Picked Al's out as a good place to stop while traveling, it was the 1/2 way point on our trip. The food was very reasonably priced and it was and authentic diner. I think it might have been Al himself cooking. We had a blueberry pancake with a fried egg on the side , the pancake was huge and very tasty. The egg was cooked just right not too dry or too runny. The grill cheese sandwich was fine very basic no chips no pickle nothing extra. The breakfast sandwich was interesting as I think the cheese was something similar to spray cheese from a can not sure whatever it was it was really processed and probably a "cheese food". This place is fine for what it is, not some place I need to go back to. The waitress was really good, someone asked her to watch their pocketbook so she put it on her shoulder and continued to wait on the tables. read more
