out and delivery. It is BYOB and they do not have a corkage fee. My usual breakfast is oatmeal with some type of fruit but on this day I had their 3 egg breakfast which came with hashbrowns, toasted and buttered rye bread and your choice of tea or coffee ($6.25). This diner offers value, large portion size, fresh ingredients,quality food and a large menu.
